this film destroyed us loll!! Leave a comment of your favorite part of the reaction below!!
It's not Stephen Kings ending.... the book is different, the tragic finale was just for the film.... in the book it ends with them just driving through the mist...
@@space1999 oh my bad Stephen king!! Lmao
When dude got punched in the face for playing himself.
When they finally kill the religious lady I wanted her GONE 😂
Religious lady getting taken out I wanted her GONE 😂💀 sis was doing to much drinking the milk right out the bottle was also criminal.
The ending wasn't Kings. The director Frank came up with it. King said it as a better ending than the one he'd written.
This ending IS in the novella; it just isn't THE ending.
Near the end , David thinks to himself that if worse came to worst, he still had the pistol and could "take care of them".
This small passage in the novella is what inspired Darabont to write this ending, after he read it.
@@adgato75 I only read the novella once and it's been a while, but from what I remember it was revealed that the whole story was from David's journal that he left behind and we, the readers, are the ones who found it. The last thing he wrote down described how they were low on fuel but they heard a voice on the radio that sparked hope in the group. Then that's it, they continue driving. But because he left his journal behind we never find out what happened to them.
I actually felt that ending complemented the rest of the novella very well. There was allot that King left to interpretation and mystery compared to the movie. I did enjoy both versions though, in different ways. The only thing I felt was out of place was the sex scene. Kinda descriptive for someone to write in their journal. I would have scribbled that part out before leaving it for someone else to read. lol
Its interesting to me because the lesson is like, no matter how hopeless a situation seems, if you give up, it might be right before the finish line.
oh yeah that’s definitely a way to look at it !!!
Exactly if he had just waited like 5 more minutes!
@@technofilejr3401 More like 30 seconds.
I agree with this too.
That’s the fictional part to get saved!
A lot of the actors from this movie moved to the Walking Dead because Frank Darabont developed and executive produced the first season and part of season 2 of the Walking Dead. That woman that was looking for her kids (Melissa McBride) became main character Carol on the Walking Dead
I think the Walkers are easy to take than these freaking bugs.
“ watch her freestyle “ - she just saying shit off the top of her head “ hahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣 classic
"That thing is taking coal. Sh** wanna do a barbecue!" 🤣🤣🤣
"You take those things away, you throw people in the dark, you scare the SHIT out of them... no more rules"
Yep without modern convenience the veneer of civilization will disappear in hours
🤣🤣🤣 the ending was brutal 🤣🤣 I watched this for the first time when I was 9/10 and it scared the bejeezus outta me. I rewatched it years later and was so torn up over the ending. Great reaction guys! Love to see it!!!
Yesss was def not expecting. that ending !! thank you!
This movie is the perfect representation of how powerful fear can be when you let it be the sole influencer in your life. There were soooo many things that went from wrong to worse simply because people couldn't (and wouldn't) control their fear. Such a great magnification of how screwed up people can get.
Also, it shows that there are awful people who will thrive in nightmarish situations, since they will exploit the fears of others to fulfill their own aims.
@@user-lb9xw4xf2q That too for sure.
This was my first introduction to the channel and I loved it! I had so much fun listening in and feeling like I was just hanging with peeps watching a movie. Something about is special when you don't always have the access around you or life just isnt in that direction of enjoying a movie with friends on a couch. BUT this is a great substitute and I thank you both for that! I laughed so much.
Fun fact: among the paintings in David's studio, one is the poster for John Carpenter's The Thing, and another is one of the book covers of The Dark Tower novels, written by Stephen King.
Alternate ending: Man meets up with his wife. Wife: “Where’s our son?!”
So... I saw this as a dollar movie at 10:30 on a Tuesday morning. I'm a huge fan of the book, so I thought I was prepared. I wasn't. I was the only person in the theater, and when the tank rolled up I literally screamed, "No! You can't do that?!?" When I finally pulled myself together and walked out, the usher was waiting outside and asked, "Do you need a hug? I did." And I hugged a perfect stranger in shared fury and grief over this %*#;$ing movie. It's brilliant.
I'm so glad you shared this story. I made the mistake of watching this alone at home, where the only thing I knew was that it was a Stephen King adaptation. I was not prepared to face that ending alone either, lol, so I kinda love that usher for extending that kindness to you. That's good people.
“Bite it back” is hilarious
The ending is absolutely sick. Stephen King’s mind is something to be studied
Stephen King's mind should definitely be studied lol, but he actually didn't write that ending. The director Frank Darabont did. However, when King saw it, he said he wished he'd written that ending, so that should tell you everything 😂
@@lunacouer lmfao oh wow.. he was like “damn, that’s a great idea”
@@lunacouer This possibility IS referenced in the novella, it just isn't the end.
I like seeing people reaction to the ending 😅..don't like thinking about it but he had to 🔫 his son first
I always watch the end of the reaction first for this one.
@@MegaReacts same
The og book had a good ending

Your edits be killing me 😂🤣
😂😂😂
Certainly the most surprising ending i've ever witnessed.
agreed!!!
Something very interesting about this movie’s ending is that it was changed from Stephen King’s book, and he himself admitted that the change was for the better, which is something he doesn’t often do. The ending broke me I watched it when I was like 8, and I was too young to wrap my head around the shock, I kept asking my dad “But why? Why did it end that way”
I’ve always said how Stranger Things is like a mix of The Mist and The Goonies or Stand By Me 😂
11:01, I'm from a small town but went to college. You run into people like this dude all the time. People who never went anywhere or did anything. So when they see you doing well they project their sense of insecurity onto you.
YUP!!!!!
I like this movie for the ending that is never seen in other movies. Your reactions are exactly what the director intended.
If they had left to help the woman go back to her children, they would still be alive!
Right. They didn’t help her out of fear. She was brave, and she made it out in the end.
I clicked so fast, thanks for persevering through all those copyright nightmares!
I love this film & the ending.
The fundamental lesson is-- never give up!
In the book, they just rode off into the mist. It was an ambiguous ending. The movie ending was shocking and horrifying and very unexpected. I loved it!
This is a true horror movie bc that's the way it's going.
Best duo on youtube ngl
💪💪💪❤
(Spoiler alert!) I remember when I saw this in the theater and a lot of people cheered and some laughed when the religious lady got shot and then in the head. However, almost everyone gasped during the car shooting scene and then some people started to cry while others said "Oh my God!", and "Nooo!". Then when the reveal happened everyone gasped and some guy shouted "No f^cking way!" and some started crying again but louder. I felt hopeless and I'm sure almost everyone there felt the same way even when we all started to exit the theater.
Some movies make you sad at the end. Some make you laugh. Some make you think, "Damn, that's some life-changing stuff right there." This movie just makes you mad.
I laugh at it now after all these years it’s kinda funny in a fucked up way
@NikkieTwix Heh, yea. So, you miiiight be a psychopath. 😆
@@TedBrogan nah, it’s a bit wild and over the top. I think it’s the irony 🤣 the first 10 times I watched this movie I did find the ending sad and it would make me rage but now after I’ve seen it so many times it is kinda funny it was like he couldn’t wait to kill everyone in that car quick enough 🤣
@NikkieTwix yea, I guess. Editings a bit wonky at the end.
@@TedBrogan don’t get me wrong I do love it still
My favorite quote in the movie is: ": As a species we're fundamentally insane. Put more than two of us in a room, we pick sides and start dreaming up reasons to kill one another. Why do you think we invented politics and religion?"
Preach man preach!!
The ending in this film isnt the original ending from the book, so you cant be mad at Stephen King😂
lol he had something to do with it some way 😂
@@Dai.Natreacts He did ! He wrote in the novella that David thinks to himself that if things get really bad, he still has the pistol and can "Take care of everyone".
When Darabont read this, it inspired him to write this ending.
Thanks for the great video! I watch quite a few reaction videos, and your videos are among the best because your reactions are so honest, and your chill sense of humor makes me feel like we're just kicking it watching the movie together..! Congrats on your channel's future success, and I look forward to many more of your awesome reactions. Thanks again..!
Wow that means a lot to us !! thank you. !! We love hearing that when watching our videos it’s like watching it together / with your homies!!
Man. I love watching y'all. And I love the backgrounds lights. Perfect color tones. It's too bad youtube gives you two troubles with your uploads. I notice other reactors really try and create a "youtube" personality. Watching with you two is like watching with auntie and uncle.
The checkout clerk, Ollie played our loveable Dobby in Harry Potter!
Main character plays frank castle in the punisher movie, if you saw the walking dead the women that left to get her kids is carol, the guy who ran in with the bloody nose I believe played Dale, the blonde he was friendly with was Andrea lol they had a super fun cast.
One of the military guys in the store was Morales as well.
The little guy with the glasses who ended Mrs. Carmody played Arnim Zola in Captain America: The First Avenger. One of the locals with the baseball cap played the President in Iron Man III.
The film was brilliant it was a horror film that delivered real horror and the message that Life does not always have an happy ending. The fact that you both were horrified , sadden and angry proves it's worth. This was the reaction the film makers wanted. Stephen King originally had a different ending but it was suggested to him by the screen writer to leave the audience in sheer horror. I cried at the ending my heart broke for the father because his intentions was not to allow his child to suffer. God bless you both and it was a great reaction.
I think another message is never give up
What's funny is that olly does the voice of dobby. Lol
Wow that’s blew my mind, for some reason I’ve never thought to look up who played Dobby 😂
This movie was so good. The ending jeez. Insane
the ending is too crazy!
@@Dai.Natreacts yes and heartbreaking. It's crazy how a traumatic experience can turn people into someone completely different.
The thing about King is so many of his stories are intertwined in one way or another. There is a lot of speculation about this story and its ties to the dark tower. I personally like to look at the ying and yang on this movie vs the shawshank redemption. Both based on stories by King and put on Film by Frank Darabont. Shawshank was a redemption story where hope never died for the main character that should have been in a hopeless situation. The Mist is a fall into madness where faith and hope were killed by fear and reason. Also the ending is told to us ahead of time. The Mist will leave when the boy dies.
I really love that after the first two shots there's a pause where he'd have to turn around in the car for the next two. Great detail.
It is a depressing movie and not one I feel like rewatching.. but then you get to watch other people's reactions and see the trauma - pass it on.
I love this movie. It's 100% heartbreaking in the end, but that's why I love it. Movies are so formulaic at this point in their history, so it's refreshing to not see something coming. This had 3 possible endings by what we've become accustomed to. They get got by the creatures, they find a way to beat them, or the director leaves it up to our imagination on what happened. No one saw that mess coming. I also love when movies reflect real life, and how those people acted in that store is exactly how real people would, we wouldn't ban together for the greater good, we'd be horrible to each other, just look at how we acted when Covid first happened. It may be depressing and infuriating, but it's an engaging watch.
The best bit in this film is when the religious lady gets bonked in the head with the can of peas 🫛 🤣 I was like yes do it again!!
If you think about it, it's actually a happy ending, just not for that guy
What’s funny is that the book ending is so much different then this ending, but king himself said this is the ending he didn’t have the balls to write 😂
A dedicated sequel would’ve been awesome to see! The world building’s so subtle and faint that I could see a Avatar like opportunity in it’s possible future. Imagine a Hell Divers like movie where the humans have to find answers while doing they’re best to save the remainder of the human race.
Still remember this in theatres 😅 still remember everyone’s collective hatred towards the religious lady; first time I heard the audience applauding 👏🏽 😂 on the real tho, I think this movie made feel depression for the first time. 😭 ☠️
3:56 Bro over here trying to be hard while referencing the Wild Thornberries. Bro WHAT?! 😆😆😆
Missed you guys. Hope you’re both doing! “Ain’t that the truth killed me” 😂
There a great theory on the ending. When David kills his son, that actually acts as the sacrifice needed to clear the mist
I think the lesson of the movie is to never give up. Never give in. Ever.
my first reaction to that four legged bat eating the bugs would def be to throw the meat in the store to it
The END of the movie is CRAZY, I felt the same way y’all did about it, but also like you guys, it did made me think about how people starting acting in that Store LOL
Loved y’all’s reactions
👵🏻👍🏻♥️
The first time I watched this when I was a kid the ending shook me ! Now I laugh at it cause it’s funny in a fucked up, ironic kinda way 🤣 he was so quick to take them out 😂 if they had just waited a few minutes or to at least clap eyes on a monster first I mean come on man 😂😂
I hope these "as we go" helps
1. In context it is similar to what King did with "The Stand", except in this case it's monsters and not a virus.
2. Jeffery DeMunn is known as a favorite of director Frank Darabont, who has cast him in all four of his films: "The Shawshank Redemption" (1994), "The Green Mile" (1999), and "The Mist" (2007). All King adaptations. He was also in what King himself says "Storm of the Century" was such a good screenplay that he adapted into a book.
3. William Sadler also was in "Shawshank" and "The Green Mile".
4. Frances Sternhagen was in "Misery" by King.
5. Marcia Gay Harden kills it.
6.King wanted to play the big guy that goes out with the rope around his waist "brass balls" but Darabont shot him down.
7. This is not how the book ends. Darabont wanted this ending. King later said that as horrific that it is he likes it better. What makes this ending more devastating is he has to live with it the rest of his life
8. The picture of the cowboy is an Easter egg from King's "Dark Tower series
9. The cool thing about this story is, since the creatures are from a different dimension, they could be anything.
10. Stephen King. You're welcome
"I don't like black meat."🤣
26:03 lol na, she was silent & still so it didnt feel threatened. Everyone that dies from the mist is a result of them drawing attention to themselves by making noise. The lady who left to go get her children early on survived because she went alone and was quiet. Notice the military rescue was quiet as they contained the mist & its creatures.
Y’all have to admit, that ending went hard as hell. The Mist & Se7en are to 2 films that go too f’n hard with their endings!
Hey there, Dai and Nat. This is a good adaptation of one of Kings' stories. The only way I can describe the ending is that it's like a kick in the nuts 😆 🤣 😂 it so brutal. If you haven't yet, but wanna check out another good adaptation of one of Kings' stories, check out Silver Bullet it's a good one. Awesome show 👏 Keep up the terrific work 👌 👏 👍 😀
Lmaoo I literally just watched The Mist yesterday. Great movie
Stephen King also writes wonderful Dramas that are turned into films, my favorites are The Green Mile & The Shawshank Redemption are my favs. My favorite Stephen King horrors that are now films are Cujo, Red Rose, Misery, Carrie, and The Storm of the Century.
Great reaction guys! One of the most shocking endings of any movies I've seen!
oh yes!
Great reaction! Although the split screen was quite blurry. Perhaps stick to picture in picture
Yeah that ending was so crazy bleak! I didn't see that coming. It's not like I expected some kind of romantic comedy ending but damn.
yesss same here!

ooops lmao i take back what i said then
you guys should react to the impossible.
I watched this with my daughter last yr (she was 15) and the ending had her so upset, she cried most the night. Such a good movie but WTF!!!
Guys, this is a horror story.
Yooooo 😂😂😂😂 but nah I’m a huge Stephen king fan. HE actually didn’t make this ending it was for the movie only. 😂😂
If he and his kid just walked the lady home they would have been fine
Such a happy ending.
I love this movie but I love anything that’s Stephan king I read a few of his books in hs even though they are super long lol but his mind is amazing and creepy. Most people pointed out his ending wasn’t like the movie but I prefer it over the book ending Stephan king himself liked it over his own ending because he said his own endings aren’t the best.
15:12 I’ve asked the same question when watching movies like how can you not believe somebody who obviously looks terrified but it’s a defense mechanism we will make ourselves not believe something it’s the brain protecting us especially if we can’t explain it.
the End in the book is diffrent, it is an opend end, they just keep on driving, it is not explained what happened to them!
That ending made me sad when the dad deleted them , then I got pissed afterwards because if they had waited a little bit longer in the car , they could've gotten saved , but I still like the movie tho
I'd love to see you guys react to 3 Body Problem!
I loved this ending not becasue it was good. But because 10 seconds past the part you think is the most fucked up it could possibly be they double down and make it even worse.
Stephen King did not write the ending. That was the director. He did love it though.
They didnt have mobile phones in 80s :)

well i thought it was pretty good
Funniest. Ending. Ever.
Bro you cold😂😂
cold blooded lol
Rom/Com ❤️ 😊
Damn😂
In my defense, I don’t think it’s funny because of *what* happened. I know it’s hilarious because of how profoundly over the top it is. It’s almost like South Park or something. It would be mortifying if it weren’t so cartoonishly unpleasant. You have been 2 minutes ahead of salvation for an entire tank of gas and were one bullet short of never knowing that? Kind of hilarious. I laughed pretty hard in the theater and nobody else was amused.
The ending destroyed me, I liked the ending of the short story better.
Top 20 percentile of educated reactionist….
Please react to kingdom of heaven 2005
I get being annoyed about the way they tend to characterize black characters especially in horror or science fiction movies, we are always some kind of token character, it's like if you have a certain degree of melanin and is not a period film your character must be one note and or a single personality trait defines everything they do. At least the black guy as insufferable as he was, was clearly intelligent and rational and I didn't understand him not believing them and at least for the first day refusing to go back there to inspect things further. We're watching the movie so we've seen the things that are happening out there we know that something beyond the natural is occurring and that gives us a bias. If we were in this situation and we hadn't seen anything so that fires would be fairly strong in terms of weeding towards the dollar crazy, again in the first not even 24 hours that they were there at least, after that Still being hardcore deLulu would be entirely different story. For now though it is understandable and does commendable that a black character at least got to be this rational logical and clearly competent and intelligent, it's not also a massive pretentious douchebag, being a black man also somehow having his degree of stuck up snootiness and record breaking entitllemint in a small town in Maine...as a black dude, is a serious mystery😅
The ending is horrible for everyone who saw it for the first time
The ending is not horrible at all just because it’s not happy doesn’t make it horrible
