I am not a catholic but i still will pray for you. I went through a similar situation. Was seperated from my husband for almost 2 years. My marriage was falling apart. But i held on tight to God. After a lot of struggle God restored our marriage like never before! I pray you find peace in God! Let this time of seperation be a time to get closer to God! May he restore and renew and bring you both closer to each other and closer to him. I pray father, in Jesus Mighty name!

I'm syriac orthodox. His accent is not great, and I believe he cut it short, but I'm proud of him for trying and for introducing this to the rest of the western world. Every christian needs to know the lord's prayer in Aramaic because it's beautiful.
I’m Scottish and I’m learning this too. My accent will not be great either, it’s a lilting accent but I know the Lord will understand and perhaps even be a little amused, for I see him as a gentle, kind patient Lord with his flock.

Yes is true, but when you pray it in Jesus tongue it connected you to him through time, because God lives off of time, he is greater than time. Praying it in arameic will unite him to you when he praying this special prayer on the mountain and that is alot of graces.

There's just something about hearing that prayer in the language that Jesus would've spoken. Brings us that much closer to such an intimate, passionate and powerful moment in His life. And The Chosen does the same with the impact Jesus had on people's lives. Through the deep, tangible and personable relationships he had. To the compassion, grace and truth he displayed. Wrapped up in absolutely approachable humanity we longed to be near.

I believe the dead sea scrolls are in Aramaic as well, could also be wrong here, but the point I really want to make is that Jesus said the gospel would be preached throughout the whole earth and there are thousands of languages. As a former actor and singer, I've spoken and sung dialogues in different languages and it's quite challenging to memorize something that's not your language let alone express it meaningfully as Jonathan did. Beautiful job! Praise God!

I think that Jonathan making that tiny mispronounciation at the end makes it even better, so we're reminded through Jonathan that we should be humble in our fallibleness, but courageous and joyful when trying to get to Jesus as close as we possibly can. Like: "God, I'm far from perfect, but here's my everything, for you". Also, something cool about The Chosen is that it doesn't just give good fruit with the episodes of the show, but with the whole process of the production, and the lives of the people involved that come together into a whole "macro-story" for everyone's growth. It's getting to a point that production and people become as important and beautiful as the actual show.
As far as the choosen they were kicked out of the known Churches my friend or else this whole world would be transformed. JUDGEMENT is coming but those that trust but One they will and Shall be Saved. Indeed. I felt the same. Jonathan litlle "mistake", serves to show that he is Human. He, although an INCREDIBLY convincing actor, he is not perfect. He is not Jesus, and they do everything they can to not make people mistake the Real Jesus.

How many folks here can agree that it is now quite difficult to read the gospel texts without hearing Jonathan's voice and picturing him and the other actors as their respective apostles in their mind's eye? Perfect casting.
Jonathan did a great job playing Jesus, but he should not be what you see as you read the bible, it would be the same as idolatry. He is not Jesus but somehow who portrayed Jesus my dear brother or sister.
The Lord's prayer in Aramaic has such a poetic and beautiful depth to it. It is powerful. My husband pray's it over our family in the original language. It comforts me greatly. "---Jesus"? Are you sure? Some guy - decades later referred to as, "Matthew," - between the years 80-90 AD, wrote it and attributed the words to his fictional character. Please understand, there is faith and a belief in supernatural mythologies, but none of it is proven or verifiable in any way. Was there a real Jesus? Did he really say these things? The only, "evidence," is from some unknown author, 50 years after the events are said to have happened. So forgive me if I am a little skeptical.
Once, on a flight to somewhere, I sat on a row with a family who spoke Aramaic. I sat nest the mother and I asked her to pray the Lord’s Prayer for me in Aramaic; what a blessing that was and so beautiful to me. Thank you Jonathan. I downloaded it so I can hear it again and again.

I’ve made it my lifelong ambition to memorize this prayer by heart and one day present it to my church. For the record, I attend a Baptist church. And every Sunday after church, the pastor and I have a one-on-one conversation on topics that mostly regard Jesus. Among those topics was what language He spoke.

Search for Lord's prayer in Assyrian/Syriac/Aramaic (either one) TH-cam is full of videos. This is how we say our prayer in our Church, the Assyrian Church of the East.
Jesus spoke a few languages, which was common in an area like that with lots of trading routes. His mother tongue was aramaic, but he also spoke other languages.

I am not a catholic but i still will pray for you. I went through a similar situation. Was seperated from my husband for almost 2 years. My marriage was falling apart. But i held on tight to God. After a lot of struggle God restored our marriage like never before!

I'm syriac orthodox. His accent is not great, and I believe he cut it short, but I'm proud of him for trying and for introducing this to the rest of the western world. Every christian needs to know the lord's prayer in Aramaic because it's beautiful.
I’m Scottish and I’m learning this too. My accent will not be great either, it’s a lilting accent but I know the Lord will understand and perhaps even be a little amused, for I see him as a gentle, kind patient Lord with his flock.

Yes is true, but when you pray it in Jesus tongue it connected you to him through time, because God lives off of time, he is greater than time. Praying it in arameic will unite him to you when he praying this special prayer on the mountain and that is alot of graces.

There's just something about hearing that prayer in the language that Jesus would've spoken. Brings us that much closer to such an intimate, passionate and powerful moment in His life. And The Chosen does the same with the impact Jesus had on people's lives. Through the deep, tangible and personable relationships he had. To the compassion, grace and truth he displayed. Wrapped up in absolutely approachable humanity we longed to be near.

I think that Jonathan making that tiny mispronounciation at the end makes it even better, so we're reminded through Jonathan that we should be humble in our fallibleness, but courageous and joyful when trying to get to Jesus as close as we possibly can.

Also, something cool about The Chosen is that it doesn't just give good fruit with the episodes of the show, but with the whole process of the production, and the lives of the people involved that come together into a whole "macro-story" for everyone's growth. It's getting to a point that production and people become as important and beautiful as the actual show.

Jonathan did a great job playing Jesus, but he should not be what you see as you read the bible, it would be the same as idolatry. He is not Jesus but somehow who portrayed Jesus my dear brother or sister.
The Lord's prayer in Aramaic has such a poetic and beautiful depth to it. It is powerful. My husband pray's it over our family in the original language. It comforts me greatly. Thank you for sharing this Jonathan .

Please understand, there is faith and a belief in supernatural mythologies, but none of it is proven or verifiable in any way. Was there a real Jesus? Did he really say these things? The only, "evidence," is from some unknown author, 50 years after the events are said to have happened. So forgive me if I am a little skeptical.

I’ve made it my lifelong ambition to memorize this prayer by heart and one day present it to my church. For the record, I attend a Baptist church. And every Sunday after church, the pastor and I have a one-on-one conversation on topics that mostly regard Jesus. Among those topics was what language He spoke.
I am Catholic, but I want to encourage you to continue your research and continue asking questions. The early church fathers and their writings have really helped in my knowledge of the Bible.
Search for Lord's prayer in Assyrian/Syriac/Aramaic (either one) TH-cam is full of videos. This is how we say our prayer in our Church, the Assyrian Church of the East.
Jesus spoke a few languages, which was common in an area like that with lots of trading routes. His mother tongue was aramaic, but he also spoke other languages.
