I once suffered fraud after working as a contractor in Zeta Suite ( Direct i ) company . Toxic work culture , fraud promises , nothing to learn .
Never , never join as a 3rd party contractor . They onboarded me swiftly and didn't share much details .
Working with Zeta Suite was worst experience . Whatever was shown about good about the company outside , exactly opposite was found there .

Hi, thanks for your detailed discussion. Can you talk about ' independent contractor " positions in India? It's a type of freelance remote work position provided by foreign companies. Is there any good future in this type of work?

It is time to collectively as Indian companies tell clients that there is gestation period of every activity. Clients cannot ask the companies to start on a fly. They should understand. Just because client is paying , it does not mean we keep saying yes to everything.
I too had a personal experience in my career. The client does not like it, but the clients should know they are also dependent on us. Working level people cannot be thrown out just like that. It will be a loose loose situation in that case, and the client does not like to loose. I was able to make them understand and bring them on terms.

I left a FTE job from the world's largest AMC and joined on a contract via a third party agency and worked for about a year with client company and after an year managed to eliminate third party agency and worked as a independent contractor directly with the client.. Monetary wise it was beneficial as it was a global and full time work from home role and got a good role with lots of learning.. Hoping to get a permanent role once project ends this year and I am really happy that i decided to stick on this Contractactual role and didnt join other co.s . Well it all depends on luck and skillset one has and there is no limit. Contractual roles has its own pros and cons.

questionable suggestion!! being a contractor has its own set of benefits!! also you learn much faster since you are needed to provide value to the team? Future of work is hiring contractors specially ones based on their talent and skill

I work as an FTE for a big product company and was offered double the salary to join as a contractor by a services firm. One of my previous manager told me about how bad the tradeoff is. So just rejected it

Working in Capgemini engineering I have 90 days of notice period.
If I put paper hiring team/ HR will ask - why you are looking for a change now? (They calling me I didn’t)
    Else
Not serving notice then - we need immediate joiner.
By the Im not agreeing with people who are telling consistency is important in career growth.
From my POV, they don’t want learn more or they can’t.
But people like me honestly willing to learn something new will not get any offers

at 5:57 you said margins are compressed , how it is true when there profits are all time high, and they are hiring less saving lots of cost and utilization number is also high .

You are right. But if you can fullfil a client's request through a fresher (instead of experienced person) - your cost goes down. So, hiring a experienced person increases cost for the company.

If an opportunity comes mostly like that what is wrong in taking after due deligence by employee during interview, peer group etc.

    • @PavanSathiraju

The only issue as I mentioned in the video is - there is a very high chance that the employer might not retain the contractual employee beyond 2-3 months. But, by that time - employee would have resigned to his/her prior org.

Sorry to hear that! I would prefer a job which gives mental peace.
It is possible to find mental peace in IT industry. But you need to be lucky and you should also not take things to heart. Then you will be alright:)
American product companies are usually very good with culture!
