It was fun going to something a bit different and seeing Steam Powered Giraffe, HUMANWINE, and some other cool performances.

Holy hell, the people that made mechanical limbs/seemingly working wings deserve a good damn medal
They're very simple to make. But getting it to work on cue is damn near impossible
I got wings but tried springs, riibons, whatever and nothing makes them flap. Too stiff.
They're props not actual prosthetics 💀🤣😂🤣😂

how to make something steampunk:
-add some cogs
-goggles
-paint it copper
vintage style + machines + cogs + copper & gold colours + goggles = Steampunk
+unnecessary gears
Just use goggles, thats enough ;)

I remember when my dad went to one and he dressed up in a fancy black suit and everyone asked him directions and permission. He didnt know he had to come dressed up as that cause he didnt know what Steam Punk was. His friend invited him too 😂😂 So basically everyone thought my dad was the security guard lmaooo

That's interesting, because the moment I saw the guy I thought "not steampunk!' IMO it looked like he was just looking for a fight. I guess it all depends on whether you put the emphasis on "steam" or "punk"!

+VideoGamePro I watched this video when it first came out last year, I didn't know about Steam Powered Giraffe then. I found them a few weeks ago through a watchmojo video of all things. I came back to see if I could spot them here because they go to almost all steampunk related cons.

1.) Sadly no. Long story.
2.) This happened at Piscataway, NJ

In three sentences or less: The founder/organizer had multiple allegations thrown his way in 2018. He stepped back from the convention last minute, handing it over to a heavily criticized organization with very little prep time. The New England Steampunk Community tears itself apart, the show never REALLY happens, and tons of people end up losing a lot of money with no refunds.
If you google Steampunk World's Fair you should find everything. The Wikipedia covers it pretty succinctly, there's also a Daily Beast Article, and what not. The Facebook page is abandoned but you can see a lot of what happened leading up to the end.

There are a few organizations that do things in the area to fill the void.
Yep. It was a really cool event before things went down. Now it's a bit of a bitter memory to a lot of folk. :(

I think that aside from the mystical elements of spirits and bending. The world that legend of korra resides is essentially steampunk

If you're looking for recomendations i would definetly recomend dishonored.
I had to watch this twice and replay many parts as well, completely STUNNED at the free spirited creativity and happiness these people seem to cultivate there. Sooo many amazing ideas and people brought their kids along which can you imagine that place as a kid! Amazing! All of it.
This was just a joy to watch!

Kaipyro67ALT The single uv light projects over both eyes. that's why, if you can pause it right, at :22 you can see her right eye doesn't have the glow. Simple effects but still really cool.

This is why I love steampunk its very mechanical and you can add what ever you want

Wait, she purposely shines UV light INTO her eyes? No. Has to be something else. UV isn't visible, and if you did that it would burn your eyes DEAD.
Ricardo Kutz There it is levels of ultraviolet. Not all of them burns. Ultraviolet light can be generated by some light-emitting diodes (LED), but wavelengths below 380 nm are uncommon and the emission peaks are broad, so only the very lowest energy UV photons are emitted, within predominantly visible light.
Just Google or Wikipedia "ultraviolet light" and learn more.
TJChagas I did actually, and Ty for the response. I saw that the UV lenses react to UV aka black light blb bulbs, and those low energy LEDS. I had forgotten about those types of bulbs, and the UV lamps used to measure fluorescence.
