Whoa. I think the amulet you found is the same amulet Khalid asked Gorion's Ward to make for him to give to Jaheira during Siege of Dragonspear. There was a side quest in Baldur's Gate Siege of Dragonspear (which takes place after Baldur's Gate 1 and before Baldur's Gate 2 Shadows of Amn) where Khalid asks for your assistance in finding the necessary items in making an amulet for Jaheira for their upcoming wedding anniversary.

From her voice cracks and awkward laugh, it feels so real, the VA did a perfect job

I still remember how Jaheira cried in front of Khalid corpse in Baldur's Gate 2 (it was the first time I was playing a game from this franchise...)
So listening Jaheira talking about Khalid in Baldur's gate 3 is deeply emotional to me.

Travelling with Old Lady Jaheira has been fun but also rather melancholic. Good job Larian

You gotta feel bad for her.
    Her husband Khalid was killed.
Her old friend Gorion was murdered.
Her closest friend Minsc got turned into stone...
Her second closest friend, Abdel Adrian, got murdered... And then Bhaal was revived.
Honestly... I dont know how she's holding it together but for sure she's doing a good job.

Elves and half-elves live for a long time, and have strong mental defenses. I wouldn't be surprised if that means they're also a lot harder to break.

@@hythunza1811she around 120 y.o iirc since half elves doesnt get long life blessing like real elf who could go around 500-700, thats why shes already wrinkly in BG3

@@quanlinglingdingle6122 she has to be older than that, as going by notes/journals around bg3 it’s been about 120 years between the previous events and these ones. So she would have to be at least 150

Charname wasn't any friend tbh (yeah I know the canon name is Abdel but it's stupid), but after Gorion died, Khalid and Jaheira technically adopted gorion's ward.... For her, charname was a surrogate son/daughter...

Thing with me is that I played the first 2 Baldur’s Gate right before I went on to 3. This was a couple months ago during the summer. So seeing Jaheira, Minsc and Boo, Sarevok, Bhaalspawn, and a bunch of other stuff from the old games brought me so much joy. But this scene with her and Khalid legit made me tear up cuz I loved them both in the other games. I was angry and sad when I found Khalid’s body in BG2 and this just brought back so many memories

I wish it had been a bad dream, or that the mirrors could have been pushed aside to show where he is hidden. Alas, we can only go forward for the fallen... We can, but try.

so sad :( i remember the shocker when we found Khalids body back then ... btw i did not have this dialogue, because i did not find the necklace. i believe it has something to do with button i was unable to unlock in her house (harper pin needed but i sold it somewhere in act 2 and was unable to retrieve it)

In Jaheira's house, one of her children is hiding. Find him, and he will give you the Harper Pin.

Thankfully they didn't go with the version of Khalid's death from the awful BG novels by Phil Athans. Literally starts a chapter with Khalid's death screams as he's being devoured by an Ooze.
They did still go though with the Bhaalspawn, Abdel Adrian, romancing Jaheira for a time.

if i remember correctly there is a home
      with stairs
between doors and stairs a child is practicing combat
if you talk to everyone then you can find a bit of history and gain some nostalgic equipment

Assuming Gorion's Ward chose to date her, or died from old age (if he was a human or half-orc, they don't live as long as a half-elf) or something else.
The romance options for Gorion's Ward (if he was male)
Aerie the wingless avariel (an elf with wings), Jaheira, Viconia DeVir the cleric of Shar (Enhanced Edition romances: Neera the half-elf wild mage, Dorn Il-Khan the half-orc anti-paladin)
The romance options for Gorion's Ward (if she was female)
Anomen Delryn the human Paladin in training (Enhanced Edition romances: Rasaad yn Bashir the human Sun Soul monk, Dorn Il'Khan the anti-paladin (he's bisexual), Hexxat the human vampire Rogue (she can only be romanced by a female Gorion's Ward))

@@LightStreak567 How long has it been since the end of Baldur's Gate Throne of Baal?

    • @LightStreak567
      @LightStreak567 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@@craghack4700 I estimate 123 years. Throne of Bhaal is in the year 1370, two years before Neverwinter Nights, in fact. Baldur's Gate 3 is set in 1492 or 1493. Some people may argue that BG3 is in 1492 based on what is written in the tollhouse ledger you can find on the body of a dead man in the basement of the tollhouse in Act 1 of BG3, but I argue it is Spring of 1493, because in the tollhouse ledger, the last entry was made in Uktar of 1492, and Uktar is the month of November in the Calendar of Harptos, too close to the end of the year to be current, and it would take a few months for the dead man's body to stink up the tollhouse's basement.

@@craghack4700 I might as well be. Actually I'm just a big Forgotten Realms D&D fan who has played D&D since the release of Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition back in 2012. Before 2012 I only knew Baldur's Gate by reputation (I played Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance on the Gamecube a couple times back in 2004), I didn't get into it or the world it is set in until 2012. Ever since I started playing the Enhanced Edition of Baldur's Gate, I grew obsessed with anything Forgotten Realms D&D related (The Dragonlance and Dark Sun campaign settings I don't pay much attention to).

I will never understand Zoomers playing BG3 without playing BG1 and BG2 to actually learn the backstory of these characters. They don't even know Khalid and Jon Irenicus and those adventures are much more impactfull than that in BG3.

Im a fan of bg1 and bg2 and bought them day 1 back in the day.
I even bought the original collector edition of it, I have great memory of that game
True, the story of bg1 and 2 was overhaul better written, and they are great game
But lets be honest bg1 and bg2 badly aged with very poor clarity of the game's interface, really confusing AD&D rules (god I hate taco and attack speed), overall hard to understand mechanic and worst of all enormous info dump on tiny text, which contrast extremly widely compared to BG3 motion captured voice acted and still really creative dialogue option.
Dialogue and presentation is the best part of bg3 hands down and what made its identity as a game, not its story
BG1 and BG2 are great game and pillar of the CRPG genra, but they ARENT a game made for everyone. Not in 2024 where game interface and the gameplay is refined enough to be AT LEAST somewhat intuitive and not needed to read the rulebook or learn some knowledge beforehand to enjoy a game
Nowadays its only for hardcore CRPG fan which is a minority. BG1 and BG2 are just too different from what BG3 gives.
I'll understand 100% people not wanting to play them but still enjoying BG3.
I think Larian made a good balance between the legacy of baldur gates and novelty
