Yes, you have to cross the street to the beach but the road isn't busy. The beach isn't private as far as I know, and the hotel has it's own sunbeds. I don't think it's likely you'll have clothes stolen, but like anywhere there's no guarantee. We felt safe in the hotel and Mamari which is a small laid back resort.
Great Video, Thank you. I read in an older review, that there is no toilet on the beach and you have to walk back to the hotel. Is that still true? If so, how long do you have to walk to the next toilet?
Hi Peter. Yes, there's no toilet on the beach, just a couple of changing cubicles. I'd say it's about 100m from the beach to the nearest toilet which is by the pool bar and a la carte restaurant - from about 1:15 on this video you can see how far a walk it is.

I can't remember for certain but think it was around 4 to 5ft deep. The two main pools are very long, great for swimming long lengths in!
