    Magic Eraser is a micro fine sanding sponge. It will scratch the finish. A good polish will be needed after the yellowish surface is removed.

    This worked perfectly with a set of Aramith balls that was 15 years old. I used spray cleaner with bleach (dollar general cheap stuff) instead of diluting bleach and just did one ball at a time. It really is amazing how much crap comes off the balls. No idea how the previous owner cleaned/polished them but they are like a new set now after polishing. Thanks for the video!

    your cleaning process worked great with the magic eraser. However, dont stop there... After cleaning them, get some car wax (turtle wax or similar) and buff them a bit and leave a haze on them. Warm them in the sun for a bit then give them a really good buffing with an old t-shirt or micro-fiber cloth. Wow, what a huge difference it makes when you do both the cleaning and wax application. I noticed that the game play was much better too. Good luck all.

      Don't stop there, pick up some felt cleaner and clean that too, make sure you use a proper pool felt cloth and only brush in 1 direction!

    • @prestonian1066
      @prestonian1066 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      DON'T DO THIS! Never wax or polish pool or snooker balls because you will find you can't transfer spin and you will get inconsistant results.

    • @ramvan2284
      @ramvan2284 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@prestonian1066 Thanks Ian. Ive been doing this for 3 years now and actually have had the opposite effect. When I clean and polish them, the action is way more better. Nonetheless, Ill take to heart your suggestion.

      @@ramvan2284 Well i can't argue with that.If it works for you that's the important thing.
      I found that it creates a micro ice rink on the balls,sometimes you hit it just right and get the desired reaction and other times it slips enough to cause innacuracy.

    I did something similar but had a really stubborn set, used Comet as an in between wash with sponge, it helped remove any yellowing left over that wouldn't come off with just the bleach and magic eraser, aster I was done I used a polishing machine and they turned out great. Hope this may help some of you.

    I discovered that if you put your pool balls in a bucket of water and just a little bit of laundry detergent,your pool balls will look like they just came out of the box! Leave them in there for 5 mins then use a clean towel to dry!

      since the bleach is diluted with water, it shouldn't cause any damage to the coloring of the billiard balls, especially if you have a good quality set where the numbers are inlaid into the ball, instead of screen printed on.
      I would recommend building a polisher bucket though to polish the ball set after they have been cleaned, rinsed and dried.
