I see the same names time after time, so they are nothing but trolls, which is why I will always ignore them. Elvis is beyond being hurt by such vindictiveness.
Elvis was the true original, everyone who came after had the luxury of having had Elvis leading the way. He was totally self taught talent, his guitar, piano and his most powerful asset that amazing voice. I often think we forget Elvis was only 21yo here, on TV in front of 54 million US citizens, he drew so much wrath from the establishment because he was from the south and it was the height of segregation and he was singing and moving like the black singers of the time, so I think he was very courageous to have stuck with this and not bowed to the power of the establishment. Great video analysis as always, really love when u focus on Elvis.
To Elvis, music was music and he had many influences, not just black artists, but also the great white gospel quartets, pop and country artists of the day. Elvis was color blind to ethnicity and race. The South in those days was not the place for a "white" boy to be singing black rhythm and blues, but there he was. D.J. and Scotty both recounted to me how crazy it got sometimes and the abuse they faced by simply playing music. Some artists like Little Richard who Elvis covers Richard's "Ready Teddy" credits Elvis for breaking down the color barrier in music while others criticized him for taking their music... Elvis was the "Big Bang" of music, but it was a group effort. He needed Scotty, Bill and later D.J. and became the template for a rock and roll band of drums, bass, rhythm and lead guitar.
Yes. And elvis's critically acclaimed recordings at sun studio were LITERALLY the fusion of white country with black rhythm and blues, REVELATORY and innovative
Fil - imagine tuning into Ed Sullivan in 1956 and seeing this! I was young, but my older sister, 14 years old was screaming at the TV as Elvis performed. Mine was a musical house so my Mom and Dad also enjoyed his performance. Notice how Elvis cups his left hand behind his ear at 2:17 and other times to check if he's on pitch. My own revelation to Elvis came when RCA issued an LP called the Sun Sessions. OMG - I had thought his career began with "Heartbreak Hotel" but those 5 Sun singles set my hair on fire. What made Elvis unique is his love of music, be it pop, country, rhythm and blues or gospel. He just loved it all. Later in my life both D.J. and Scotty both recounted to me how crazy it got and the abuse they faced by simply being "white" and playing "black" music in the deep south in those early years. Stories that haven't appeared in any book. Elvis was the Big Bang of rock and roll, but it was a group effort. He needed Scotty, Bill and later D.J. and they became the template for a rock and roll band of drums, bass, rhythm and lead guitar. Take away Elvis' rhythm guitar on those early Sun records and they aren't the same. He was every bit a part of the sound. Loved your analysis.
We got used to Rock and Roll performers to get deep and hard and mean and rebellious ect. But when you see ElViS everyone can’t help but smile because it feels so good watching him.
"there are pretenders and contenders but there's only 1 King!" - Bruce Springsteen....Elvis had magnetism that drew you in whether you liked him or not....he truly had it all....he was born to be the 👑 of 🎵🎶....his truth is marching on indeed....Elvis forever.... RIP!
What he does with his eyes and facial expressions set the females on fire. He was a talent from another world. One of the only people that had talent in every way. The voice, the moves. He was an actor and played many instruments. On the band you say how talented they were and they are , but just 2 years earlier they had regular jobs and at best were studio musicians. Elvis made them a talented band.
Me and some friends saw an Elvis concert here in Detroit on April 1977 basically just to say we saw him live. But what we saw that evening was absolutely spectacular. He was obviously out of shape and not well, but his voice did not waiver and he brought the stadium now. Fil you're right about him about his musicianship. Keep them coming please. Rock on
Thanks so much for emphasising Elvis's musical talent. He is so underrated for his arranging of songs and piano/guitar playing, all of which he is pretty competent at. I've always thought, since watching his early Vegas shows back when I was a teenager, that he had music flowing through him from head to toe, so he can't help moving to it. These early shows must have been like punk rock for those times!
This man is the perfect example of charisma, appeal, dancing skills, presence in front of an audience, and of course his wonderful voice, all in one adorable. Great analysis Fil!!
haha very funny *Drewguy007* although Fil is a very attractive, gentle and sweet guy, I'm afraid this time with my previous comment I was talking about Elvis... The King 😉
It’s the KING!! Elvis Presley, the world’s Greatest!! What a GREAT Entertainer!!! Ironically he had no idea how huge he would become worldwide!! He’s a one in a million! He had such a natural musical voice and ability he didn’t even have to focus on that. That ability gave him the freedom to just entertain! AMAZING! Thank you for this one! Elvis never gets old!
When you think that the parents of these young people were listening to Glenn Miller and the other big bands---Elvis was such a dynamo and the music was so different that the kids just flipped for him. Almost 70 years ago and the performance is still a firecracker.
@@ptournas Me too but for me it wasn't a year. It was like a light switch. From Patty Page "How Much Is That Doggie in the Window" to Elvis "Heartbreak Hotel". Absolutely explosive!
@@judyzeller3921 I've used that same example to show the difference in the eras before and after Elvis, but since I wanted to emphasize the speed of the change I used the Eddie Fisher song, "Oh, My Papa", which came out in 1955, the year before "Heartbreak Hotel". "How Much Is That Doggie in the Window" came out in 1953, it had been around 3 years before "Heartbreak Hotel" came out and it wasn't really typical since it was a novelty song. I also used "Hound Dog" to provide more of a musical contrast from the early "easy listening" type of music to high energy Rock and Roll.
The Ed Sullivan shows were great. Always live, with the microphones positioned above the band so you couldn't see them on the TV screens. Elvis was a revolution and a revelation in music and on TV. Absolutely the most exciting performer ever. This was great fun!!❤❤❤
The Ed Sullivan show had a mixture of live and mimed performances. Look up the analysis on the Dave Clark 5 that Fil has right here on this channel, with the backing track failure on the Ed Sullivan show. Also, there is a performance of the Mamas and the Papas on Ed Sullivan where Michelle Phillips eats a banana during the song, and her vocals magically continue. Just search for Mamas and Papas banana performance, it's pretty funny!
@@jennyjorgensen9935 Yes, Sullivan hated not doing acts live. He would only do it if the sound crew told him they had difficulties with sound for some reason for a particular act, or if the act requested it (which a few did).
Poor old Dave Clark. Largely forgotten except for that monstrous screw up with the backing. I loved the DC5 in our time, and in my high school band we always tried valiantly to open with good covers of Glad All Over. and close with Because.@@cindi1313
Thanks for your great reaction & analysis. That was fun to watch. This song was first made popular by Little Richard in 1956. Elvis does a great version of it. This was Presley's first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show & he sang it in front of some 60 million television viewers.

First, bravo and thank you! This is special to me. On the night he died, they played a lot of '56 "wiggling" TV performances, this among them. It's special because as I finally drifted to sleep still in tears at about 4 AM, this particular performance (the shots from behind and above) was acting as an "eye-worm" on me. I have no explanation as they played a LOT of other clips. It's my last image of him from the last 24-hour-period when he had been alive. So many thanks for the deep dive. Guitarwise, it's such a simple song; Elvis was only thickening up the sound. Scotty's just having fun. All very relaxed and casual. But scoot forward 20 years. New Year's Eve, 1976, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. "Reconsider Baby." Watch Elvis play the guitar. It's a very bluesy blues! Just watch him play. It was one last one for the . . . end of the road. He'll never see another new year. And he decided to do a little something on guitar. Heck, it was New Year's - a night to "hang loose" as Elvis would say. "Reconsider Baby" December 31,1976, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Whenever you get the chance.
I was looking for the "tip" button. I wanted to send a little "thank you" gift. I'll go to your page. Hope something's there. ❤ 🎸🎸 Be well! And Happy Halloween! 🎃

Elvis certainly was the whole package. Whitney Houston’s mother was one of his backing singers and Whitney said that when Elvis walked into the room people just stared at him but could not speak. Maybe as they were in awe of him and his great looks. Great showman and performer. A superb analysis fil thank you
I can believe it. Several years ago there was an interview conducted with the man who was the head of event management at Madison Square Garden...i forget what his name is but he served that post for a very long time working with acts like Led Zeppelin, Frank Sinatra, Elton John, KISS...you name it... He spoke of the famous 1972 concerts which were two nights with Elvis in NYC, and described the very first time he walked onto the stage on the first night...he described the eruption from the audience (I'm paraphrasing) "if god himself had just walked onto that stage....I never heard such a reaction before or since for anyone else" This can be written off as an exaggeration I suppose but with ELVIS such a reaction like what was described haas been often described in similar fashion by those who were lucky to see him in '69 & '70 in Las Vegas...he had a charisma, a sort of power of presence with an audience that's not been witnessed, at that level, since. A few have come close but no one, in my opinion, has perfectly matched or exceeded that level of reaction. Carl Perkins once described Elvis on the record as the "total package" and he's correct. He had every single trait that an entertainer could ever need or want to possess regarding his appearance and his musical talents. Privately, however, that level of talent, power, influence, impact was too much for him to handle properly....and it killed him. In one aspect he was everything and in the same aspect he was too much perhaps...I can't imagine being him for 24hrs let alone for 42 years but it rewarded the planet as we know it, but at a terrible personal cost to him.
@@moonytheloony6516 thank you for your comprehensive comment which I read with great interest. I saw this Whitney and her mothers info on UTube recently
His pianist Glen Hardin said when his daughters met Elvis back stage after a show they were in awe and almost fainted. Also Jerry Reed said he couldn’t stop staring at Elvis when he first met him to pay the Guitar for Guitar Man and wished that he was girl!
Have you seen the video of Jerry Reed talking about the first time he'd seen Elvis. He said Elvis was so good looking that he himself wished he was a woman.

I think elvis and jesse would have been a duet act all their lives, as Elvis total passion for music would have given Jesse no other choice but to join in.... We would have had the Presley Twins instead of just Elvis.... How would have that worked about the fan girls - ? Just too dizzy to imagine

He has shared stories when she was a little girl & Elvis would come over to their house to practice. Can you even imagine how cool that would be to have those memories??
Thanks for this fun reaction. I lived it, I am 80 and was a teenager when this was made. He was indeed electrifying indeed and having listened to our parents music this was from another planet. He was so obviously sexy that we almost felt guilty liking him. The clergy and the PTA weren't real happy about his impact. He was dangerous, sexy, could sing and he loved his mother. What more could we ask for. One important thing to note in his 23 year career he kept progressing with the times, and with his musicians. In fact people today hear his TCB band and say wow what musicians he had. He was executive producer of his music and was a perfectionist some fun things to listen to are his rehearsals, and the fun he had. "Elvis Presley in the Studio" 1970, "Elvis Presley Jaw dropping jam" sit-down in Vegas 1970, and his controversial beginnings in "Elvis Presley and the Black Community" see how much he struggled to get where he was. I enjoy your show. Thanks and Be blessed

Elvis is having so much fun here, it makes me think of how he had gotten “discovered” by Sam Phillips only after a long day of takes, when Elvis finally just cut loose with That’s All Right Mama. Fun was the essential ingredient to his success 🎉
Yes, when Elvis blasted on the scene, they filmed him from the waist up mostly when he performed. I don’t think those in charge of the programs quite knew what to do with him!
Most artists today or in fact ever have had such presence and charisma and ability, he was the full package. He appeared full of confidence but in fact as you state regarding his guitar playing he was very shy and humble. I can't tell if Elvis is making me smile or if Fil is. Probably both actually because both do at other times too. Fil, again thanks so much for this. You mention Elvis guitar ability, for the most part. He enjoys playing, but uses the guitar as a prop more so. He played guitar more in the earlier years. You’re getting good at the realization of just how good he was. An area of absolute excellence was his natural ability for timing and rhythm. He is only 21 in this video! You are the best Fil, and thanks so much for this. Take care
The King. I was a little kid back then, and even I KNEW that he had something very unique and very special. I remember the day that he passed away. It ruined my sister’s birthday. Everyone was in shock and in mourning, frankly. My brother still to this day, listens to predominantly only Elvis music, and music from that era. There haven’t been many great rock bands since the early 90’s,after Nirvana. The Foo Fighters, Some Green Day stuff, Nickelback, (who gets a bad rap), many solo artists, singer songwriter type stuff. Thereare some I’ve liked, but not enough, to purchase the full LP’s. What content I did purchase, wasn’t great. FUNNY, but radio has ABSOLUTELY NO IMPACT ON WHAT I listen to these days. To humiliate myself even further, I FINALLY bought a new car. I don’t even know how to turn on the radio yet. I haven’t listened to current radio in years.
Elvis definitely had it all One of a kind entertainer In his own league imo Michael Jackson had charisma as well but Elvis that big voice to go with it and his voice improved with time
@@RoryVanucchi so true. Michael Jackson was one hell of an impressive performer too. I have to give him credit. He was a fantastic dancer/performer. The fame, was his undoing. So many of them, are so FAMOUS, that literally have no peace. Always surrounded by security, never being able to fully TRUST anyone. All the money in the world isn’t worth losing the human connection, In MY opinion. If I could have fortune, without the fame, I’d definitely choose that. Be careful what you wish for, I suppose.
As you said, half a century later and his charisma is not only still able to come through but it's unmatched. I know he did not like it but he was The King. I think you perfectly nailed that it wasn't a movement thing with Elvis since, in the performance, he stands still and drive the ladies crazy then and now because I love when he does that!
I always enjoy it when you talk about Elvis. It is very apparent that you appreciate Elvis the performer as do I. Live C,F, and G brilliance, I only wish I could have been there. Thank you Fil, great video!
It was one of those classic rock magazines with a extensive interview with Scotty Moore, drummer DJ Fontana and bassist Bill Black. Moore describes the early tours and venues "where Elvis often had to sing and play (acoustic) guitar to the same PA microphone."
Ha ha! I love him so much. I had to go watch the B&W version because I'm not a fan of colorized videos. After all these years, he still makes my heart skip a beat. Thank you for assuring me that he actually COULD sing and play, and that I wasn't totally lied to since I discovered him around 9 years old. I'd heard him on the radio, of course. But when he died the nonstop TV coverage was like nothing I'd ever seen in my short life. That's when I fell in love with him. I'm 50+ now and nothing has changed.
Elvis Presley , Scotty Moore , Bill Black were the original members of "The Blue Moon Boys" band. Bizzare that The Blue Moon Boys as a band have yet to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame given their stellar body of work in music.
And don't forget D.J. Fontana! It's funny that when Elvis was going to do his audition Sam Phillips called Scotty Moore and asked him to come to the studio with Bill Black to back him up. Scotty asked if wanted a drummer and Sam told him no, because Elvis seemed a little nervous and he wanted to build up his confidence. He thought a drummer might make him more nervous. But they continued that way on all the Sun sessions, right up to the last single recorded there, Mystery Train. After DJ joined them the contract was sold to RCA and the first song with drums was Heartbreak Hotel, Elvis' first song on RCA. I 'm with you, they should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are in the Nashville Musicians Hall of fame. It's in Nashville but it cover all genres, Booker T. and the MGs, Al Kooper, and the L.A. Wrecking Crew are all in it, to give you and idea of the variety.
It's funny to me seeing DJ Fontana sitting there playing the drums while chewing his gum just as casually as he wishes in the midst of all that screaming and hysteria. I say that because my mother grew up with Fontana in Shreveport, Louisiana where Elvis met him on the Louisiana Hayride and he really was just that laid back easy going kinda guy.
Colorizing from black and white is a peculiar effect. Just as strange as auto tuning old vocals. He was great, no doubt about that. He really scandalized the older generation and helped birth rock and roll. Thank you for another great analysis, Fil!
Just discovered your channel.... absolutely, love watching your videos and particular your facial expressions, it gives away everything you think about the piece in just a few seconds. Amazingly fun to watch.
Fil - I don't know if it was ever a thing in England, but Elvis mentions a "sock hop in the gym". In high schools (a long time ago) they would play music in the gymnasium and have dances. Everyone would have to take off their shoes so that the basketball court in the gym didn't get scuffed up from people's street shoes. They were always sock hops.
His nickname was Elvis the pelvis which explains why no viewing below the waist. I remember thinking that was a silly name but then I was 7 years of age. How times have changed.Great analysis as always.
My friends at school called him Elvis the Pelvis. His first album was mostly #1 hits. Nobody had ever used albums (then a new form of records: LP long-playing at 33 1/3 rpm on the turntable with 6 or 7 songs on each side of the record. Rock and roll was all on 45 rpm small records played at sock hop dances in the high school gym (with an A and B side), because juke boxes in diners played them. Steve Allen and Ed Sullivan (I still recall watching him on both shows when I was a kid) gave Elvis rare TV time on their Sunday early evening variety shows in the mid-1950s. Remember: Rock and Roll was virtually banned (an "instrument of the devil) from TV until the very end of the 1960s.

I never see any comments on Jerry Lee Lewis’ videos, about him marrying his 13 year old cousin & her having her first child with him when she was just 15. I totally ignore their comments now, because most of them are doing it to make people annoyed, & to make them retaliate. These same people go searching for Elvis videos to make such comments. I see the same names time after time, so they are nothing but trolls, which is why I will always ignore them. Elvis is beyond being hurt by such vindictiveness.
He was such a great entertainer and dancer and singer he is missed.
You missed the most important thing,
An iconic artist with critically acclaimed recordings in multiple genres of music.
Very good post! I still own that SUN album, as well as Johnny Cash' first one. It doesn't get much better seventy years later. Rather the opposite.
Rock on
Thank you so much Fil for sharing Elvis!!! with us. Almost 70 years ago, he rocked this Planet single-handedly!
Great Job Fil, as always! All thumbs up and keep it goin'!
Are you talking about Elvis or Fil?
@@Drewguy007 lol
haha very funny *Drewguy007* although Fil is a very attractive, gentle and sweet guy, I'm afraid this time with my previous comment I was talking about Elvis...
I was one of those kids. I heard the radio hits go from Eddie Fisher's "Oh, My Papa" to Elvis' "Hound Dog" in one year!
@@cindi1313, I think you are right, but in 1956, they were all live performances as far as I know.
In my neck of the woods in 1956 most people didn’t own a tv, but if you knew someone who did guess who you visited!!
sorry previous didnt post ed sullivan elvis show my late dad and other students watched on the only tv on campus in the student lounge imagine that today at miss .state univ 56 and as told fil.his roomate was from tupelo knew elvis and cousins they were all the same age
Scotty Moore, and those drums, that bass, that voice. Good God. That’s a lightning bolt from the sky. The spark that ignited John Lennon to form The Beatles, got the whole ball rolling. Spot on analysis, as usual. 👍👍
I sent this video to Fil last week and was excited to see him review it a few days later. Your comment was great, it's just the same way I feel.
Ģreat comment, yes he started it ãll💫
Be well! And Happy Halloween! 🎃
He had so much charisma, this is a song my older cusin hade his Sister told me that i vent crazy when I herd this song when I was 2 years old. I jumpt round and was more then wild . I stil love this song, he was great. I m 67 now it still make me fell happy
He spoke of the famous 1972 concerts which were two nights with Elvis in NYC, and described the very first time he walked onto the stage on the first night...he described the eruption from the audience (I'm paraphrasing) "if god himself had just walked onto that stage....I never heard such a reaction before or since for anyone else"
This can be written off as an exaggeration I suppose but with ELVIS such a reaction like what was described haas been often described in similar fashion by those who were lucky to see him in '69 & '70 in Las Vegas...he had a charisma, a sort of power of presence with an audience that's not been witnessed, at that level, since.
Great comment!
Thank you for doing Elvis again, I love it!
Whenever I think about the phenomenon that was Elvis, it always blows my mind that he was a surviving twin. Imagine two Elvi, its easy if you try. RIP Elvis & Jesse Presley🖤
I think
elvis and jesse would have been a duet act all their lives, as Elvis total passion for music would have given Jesse no other choice but to join in.... We would have had the Presley Twins instead of just Elvis.... How would have that worked about the fan girls - ? Just too dizzy to imagine
The world couldn’t have handled two of Elvis
Perhaps one would have lived longer 😢
@@jhanelmark3056 Jesse would have been the one to live longer. Surviving his illness as a baby would have made him more health wise than Elvis ... But who knows?
Elvis was 21 here and just oozed confidence, sexuality, charisma and ability doing what he loved but behind the scenes he was very shy and would be so nervous.....I love Ur reviews and analysis...thank you
Thanks for doing this one. I love this performance. It seems like they’re all just having such fun.
Always love seeing your take on Elvis. I think you should sing one of his songs on your live broadcast. :)
Yes, more singing by Fil, please!
Cool to see Elvis with his natural light brown hair, with most of that stage in black and white it’s easy to forget that this was his natural color
Hi Fil,
Always fun to take a look and listen to Elvis! He never gets old, love his facial expressions as he sings and performs. He was a rare breed and it will always be hard to find such an enigmatic performer as Elvis. Great analysis and guitar demonstration. He really had it all and was so talented… thanks for showcasing his music. You Are The Best! Congrats on 325K subscribers! Debbie☮️
Elvis was a really great entertainer that I still enjoy watching him and listening to him.
Elvis was a legend indeed! He had charisma and could do it all: sing, dance, play guitar and piano, and act. He truly was the King of Rock n' Roll! Thank you Fil for this great analysis and Congrats on getting 325k subs on your channel! Your are the best! 🙂
Thanks!
I just saw Fleming Star on Daily Motion. He definitely can act if given good materials.
Man how awesome it would be to have seen him live during that time
Love Elvis so much. I listen to uis music every day. He had amazing stage presence. You just can't take your eyes off him. His voice was so powerful. Not sure if you have reacted to any of his other live performances. He was absolutely incredible. Such a kind, generous and beautiful soul.
Great analysis - I love Elvis! My husband plays guitar: he loves Scotty Moore!! We live in Memphis… my husband knows the guy that is married to Scotty Moore’s daughter.
Elvis was the real deal!
Love this old Rock and Roll with Elvis, his band and The Jordinares. His changed music, the culture and he's still revelent today. Thanks for this and pointing out Elvis's and the band's music so abilities. ❤
Elvis is having so much fun here, it makes me think of how he had gotten “discovered” by Sam Phillips only after a long day of takes, when Elvis finally just cut loose with That’s All Right Mama. Fun was the essential ingredient to his success 🎉
The overall charisma of Elvis❤
Yes, when Elvis blasted on the scene, they filmed him from the waist up mostly when he performed. I don’t think those in charge of the programs quite knew what to do with him!
😂 Love that he said ahhhh! Like a kid in wonderment, When he heard Scotty playing that 9th chord! Nice! Scotty was definitely underrated as a player!
I always smile the whole time I watch Elvis. Been smiling since 1955. I enjoy your critique of Elvis, and thank you for giving Elvis his dues.
Most artists today or in fact ever have had such presence and charisma and ability, he was the full package. He appeared full of confidence but in fact as you state regarding his guitar playing he was very shy and humble. Band members were special too, especially Scotty who really was a pioneer of rock guitar. Great video of a great man, and as always you manage to spot everything that's going on and relate to your followers in such an enjoyable way. Thanks Fil ❤
Thanks for the kind words!
@@wingsofpegasus welcome, thankyou for providing us followers with such great interesting subjects and your opinions and pointing things out that we may not notice. Keep on Rockin dude 🤘
I can't tell if Elvis is making me smile or if Fil is. Probably both actually because both do at other times too.
I think Elvis had real and emotional music so embedded in him from that early age that he didn't just perform it, he became it. And it became him. I don't love every song but he guves something special to most of them and I pretty much love every performance. ❤
Nobody has ever matched this rawness and charisma .
Here's the thing.
Elvis's critically acclaimed recordings at sun studio were LITERALLY the fusion of white country with black rhythm and blues, REVELATORY and innovative.
Truly remarkable and timeless.
I'm 76 and I had the privilege to see Elvis in person twice. His stage presence was off the charts. I just wanted to say that I recently found your channel and I am so impressed with your analysis, not just this video but others as well. You are a gifted young man!
Thanks!
Take care
The "devil's" music never sounded and looked so heavenly. 🎼 Nice analysis! 👼
Elvis definitely had it all
One of a kind entertainer
In his own league imo
Michael Jackson had charisma as well but Elvis that big voice to go with it and his voice improved with time
@@RoryVanucchi so true.
@@glo3139 Paul McCartney handled it. Elvis and MJ created many of their problems, but they were special live talents for sure.
Besides your obvious talent as a musician and singer, you are also a very charismatic person. Just thought I would mention it. Great analysis.
Elvis was great, I remember seeing him on the Ed Sullivan show when the screen on TV was half blacked out. I was trying to see behind the black, LOL 👍
Absolutely they should be. DJ as well.
Gotta love Elvis, there was no one like him. I always appreciate your analysis of his voice and the music. I love hearing you play as well.
At 70 yrs of age I could hardly sit in my seat and had to jump up and dance. 😃 Got my cardio going❤️Thank you !
Two years before I was born. I understand why parents were shocked and the girls were in love! Thanks Fil.
The world was ready to rock and roll with ELVIS too. From this THEN, NOW & FOREVER ELVIS FAN
I always learn something new in your analysis videos that make the music more exciting to listen to. Thanks Fil!
You can tell Elvis loved what he was doing for the fans
Colorizing from black and white is a peculiar effect. Just as strange as auto tuning old vocals. He was great, no doubt about that. He really scandalized the older generation and helped birth rock and roll. Thank you for another great analysis, Fil!
Just discovered your channel.... absolutely, love watching your videos and particular your facial expressions, it gives away everything you think about the piece in just a few seconds. Amazingly fun to watch.
Incredible talent you are ,your ears don’t miss a thing
Elvis!! Always cool. Always interesting. Love Elvis, love you Fil!! ❤❤
Oh man you need to check out more Elvis playing guitar at the '68 comeback special. Baby What You Want Me To Do. Lawdy Miss Clawdy etc
ALWAYS happy to see Elvis :D
Probably his best TV appearance, confidence of the chart
Thanks for another wonderful Elvis analysis.
OH THE EXCITEMENT AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS VIDEO! IT JUST MADE ME WANT TO STAND UP AND SCREAM! THERE WAS SOMETHING THAT MAN HAD THAT JUST BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN AND IT DIDN'T MATTER IF YOU WERE MALE OR FEMALE! YOUNG OR OLD! HE POSSESSED THIS SOMETHING AND IT FOLLOWED HIM THROUGHOUT HIS LIFE. HE WAS CERTAINLY ONE OF A KIND. AND NO FILMING AND TELEVISING ELVIS FROM THE WAIST DOWN! SO TRUE, SO TRUE! THAT'S WHY HE WAS NICKNAMED "ELVIS THE PELVIS"! I SAW A VIDEO OF HIS UBER FANCY FOOT WORK. IT WAS AMAZE BALLS!!! I HAVE NO IDEA HOW HE DID IT!!! HE SLID HIS FEET WITH THE GROOVE OF THE MUSIC AND I'VE NEVER SEEN HIM, OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER, DO THAT MOVE EVER! IT WAS SO COOL!!! ❤ LOVE YOU FOREVER ELVIS! ❤❤❤❤
This was really cool, thanks for going through this song this way! (And such a fun song!!) --Marie
I love this performance. Elvis, the band and the Jordanaires are obviously having fun, with Elvis leading all the way. He is just one of a kind.
Thank you Fil for the Elvis analysis. When good music is playing that and dancing go hand in hand. Elvis liked all kinds of entertainment and rolled it all into one. When a song of Elvis' plays I get up and sing and dance to it.
Wow, Elvis has just entered the house.
The only Goat! Naturally Gorgeous, humble, kind ans so talented! You can only smile when you see him performing! Please do more Elvis
Elvis was the absolute best!
It is always great to see an Elvis analysis and in color! Elvis was a very charismatic performer and he loved his fans. Just curious, does anyone know the make of guitar that Elvis is playing here? Also great solo by Scotty Moore and I enjoyed your guitar demonstration as well. 😊🎸🎵
Elvis body movements were with the music he could direct his band through them and add the musical surprises and spontinatty to make its sound fresh every time. OK, good supporting musicians where much of that.
Thanks for your incredible analysis of Elvis Presley and his band's performance. I appreciated how you pointed Elvis' and Scotty's guitar playing abilities. I wasn't born yet when he was in his prime but it was obvious that Elvis was an iconic figure for good reason. He was a revolutionary in music during the mid 1950s in which he brought his talent and his charisma that paved the way for rock n' roll. Thanks Fil for reminding us of this man who remains quite relevant to this day.
