I love corning ware. I have several pieces of the cornflower blue. A bunch of mine came from my grandmother. I actually use mine on a regular basis. I had not seen several of the patterns shown today. I love the brighter flowers with the primary colors. It's so pretty. Thank you for bringing my brain more knowledge! You're the best!

I accidentally bought a newer version of the large 12 x 12 (guessing, because I'm not at home, with lid, not vintage, from an estate sale by an elderly man who was working alone inside his relative's home. I did not know the value of things back then, but I bought it for about $5. It is luxurious to cook with and very expensive here now, no matter the age.

I obtained a nearly complete set of the pansy CorningWare in 1996 or 97. The plates have been run through the dishwasher so many times, they barely show the pansies any more. But the bake ware is all in good condition, as are the cups & saucers, mugs, gravy boat, salt & pepper, and several "tins". Also a teapot and a package of paper napkins! I have some juice glasses, and once had place mats. I think it must have been popular in the 80's, but you rarely see it anymore. Thanks for pointing it out, now I can tell my kids it is vintage . . .

I love cooking in my Corning Ware too. My husband accidentally broke one (I know, I should have cast him out, but he scoops litters boxes so I’ll keep him) and ironically the same week we found the exact piece at Goodwill and bought it. Back then I think it was $1.00, but it’s been 30 years. I cook everything in them, from baked chicken to green bean casserole to rhubarb crumble. I also use the small square one for the egg mixture when I make French toast. Love my Corning Ware!

The big thing that makes visions great is that you can use them in the oven, microwave and even stovetop. You can brown your meat and bake it in the same pan, put it in the fridge and reheat it in the microwave. ONE pan to wash.

Hi Dr. Lori! I've got the cornflower set, the Iris set and the matching dinnerware/sugar bowl/gravy/salt, pepper etc, and the Visions that I barely used. I preferred to use my Mom's Flint copper bottoms on the stovetop, she got them for her Bridal shower in 1958 or 59. I still use them and they look like new🙂 thanks for your video as always tons of great info!

How fun, I never knew CorningWare had a pansy print. I've started collecting the blue corn flower and it's funny because in the beginning I thought it was tacky but as I'm getting older it's very nostalgic and I appreciate the 1960s look of it. The only other pattern I will pick up is the green medallion, I recently saw a blue medallion I told myself oh no, I can't start collecting that too. I thought the medallion pattern was only sold at pennies, but online it said they were sold or offered through Shell gas? I don't know I need to do some more research on that.

I bought a huge cornflower blue pot with the lid from the 70's (no stamp on the back) that looks brand new a few days ago at a thrift store, I regret it as I read on the internet that it has lead on the blue image so it's toxic and we shouldn't use it. Is it true? If so, can you explain why it's so valuable if we can't cook with them due to the lead content? The Vision cookware was horrible. Your could only cook liquids in them.

Visions was a horrible choice, I had them Years ago, and I couldn't cook with them.

Those Visions pots were god-awful. They burned everything except water.

Have been using mine for 35+ years and would love to find more. They are great on the stovetop and in the microwave. I am sorry they did not work for you.

I do ~ and just for me! Eat a serving, refrigerate one, then freeze the rest. I work 6 days a week & made in advance meals serve me well😊

I freeze many meals too. It makes it easy on nights when I have to teach zoom online classes or when I just don't want to cook after a day of video call appraisal appointments.

I had a set of 3 Visions stove top pots, and in 1974 I was given the Corn Clower pattern, but my favorite was the California Poppy series.
