- Finally! The King of the Skies has appeared! This is the full painting process of Rathalos. This monster was included in the Ancient Forest box set.
Main Colours : - Ceramite White, Mournfang Brown, Averland Sunset, Mephiston Red, Wraithbone, Bugmans Glow, Rakarth Flesh. and Agrax Earthshade.

I know its hard for work like this to get the recognition it deserves, but I want you to know these videos are a huge help to me, a novice painted without access to an airbrush, when it comes to making me feel like I'm actually gonna be able to paint the large monsters. If the idea is to help others with the painting process, you should include which colors you mix and approximately what the ratio is.

Looks great really nailed the rathalos colour! Is there a particular reason you don't prime the models?
Thank you! I actually did prime the model, I used a very similar grey, slightly darker, to that of the original grey resin which it came with out of the box. :D

My Monster Hunter board game sets are on the way! I'm thinking about painting them mysel. Would be my firs figure painting attempt. I'd like to know if you use some kind of primer paint or do you just paint over the figure as it comes out of the box? Liked and subscribed!
Hey! Thanks for the like and sub! ^^ . Yes I prime them before I start panting. I just don’t record that cos it’s boring :p - I usually try to match the primer colour to the resin of the model out of the box.
@@SilenceInSpace HI. This will be my first miniature attempt also and I know nothing. What kind/brand of primer do you recommend for these?
@@ChitoBandito6 you can never go wrong with the Citadel Spray Primers :) - not cheap but good.
Do you first prime it or do you just straight paint on the plastic?
I want to paint mine like an azure rathalos, what paint would you recommend to get that tone? 😅
HEY!! Azure Rathalos is awesome :D - Citadel paints on the wings I’d suggest using ‘Caledor Sky’ and ‘Nightlords blue’ for light and dark blue respectively. Then You can always add some Waaagh Flesh green in there to add more interesting textures on the skin. Then for the rest of the body and under wings I’d go with the same Wraithbone, Rakarth Flesh and Bugmans Glow. Add white and black to any of these colours to brighten or darken them :) - Good luck!

@@nikolaiwulff welcome! remember to try and mix some of the these paints together with other colours a bit first rather than straight out of the pot to get a more natural look. :) - yes I had to do some adjustments with mine as well.
I was about to ask the same question. I have a standalone Rathalos figure already so i was thinking of making the board game one Azure. I also have a Zinogre so when the Iceborne expansion arrives i'll paint it's zinogre to be the Stygian.
When you repaint glavenus figure gameboard?
Glav is out with the next ICEBORNE expansion, so when it arrives. i will paint it! :D
