I really enjoy your drives! I had no idea that those jets on the Webers controlled so much. I once had a 2-litre Lancia Beta Berlina, and it had a Weber similar to yours. I used to SWAP the two jets with one another. In one configuration, I use it for better fuel economy on the Autobahn. In the other, I’d get better acceleration through the lower gears when traveling from village to village and to work and back. Now…I see where I went wrong, lol! Aloha!

Thanks for the great videos - very helpful for me as I'm trying to figure out how to tune my '76 Spit. Also love your diet coke window washer 🙂

seems fixed. i had a problem similar to this on my spitfire. which still has it's factory stromberg carb. for me it turned out to be the ignition box. sometimes i'd notice the tachometer go a bit haywire and the engine skipping a beat a bit. i never made the connection with the tach going wierd with an ignition box problem. i thought coil going bad but it was ok. i swapped otu the old allison ignition box for a NOS one on ebay and it ran fine ever since. mine was temp related as well. so weird how two different problems can cause the same symptom.

While they made be two different items, they contribute to the same system, hence the similar symptoms they cause. That’s the fun in diagnosing and fixing cars!
