Thank you for making this video, very interesting! just a minor comment: It is not king Willem Alexander but i think this is prince Bernhard jr. with his parents.

You are correct. I was originally told by the family who took the photograph who it was. Further info has come forward now to show that it is indeed Princess Magriet, her husband Pieter and their two sons. Thank you for letting me know. I have updated the description.

A fascinating story of bygone times, well told. I love the way the wreck is reminiscent of a shark’s jaws or worn down whale bones. It looks stunning on the beach but it’s proposed future home would show it off in all its stunning, ghostly glory. I’m torn between where it’s future should lie.

Thanks Tina. I'm equally torn but I think the economic situation means that we keep it here for a few years more!

What an interesting story Nick. Barb and I went to Texel years ago to set up bird watching holidays. A very unique place. Intention hear it mentioned in the story.

That is interesting. The deep sea boats all left from Texel as the waterways to Amsterdam were too shallow. When I lived in Holland as a child I spent a school holiday on Terschelling which is the third island.

@@NickBloomfield I didnt' know you'd lived in Holland Nick. Well travelled man. A "Travelling Man" as Rick Nelson would say.
