    ABOUT US:
We’re traveling full time, living on our own terms and showing you the up-close-and-personal details of us figuring it out along the way. Sometimes it’s about navigating big, life-altering decisions. Sometimes it’s about navigating the seemingly lawless free-for-all that is driving in Hanoi. It’s moments of triumph and moments of panic. The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny.
We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.” Just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem. We believe the world’s a more interesting place when people reject convention in favor of what they actually care about. This is us putting that idea to the test - one budget spreadsheet, RV renovation and mountain-peak drone video at a time.

I’ve followed you since the RV era. We too have changed our lifestyle for the better. We live by Uncle(not really my uncle. Hahaha)Dave Ramsey, “live like no one else, so someday, you can live like no one else,” something like that. Been frugal, while still being able to help/donate the best we can. We live in California been working hard & paying extra to pay off our mortgage…(Spare you the boring details)We want to pay off our home in the next 7yrs so we too can practice what Uncle Dave preach =) Love your videos Tim&Fin!!!

Thank you for sharing! I’ve been living in US with my husband, and we always thought how interesting it is that people there find a way to spend more as soon as they get to earn more. A friend changes a job and directly he gets a bigger car and his wife also and before you know the money is gone. 😉 So it’s nice to hear you recognized the trend.
Another thing what I noticed- you say you are happy if at the end of the month you transfer to savings account even more money than planned. In Germany people prioritize saving so they transfer the money at the beginning of the month and live from whatever is left on terms that they need to live on. So it is quite normal that you see people living a very down to earth lifestyle whereas they have bank accounts with enough money to buy a house in cash. 😉

I don't shop unless I NEED something. I use public transport. Everyone asks me why I don't buy a car when I can clearly afford one. I cook all my meals and I try to buy food items on sale. I don't buy coffee anymore. My one expensive indulgence is I sometimes buy vegan food items because I'm not a huge fan of meat. These choices are also good for my health. Saving isn't all that bad. There are lots of other benefits other than money.

Thank you for sharing this! I just read your “overnight success” blog post and this budgeting one. Your story is so inspiring! We always talk of the idea of quitting our jobs and traveling…. but are weekend warriors for the meantime. Thanks again for the Sunday night inspiration!

Your incomes and lifestyle match me and my husband's. We NEVER feel embarrassed about our vehicles, or the major fixerupper house we own. Not having car payments and a low mortgage in a decent neighborhood is well worth it. Thing shaming is so 2019.

I used to eat out for work all the time. Then, I changed job and going out is inconvenient and they have a huge cafeteria. After a couple of years, they changed vendor and the food suck so I was forced to bring lunch. Now, I bring my lunch as often as possible and saving more. Btw, I watched your Vietnam video and really enjoyed it.

What got me to start saving money was to get out of credit card debts and not getting into fancy car debts. If I can't pay cash for that car or can't pay the entire credit card bill at the end of the month, then I don't buy.

I just found you guys and I cant stop watching all your videos. Allison..you crack me up. Your really funny. Thanks for the spreadsheet. I will definitely be using it. I was looking at how much your rent was. 1400 for a 1 bedroom? that's crazy. I live here in Los Angeles and now in 2021 a one bedroom is 1500 and that's the cheapest. I live in a studio by myself and have been here for 4.5 years. Sure I would love a one bedroom but im staying here so I can save $$. You guys are awesome!
