Sorry you had a miserable time. You’ll never forget this hiking trip. Lots of stories to tell. It’s all good.

It was a fantastic trip overall and we are looking forward to getting back up there soon. Hopefully we will time it right for fishing next time.

I had to laugh about your comment on the size of Pole creek.I had the same comment the first time I saw it. Even in Colorado that would be a river.

That's a bummer about the camara, but looks like you managed fine. Great photos are nice to look at too! Looks like a fun trip...mountains, trout and not being a work...what more can you ask for?
    Nice video!

I’ve been been in the winds 3times and was eaten alive by mosquitoes. What time of year did you go?

  • @chouyi007

When in July did you go? I know 2017 had historically high and late snows. My wife and I are heading in in early July this year for Goldens at ice-out, and it looks like this year will be lower in snow!

We went July 22 - 29. We were planning on going earlier in July but pushed it back a few weeks due to the high snow levels. I was constantly checking these sites to get an idea of the snowpack:
      www.wrds.uwyo.edu/wrds/nrcs/snowprec/snowprec.html
      www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/webmap/#version=80.1&elements=W,R&networks=!&states=!&counties=!&hucs=&minElevation=&maxElevation=&elementSelectType=all&activeOnly=true&activeForecastPointsOnly=false&hucLabels=false&hucParameterLabels=false&stationLabels=&overlays=&hucOverlays=&mode=data&openSections=dataElement,parameter,date,basin,elements,location,networks&controlsOpen=true&popup=&popupMulti=&base=esriNgwm&displayType=station&basinType=6&dataElement=SNWD¶meter=OBS&frequency=DAILY&duration=I&customDuration=&dayPart=E&year=2018&month=4&day=26&monthPart=E&forecastPubMonth=4&forecastPubDay=1&forecastExceedance=50&seqColor=1&divColor=3&scaleType=D&scaleMin=&scaleMax=&referencePeriodType=POR&referenceBegin=1981&referenceEnd=2010&minimumYears=20&hucAssociations=true&lat=42.884&lon=-108.391&zoom=6.0
The Great Outdoor Shop in Pinedale also provided some information as they received reports back from people that had been out. I believe we hit it right at ice off because the reports from the week before were that many of the lakes were still frozen. They still had a pretty good snow year this year and are sitting slightly above average but nothing like last year. Let me know if we can answer any other questions for you! Good luck and hopefully you find the Gold!!!

    Seen any bears?

    • @repyouradventure3202

Not on that trip. In other trips in the Winds we have come across a few black bears but have yet to see a grizzly in person in the winds although I'm sure it will happen eventually.

@@fliguy4 each person has their own can of spray and then one of us packs a gun. I believe spray is easier to use since you don't have to aim well under pressure but like the gun just in case.

first of all I apologize for the long winded post! Planning a trip mid August hiking Senica lake trail/Indian pass/titcomb basin trail with some side scrambles and spurs 3nights 4 days. First question I plan to pack my 5wt and euro for me and my wife my 6wt. Is the euro rod even worth packing in? How good are all the feeder streams in-between lakes (should I pack that euro rod in) or my streamer 8wt? Second senica/little senica, island lake, and titcomb lake are all marked and look promising. Are any of the unmarked lakes any good or lower jean lake, lost lake, or mistake lake the smaller ones I see on the map? Any particular pattern that work particularly well? Thanks I truly appreciate any help!
Below is an outline if that helps?

Hi! Can you still use a cell phone there to make a call? Maybe a satphone? What a silly question, but wondering.

    • @repyouradventure3202
      @repyouradventure3202  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Abraham Cano we were able to make a phone call from the top of Angel Pass and in the past I have been able to make a phone call from some of the peaks, but I wouldn't count on having cell service. A satellite phone should work fine up there! Hope this helps
