      Good luck. It goes fast. Can’t believe almost two years since I retired.

      I retired December 29, 2023 and have not had any regrets at ALL! OPM is a little slower than I would like but I was educated before retirement about that and saved for it! I’m told that I have that retirement glow!😂

    I was the earner, but my wife handled the finances, maintained the checkbook and took care of the household. She did all the shopping, even bought my clothes, I got a beer allowance, which is all I needed. She passed away a few years ago. It was really hard adjusting, I still can't keep my pantry and fridge filled. I figured out all the credit cards, monthly bills and paid off my mortgage (BTW you will take a credit score hit when you pay off your mortgage, but jokes on them, at this point I don't need the credit). I stress out about contractors and service people (I need my roof fixed, she would have taken care of that). I Never got a handle on the grocery shopping, she spent half as much, and bought twice as much as I do.

      my wife of 29 years was the same.
      one of the best days of my life was when she did not wake up one morning,
      6 years ago. ''we don't know we are wearing a choke chain till it is gone.''
      life alone can be a beautiful thing. believe in yourself. good luck to you.

    Why i retired at 70 years old: I liked my profession, I like my co-workers and staff, and i enjoy working. Furthermore, I did not work just for the money! What's wrong with that? 😂❤😂❤😂❤😂

    I especially related to the tip about the "non-money" spouse. I pay the bills and my wife has no idea how I do it. I've made sure she knows how to access the accounts and passwords.

    Silly Question but do we get 26 paychecks in retirement...every 2 weeks like now or is it a monthly payout?

    • @Dave-sw2dm
      @Dave-sw2dm ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you don’t know the answer you might want to take some retirement training. It is offered from new hires to mid career and nearing retirement.
