  • Al K7AR gave an excellent presentation to the club about the FT8 Fox and Hound DXpedition mode built into WSJTX. He carefully explained what it is and what it does . As a regular DXpeditioner he was able to demonstrate what it looks like to be on the other side of a DX pile up on FT8

One of the most helpful presentations I have seen in a long time.

I hope all Hounds watch this to learn and understand what is going on the Fox' side and why the Hounds have do do what K7AR tells them.
Thanks to K7AR for a good presentation of the FT8 DXpedition mode.
The example described from 29:43 where two Hounds were not moved to the Fox' TX frequency is caused by callers using the standard FT8 mode at above 1000 Hz and have checked "Hold TX Freq", which works just fine. However, when the caller does not move the TX frequency, the advantage of a quiet operating frequency is lost, which may jeapordize the completion of the QSO due to the likely QRM from other callers.

It would be cool to have FT8 Fox/Hound mode with 2,3,4 streams to practice with like MorseRunner.
