As a 64 y/o Texas cowboy, I grew up listening to blues, along with jazz, C+W, and what is now called "Classic Rock." Over the years, I've heard countless great guitarists, all genres of music. Maki Shizusawa is amazing to me, superb guitarist, classy, beautiful, but not self absorbed. She's a lovely lady, who charms with her understated personality, smile, as well as her greatness on guitar. Bravo, kudos and bows of respect! Awesome...many thanks for this one. Blessings to the wonderful people of Japan from rural North Texas.
Omg one of the most beautiful guitar solos I've heard in a long time. And I've heard it all. From Eric Johnson to Malmsteem. Makes me feel like the first I heard Samba PA Ti. There's nothing wrong with playing with soul. It's alright to play slow and just milk that special phrase. All I can say is wow.
She's more like an advanced amateur than a virtuoso the likes of Johnson, Santana and Malmsteen. Her rhythm and phrasing are off, her picking is sloppy and there's scads of wrong notes. I have the feeling you guys are motivated in your praise more by an 'Asian chick' fetish than musical taste and appreciation.
