    I have said this before and will say it again: if a child can think of and execute an adult act( such as murder), they should be tried and prosecuted as an adult.

    • @thegrimlooper
      @thegrimlooper 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed. This was a premeditated murder, that had clean up and evidence hiding. I’m sorry but you don’t do those things if you accidentally killed someone. I understand being scared, but why not call an ambulance IN CASE she was still alive? You either know she isn’t going to survive, or your intent is to make her no longer alive.

    Hey Brittany, Hey Brat Pack 👋🏻 How is everyone doing today. We have an unexpected heatwave in the U.K. and I’m just not built for this heat!
    So I’m hiding away in a darkened room with Brittany and my Brat Pack friends 💜 This is one of those stories that makes me cry each time I hear it, it’s devastating. Her parents are truly amazing people, I’m really not sure I could have done what they did. They have all my love and prayers 💙

    I am from Jax and me and Maddie went to camp together, she was about a year older than me so we would end up doing activities together, happy people still talk about her, I was 6 when this happened it’s one of the only memories I have from that year of life, it was so tragic she was so sweet :(

    • @tinajarvis92
      @tinajarvis92 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And to your first question about whether or not Josh should be released I have a lot of thoughts on this especially as someone that actually knew her, he was 14 years old I’m not sure if it was ever proved that his dad did abuse him but children do really stupid things when they’re scared I just wish that there was more evidence to prove if he was having a fight or flight moment and trying to self preservate, not justifying anything that he did but they literally let a Manson girl get paroled. I think he needs to be put in a facility for a few years so they can actually see if he’s been rehabilitated at the very least. I watch a lot of true crimes and have seen a few interviews from him I just can’t tell if he’s sincere.
      I will say even in 98 that area of town wasn’t super safe and I just looked up what google says about the area… it’s saying it’s one of the safest places in Jacksonville, that’s a lie.. looking up the crime rate it’s literally an F

    This is such a sad case. My heart always hurts hearing this . Thank You for Covering this. 💖😘
    After watching this..
    I personally feel, that this wasn’t an accident. He committed a very horrific and “ adult” crime. I personally feel that he needs to stay where he is. I’ve always been torn on this .
    I absolutely get Paris Bennett vibes . 💖💖💖

    Brittany, I too was thinking of Shelia , in the Skylar Neese case. I agree, that’s a special kind of Evil. Although in this case it was different circumstances. I don’t think Josh planned the murder , like the Skylar’s so called friends did in that murder.

    Whenever I hear of someone who would be near the same age as me (3/19/1988). It hits harder knowing she should be 32 years old with a life, career, maybe a family of her own. With that knowledge. No he shouldn't ever be released. She never gets to come back. The effort, lies, stalking he put into the murder screams future serial r*pest status.
    When I was younger I had a neighbor who didn't have his own kids but he watched over us kids and taught us every sport, always had treats and something fun to do. Always made sure we knew how to be safe when it came to road safety and strangers. It's sad now that the world is so horrible that that is now horribly susss.

    There is an entire community of parrot owners called sniffers that sniff their birds. My macaw smells like fruity pebbles, my cockatoo smells like a musky mens cologne. As someone who owns 7 large parrots. No birds do not stink. Their poop should never stink. If it does they are extremely sick.

      @lil_PowPow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I too am a long time birdie and I was kinda stunted by that. I almost thought I was hearing her wrong. I agree, the bird is either really sick (which would likely have other symptoms at that stinky point) OR someone has severely neglected the bird's living space.

    • @126shyhinata
      @126shyhinata 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@lil_PowPow first I love your name. Second I was like the only time my bird stinks is if she makes birdie soup with her pellets in her bowl while I'm at work but even then it's a distinct smell of food not decomposition.

      @lil_PowPow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@126shyhinata 🤣😘 thanks! My immigrant family had to adjust our last name 3x's...
      Assimilation America 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️.... ya know. 😜
      Sapoczkowski was just too complicated for English speakers🤣 saying "POW' is how we help their mouth agree with their eyes.
      That's funny though I thought about that too!! Once I got Chihuahuas, my 'Teil realized she can get to the dogs food bowl if she shovels enough food out of her dish onto the floor for them. While they were distracted cleaning her mess she concurred their bowl. . . and bed. Pretty much ran the house once I was able to cage train her.
      It mostly solved the nasty soup she would stir up and leave like a witchy potion.
      With any animal (including humans) it's about how we take care of ourselves and surroundings.

    Theory: he was playing with maddy, dad came home- Dad got mad, it’s already been determined he doesn’t like little girls and they way he spoke up at the questioning. Maybe he did it and pinned it on his son

    • @rebeccacrash9272
      @rebeccacrash9272 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think that's what happened. It's highly unlikely that his dad would have hidden her body in the bed. It's more likely that he would have taken her body away from the house. Also, his dad is dead. So you'd think it would have come out by now. He has no reason to protect him.

    I also see what your saying about Larry being a adult playing with the neighborhood kids can be weird. I feel like it would be a case by case basis because of how terrifying the world is today. I think it depends a lot on weather he had kids of his own. My husband and I have ALOT of nieces and nephews who range in ages of 15 years to our daughter that’s 2 years old. Often they have friends around when we are visiting and so when other kids are around we play still. For me it depends on the game. My older nephews are 13 and 11 years old and my husband plays alot of basketball with them. Both of my brothers do as well when they have the free time. If Larry was just playing with the kids I truly hope it was just to be a nice guy. I wish it was possible for us to be able to trust other kids and adults with the children we love but just like you the world has got me Jaded.

    I babysit a 4 y/o and he is old enough to understand that if you hit/bite/kick someone, you will hurt them. You can't tell me a 14 y/o doesn't understand that stabbing someone 7 times will kill them. I don't believe it was premeditated b/c he probably didn't know she was going to come over, but I absolutely believe it was not an accident. He is where he belongs and he should not be released.

    We have parakeets, lovebirds, doves, chickens and a duck and none of them stink! Ever.
    Also, I have a suggestion... Look up Johnathan Doody in Arizona in 1991. We went to high school together and rode the bus together. Even sat together at times. He was into drawing intricate pictures of military jets (both of our families were military). He was a quiet, nice, shy boy. He never gave off weird vibes like so many other people do. Everyone who knew him was absolutely shocked. Many things in the case feel wrong. I look forward to hearing you tell this story.

    I honestly have mixed feelings about giving minors a life sentence without the possibility of parole. I really think that decision should be made on a case by case basis. There are many factors that I think need to be taken into consideration. At the end of the day, if you commit a crime then you need to be held responsible for it regardless of your age. But if it's possible that a child offender can grow and change while behind bars, and come out the other side as a respectable and productive member of society, wouldn't it be cruel and unusual punishment to keep them locked up just to die? Idk, it's a crazy scary concept to wrap your head around!

    it never matters how many times I’ve heard this case I’ll always rewatch because this happened in my birth city actually and yes Florida is wack af y’all. This freaks me out a little every time and I was born in that town raised not far from it and I remember hearing about this case since I was young and it just being so baffling to my small mind at that age and then to find all the crime videos covering it I’m glad she hasn’t been forgotten and her legacy lives on. She had everything ahead of her and he snatched it away like it was his for the taking and some bits of evidence make me feel the ick a bit idk I guess bc it hits literally close to home but I’m always finding myself randomly thinking of this case. And the others of insanity that come from Florida because wow we have a lot I don’t know how to explain wtf is wrong with some of these folks down here but they embrace the Florida until it gets too Florida and we have tragedies happen. You should check out and I’m warning you it’s rough to hear about but my partner for a time worked at this actual Walmart location before (don’t think during) but it’s the Cherish Periwinkle (what a beautiful name honestly) case and it makes my blood boil. I recommend Emma Kenny’s long video on that case it gives you a much more thorough look at the situation at hand and I feel I got more from her than I even did the local news as everyone was quick to attack the mother, sure some stuff feels questionable in the case I will admit that fully, but I think other contributing factors played into how that day went and her abduction. It’s also located in Jacksonville, FL. I think you’ll find her channel interesting but this other case from the same wild town but please brace yourself and anyone else especially if you have children, you’ll want to hug them a little tighter tonight after Maddie’s case and if you (or our lovely host here chooses to watch Emma’s channel which if you do I think you will LOVE simply because of the detail and narration plus the compassion she has) go on to watch Cherish’s case. I’m proud to say while a small feat my friend who is a female tattooer in FL not only got her assailant locked up she’s fighting for licensing reform in the body modification field to try and protect more vulnerable people because sadly Jacksonville has some serious issues with older men liking young girls or being flat out predatory. We aren’t all crazy from Florida (I mean the friend I mentioned has a flamethrower but she looks glam using it so it’s fine) ahh sorry rambling have a lovely day y’all 🖤

      I’m from Jax and I do agree with this, a lot of people in Florida are really whacked but I do believe Florida is one of the only states that puts all of their arrest records as public information so I do think a lot of other states have almost just as much Fuckery as Florida it’s just not public knowledge.

    What a devastating case!! I feel horrible for Maddies family and for Josh’s mom. I can totally understand where Jesse is coming from wanting to buy the house even with the horrible lose that house still holds amazing childhood memories. I actually am currently buy the property that I grew up on. The original house we lived in before and when my mom passed away in 2005 has since burnt down a couple years later. So she never lived in the current house on the property but I feel her here every day. My Dad passed away in 2017 he did get to live in the current house on the property. He is here too I feel them all the time. One day we are going to build a bee house on the property as the manufactured home we got after our house caught on fire has seen better days and needs ALOT of attention. Part of me wants to keep it forever because my Dad lived in it but I know as long as I have the land they are with me no matter which house is on the property. I hope Jesse is able to buy that house and that having it brings her piece and happiness

    First, I love the new haircut! Second, I’ve lived in Florida since 1996 and had never heard about this case until another True Crime TH-camr did a video on this case recently. Third, this case is awful. Both families have suffered. Idk if he should be given parole or not. I would hate to be on the jury of a case like this. Do you punish the culprit for the rest of their life when they were a child at the time of the crime? Or do you accept 25 years of a punishment? Fourth, girl, you need to replace the batteries in your smoke detector!

    Hey girl sorry about the super late comment. My heart goes out to everyone involved in this especially Maddy. That being said i think although he was young when this happened im sure hes remorseful, that doesn't mean hes not capable of doing this again. He had hours before she died that he could have gotten her help instead he injured her more, hes a scary dude im very cool if he stays where he is. Love you girl thank you always hope your doing well 🥰♥️

    This is ridiculous. He spends his time before and after the murder watching violent porn. He lied about the circumstances after he was caught. He put this dying child in his bedframe. Sorry doesn't cut it. %$&* on the whole I'm sorry speech. Don't let him out, DON'T let him out. The idea that he thinks of Maddie all the time? How dare he.

    There’s no excuse for intentionally murdering a child. The guy clearly had a fucked up mind at such a young age and I 100% believe he would do this again if he ever got the chance.

    I've heard this story many times and never realized that she was 2 years older than me.
    That being said, from someone around her age, it was common in my area also for kids to be allowed to roam free. My mom didn't really do that. We were allowed on our street unsupervised but not off of it. But the neighbor kids were allowed to do pretty much what they wanted. Some of them would walk down to the gas station(about 5 minute driver, about 30 minute walk) to get drinks and snacks and stuff.
    I think that some parents were starting to be more weary of people around their kids and where their kids were unsupervised. Some were still more relaxed though. It was kind of a transition period. People were starting to see the dangers but they weren't all acting on it yet.

    And the many times I've heard about this case I feel like it was more of an opportunistic murder than something that he really planned. I don't really think that it was an accident either. I think he probably was looking at stuff he shouldn't have been looking at was curious about certain things and probably had impulses and Maddie just happened to unfortunately show up that day. I kind of feel like he probably lured her into the house and he was playing on doing bad things or something and Maddie probably said that she was going to tell him or he knew that she would tell. So he covered it up. I don't really feel like he was cold and calculating in the fact that he was planning on murdering someone for weeks or even days ahead of time. I just feel like it really was a unfortunate case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

      I forgot to add that I do believe that he got a sentence that he deserved. Obviously I don't know the guy but I don't really sense like menacing evilness coming off of him. Like you said though it does take a special type of person to look these people in the eye and know what happened and are the person that committed the act but I don't really think he's an evil kid or an evil person in general. But that's just the feeling that I get. I feel like he was just doing some terrible stuff and he got carried away in the sense or whatever. But I do think that if Maddie hadn't come around or he had maybe gotten away with the murder for a while he could have eventually become someone that was really sadistic and scary and evil. I don't really know if that makes any kind of sense but that's just kind of how I feel about it. So I think just based off the crime he does deserve the life sentence but I honestly think that if he got out he would be harmful to society. But who is to say. Only he really knows

    Just my thoughts on this case, I think that Josh had an obsession with Maddies sister, hence police finding the stolen photograph of her in Josh’s room, I think what happened was that Maddie came over to play and Josh found an opportunity to play out his fantasy of the sister, with Maddie, I think he either made Maddie remove her clothes, or he did it himself, and when Maddie screamed, Josh hit her with the baseball bat, I think the reason there was no sign of sa is because Josh didn’t go through with it after Maddie freaked out, he just killed her instead.

    Good video. I heard this story before but I 'm glad to hear it from additional source. What a tragedy. poor Maddie, if anyone can be completely innocent it would be her or someone like her. I can't imagine what her family went through. or what Josh's mother went through. Now as far as Josh. if it really was an accident that went out of control as he said then yes he should have been charged with manslaughter especially considering the fact that he was a child and he lived with abusive father. however there might be other things at play here like the stolen picture and the watching of hard porn. not that watching porn itself is illegal or really all that wrong (if he would be over 18 that is) but those two things and the fact that Maddie was naked suggest that it wasn't exactly spur of the moment.
    Now should he get a life sentence without possibility of parole. I don't know to me lots depend on what exactly happen. but as far as I'm concerned the worst person in this whole thing was probably Josh's father. If it wasn't for his abuse its entirely possible none of it would happen. Only thing that I find unfortunate in his accidental death is Josh's mother now she lost two people.
