Hello! I've just had triplets 2 weeks ago, and you helped us chose names and it was so much easier thanks to you! We ultimately chose Ivy Josephine, Molly Clementine & Bellamy Jules. Thank you, SJ!
Biggest crush on the name Wilde. I’m welsh and my childhood home was called Pen-Wyllt (wyllt is welsh for wild) so feel a special connection to it that way. Although I’d be worried about what others think using such an ‘untraditional’ name
Vilde is a very common Norwegian name, it’s a shortform of the name Alvilde(wich is a shortform of Alfhildr, meaning «Elf» and «Fight»)😊 Different pronounciation though, cause I’m guessing you pronounce Wilde like «Waild» and not like «Vilde»😅 Wouldn’t worry about what other people think about Wilde, just tell them what I just told you that it’s a common Norwegian/Scandinavian name😊 Vilde is a girls name over here, and a very girlish kinda name.
We just called our little one Wilde Frances, and love it. Go for it! People are so much more open; we kept it a secret from our families and were a little nervous, but they all love it.
We named our 5 month old daughter Fern because we loved the simplicity of it and the idea that ferns are resilient plants that have been around for millions of years, since before the dinosaurs. In the language of flowers, ferns can also signify magic, fascination, secret love, confidence, reverie, discretion, and shelter (pandemic baby lol). I think it fits perfectly with this list. :)
I named my sweet boy “Rain”. Everyone loves that it’s simple but beautiful ( I think the spelling makes it more boy-ish). He will be 5 months soon. His nursery has clouds all over it (😍).
I worked in mothercare for a short time years and years back- always heard names there! Once I heard a newborn girl called “Bay”. I thought this was very beautiful. Amazing for a sea loving family or a very green earthy choice because of the fragrant Bay leaf ...... I never have forgotten it !
Eeeee Wilde is my baby's name! She was born one month ago and we were going back and forth on whether to go with Wilde, and we did and we love it! She's such a character, and fits the name so well. Plus we actually live in Scandinavia (Sweden, like SJs family) and we're happy for people to pronounce it VIIL-duh too if she feels more comfortable with a name that fits in more. Beyond chuffed to see our name there, thanks SJ 💓
I think Hazel, Silas, and Avani were my faves! We were searching for just this type of name when we were naming our cat Everest. He just seemed like he needed a good adventurer name. Everest is where we landed. It suits him perfectly, and we get complimented all the time for it.
I saw the name „Seda“ (feminine) on a names site recently. It has different meanings depending on which country you ask but apparently in Armenian it means „spirit of the forest“. I have an immense crush on it- feel like it would be a potential middle name because my husband and I are obsessed with hiking and I really love the idea of a name that relates to forests. As far as I know „Sylvester“ also means „of the forest“. Would love if you could do a forest / tree related list! Feel it would be on board with this wilderness trend too. Love your videos! Xxx
Bloom is my number one girl name on my list! I love how simple, different, easily pronounceable and pretty it sounds. And I would use the nickname of Bloo/Blu, which is just TOO cute!
@@SJ_Strum it was perfect!! and yes I totally agree, it was on my baby name list when I was younger but being born in Ireland meant I ended up meeting a few tadhgs so unfortunately it’s slightly spoiled for me 😭
Gorgeous SJ how are you? Tadgh is beautiful, would love a Welsh names list if you haven't done one. I love the name Cariad for a boy, which means beloved I think. So many beautiful Welsh names I'd love to see a list, or a new list if you've done one before xx
I adore Tadhg! I also thought these names might fit the "wilderness" genre: Áedan - little fire Raoul - wolf council Morgan -sea dweller Heather - named after the wild plant. Artemis- Goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness and childbirth Leonie - lioness Oceana - ocean
Aedan is awful and SO common. I teach and the running joke is how many Aiden/Cayden/Brayden/Zayden/ Hayden’s we have at any one time. And now people are giving girls these names too 🙄
Artemis is so beautiful! Love it, wish we could have used it, but unfortunately our surname (changed my name on getting married) creates a bit of a rude combo with A names. E.g P.Ness etc 🤣
I posted these names to the dilemma in a video the other week, but think they'd fit with the nature/wilderness theme too; they are all flowers, but not commonly used as names that I'm aware of. Celosia (boldness), Clematis (mental beauty and ingenuity), Canna (reed, it's a type of lily).
A more unusual name I like in this theme is Calidris, the latin name for sandpipers (sea bird). I'd consider it gender neutral. Nicknames could be: Cal, Cali, Idris, Dris, maybe even Ali, Lidri and Liddie.
I love the name Silas! It's the best character in The Graveyard Book. If we are having a boy, we decided on Elias (Eli for short) which is similar to Silas. Nettie is also lovely, so vintage and sweet. Those are my favs from your list. :)
Hey SJ! Got bored in lockdown so named all our chickens - no guesses on the theme! We have: Charles and Camilla (oldest grey couple), Anne (other regal older hen), Fergie (ginger chicken lol), Margaret (chicken with attitude), Kate (was originally Meghan but quite a sweet chicken so we had to change!!), Beatrice, Eugenie, Diana and Philly (not named after a royal because not a very nice chicken - so named after my mums would-be step sister who is a complete bitch!!)
I love this list! love nature type names but can't bring myself to use common names. You mentioned Prairie a little while ago and this has really stuck with me 🥰❤
Hi SJ, great list of names, as usual 😊 I have a suggestion for you, would you be able to do a list of names that have the same pronunciation in the US and Europe? So, easy spelling kind of names. Like Tara (that was my baby girl's name) or Mia? I don't know if it would make a great baby name list, but still 😛
Like Wilde and Bloom I've started to see a lot more buzz around Wildrose and Wildflower as middle names as well, it's so interesting! Penn is one that's grown on me, though I think I slightly prefer Penrose.
Oh I love these names SJ! 🥰 great video 💜 I absolutely love working with plant and tree energy so wilderness names for me are soooo perfect 🤩 🙏🏻 for sharing lovely Xx
I'm not entirely sure if these fit the wilderness name trend, but here we go: -Primula (the genus of primroses) -Egret/ Heron -ilex (holly) -Zoic (relating to animals)
Wow! I really like the sound of Egret! I've always been a fan of Margaret, which hubby says no on, but Egret may be an alternative that he'd go for with similar sound.
I don’t recall which video it was where you mentioned the girl name Clove, but what about Clover? 😅 hubby and I are still thinking of a middle name but not sure of the name staying as Clover as it’s less common or use the mentioned Clove...naming humans is hard haha
I have mentioned Clover a few times too - I love it so much!!! Especially the meaning of lucky as well with 4 leaf clover - and that it's got LOVE in it! x
Clover is my top girl name! (Not pregnant) I figure she could go by Chloe if she doesn't like the name. It's growing in popularity. I hope it doesn't get too common
Faolan is a name that I think would suit this category. It means little wolf ❤️ and Addax! I love it, it's the name of white antelopes but I think it's edgy and modern
I loved this list! I really, really liked Keela and Tadhg! I'm also a fan of Silas. It is Biblical, but underused enough for me to really enjoy it still. Penn reminds me of Penn Jillette of Penn and Teller.
I met a cat with this name and I thought hey that could be a human name too; Beltaine .. which is MayDay or the half way point between the equinox and the summer solstice. Sort of nature.. maybe a little astrological... definitely seasonal.
I really love Hayes. Lately I’ve been saying names in my head like if someone asks what’s your name? And seeing if it sounds good to say or if it’s awkward
I’m struggling so much to find a boys name I’m utterly in love with :( I’m hoping one jumps out soon, I watched your videos while pregnant with my daughter and as soon as I heard the name Clara from the historical women video you did back in 2019 I knew she was going to be a Clara I’m hoping that happens for little man, ♥️
What are your thoughts on Nash? Fits this trend well as well as last name for first name. I love it for a boy but not sure if it’s a bit too far out there? Thanks
I named one of my Barbie dolls Hazel when I was a kid after hearing it for the first time in a Dreak and Josh episode, English isn't even my first language!
My momma's name is Keila, she was born in the 70s and still to this day I've only ever heard maybe 2 other people named it. So if you're looking for a unique one, Keila/Keela would be it!
Ouuuh SJ I love the name Avani! I'm going to suggest it to my (French) friend who likes out there names ! Think I can sell it as being a cooler version of Stephanie!!
Hello! I've just had triplets 2 weeks ago, and you helped us chose names and it was so much easier thanks to you! We ultimately chose Ivy Josephine, Molly Clementine & Bellamy Jules.
Thank you, SJ!
Those are wonderful names!!
Congratulations! And those are very pretty names! :)
Gorgeous names, congrats on your three babies! ✨
Congratulations! Bellamy is my favourite name ever and has been for years, can't wait to use it some day 😍
wow, triplets!! congratulations- those are beautiful names 🌸
I would really love an Asian inspired name list! Have you done one already?
Same!!
One name I really like for a girl is Sylvie meaning forest. It sounds like a really cute and elegant variation of Sylvia
Oh it's so lush isn't it! My friend has a little Sylvie and every time I hear it it's just so gorgeous x
I love that i know a few older ladies who have that name qnd slyvia. . Sadly the one passed away awhile ago she was my friends mom.
I like Sylvan, Silvan, Silvano, and Silvana. I also like Sylvie and Sylvia.

I'd love an Asian inspired name list 🤞
Biggest crush on the name Wilde. I’m welsh and my childhood home was called Pen-Wyllt (wyllt is welsh for wild) so feel a special connection to it that way. Although I’d be worried about what others think using such an ‘untraditional’ name
Don’t take into consideration what other people might think about your baby’s name. You loving it is all that matters!
@@josephinesavard5783 Totally agree :-)
It's getting really popular with new parents and so lovey to have that personal connection to it - makes it extra special! xx

Could you possibly do an all boys name list, unheard, unpopular names? Boys names are so hard!
We named our 5 month old daughter Fern because we loved the simplicity of it and the idea that ferns are resilient plants that have been around for millions of years, since before the dinosaurs. Putting Bay on my list! ❤️
My sister absolutely loves that name too!! How sweet to never have forgotten it xxx
reminds me of Once Upon a Time but the Character was called Bae which was a nickname for Baelfire which was quite unique but cool
Keela with that gorgeous meaning is really special.
I love Silas!!!
I know a Sylus.
I really like this so much! xxx
I feel like it’s blowing up because of Justin Timberlake. I teach and g it have had several Silas’.
Not uncommon in Germany:) I know several
Middle names: Slate Steel Stone
i've always loved the name ridge for a boy! i think ridge would fit this list well. it was #612 in the US in 2019.
Eeeee Wilde is my baby's name! She was born one month ago and we were going back and forth on whether to go with Wilde, and we did and we love it! She's such a character, and fits the name so well. Farren is such a good no frills wilderness name. It means wanderer 🥰

Ahhh penn is one of my all time favourite boys names! It’s so underrated
I’ve always loved it too!! Glad you like it. Xxx
I used to be a nanny for a girl named Aiken - such a cute precious wilderness name!
Oh really! That’s stunning 🥰🥰🥰
I feel like the name "Sage" for a girl would really fit this list as well. =)
Bloom is my number one girl name on my list! I love how simple, different, easily pronounceable and pretty it sounds. And I would use the nickname of Bloo/Blu, which is just TOO cute!
Obsessed with Hazel It just flows & it
reminds me of autumn which is my fav season (:
Foristell is the name of a town near me and I’ve always thought it would be a cute, earthy, ethereal baby girl name and would be at home on this list!
Kíla with the fada would be the true Irish spelling. There is an Irish folk band called Kíla too
Super impressed with your pronunciation of tadhg, sj!
Oh did I do it right!!! I love the name - bit sad we didn’t know it when we named the boys xx

Áedan - little fire
Raoul - wolf council
Morgan -sea dweller
Heather - named after the wild plant.
Artemis- Goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness and childbirth
Leonie - lioness
Oceana - ocean

Drooling over Tadgh Wilde
"my name is Mostyn"
"Austin?"
"no, Mostyn with an M and Y"
"... What... Austin with a Y?
" no Mostyn"
I would include Roselle, it’s a more unique take on Rose, and it is a beautiful hibiscus plant.
I’d use penn in the middle spot!!
William Penn (like you mentioned) works really well!!
It's a great short middle for so many names! xx
I'm looking to name my new Shih Tzu female puppy and I gravitate toward nature/bohemian names. My top 3 are Sunny, Poppy and Olive. Help! 😀🌞
I can’t think of Silas without thinking of the Vampire Diaries and how evil that character was

I was just wondering if you chose a middle name. I really hoped that you chose Daisy in remembrance of your grandmother. 😀
I just had my first baby in February and named him Sylvester, "of the woods".
Our cat gave birth to 3 kittens they are: Vivian Noura Violet Vesta
Brooklyn Oscar Barnaby Vesta
Robin Twist Holland Vesta
Is Robin Twist a reference to Harry Styles’ deceased step-dad?
Awwww those are amazing names!!! I'm so jealous of those little kittens :-) x
