So far I think this film is one of the best films regarding the battle of Alesia. If anyone knows of a better one, please inform me as I would very much like to see it. Also it was very "thoughtful" of the producers to have Caesar show a map of the walls the Romans built so viewers of the movie who are not familiar with the battle would actually know what the battle field looked like.
There's this new series called Roman Empire on netflix, they have this new season around Julius Ceasar, it's not really a movie though, more a documentary of info and pieces of film. Might be interesting to watch.
Plenty of people out there that look younger than they actually are. I dated a woman in her mid 40s but she looked 25 at the most. I'm 28 and get told all the time I can easily pass for an 18 year old since I age slower than most people just depends on the family genes.
Only today's technology would be able to accurate document the horror of battle in the Gallic Wars. Imagine marching to war with all the other men in your country to fight the Roman's, who you are terrified of. Then imagine spending all day watching people die by the sword, pissing and shitting themselves as they get run through.
Sinceramente no contaban con protectores contra las saetas. El modo de derribar el muro de los romanos no era lo apropiado, el ser soldado distaba mucho, no tenía una buena preparación , carecían de estrategias y tactos, por eso fueron vencidos .
Bien, mais pas représentatif, ont montré des soldats, légionnaire, non les soldats de ce temp. Hastatis et princeps.. Pas la même armure, casque ni bouclier...
Armour is a good half a century too early to be so wide-spread, Romans not in formation, Gaulish weapons too uniform, Caesar too young, no corpses of the Alesian civilians in the no-man's land, the Equites here have swords too short (I think, they look like gladii rather than spathas), single-person duels, and people standing around dramatically whilst people around them for some reason don't take the opportunity to do them in.
