- We made ourselves comfortable at a campsite in Gillette. Ellie was able to work on the computer while Norman fixed the zippers on the tent and the rear fender on Cosmo.
But the weather is quite unpredictable, bad weather fronts are constantly appearing until we have received a tornado warning.
Luckily we were spared, but we can forget about our next destination. Yellowstone National Park is completely closed due to flooding.

Hey ihr Beiden! :) Ich fahre selber ne F800 GS und feier eure Videos ziemlich! Super sympathisch und sehr cool das bei euch Elli so viel schrauberisches Know How mitbringt. Wie bist du da reingekommen?
und noch ne Frage an dich Norman: Beim Flicken deines Kettenschutzes ist mir aufgefallen, das der ja gleich als Innenkotflügel dient. Kannst du mir sagen wo man so ein Teil bekommt?

Die F800GS bleibt uns auf der Reise immer treu, kaputt gehen darf da natürlich auch mal was haha. Und jedes mal wenn dann etwas repariert werden musste, war auch Ellie mit dabei. So hat sie Stück für Stück gelernt wie man einen Ölwechsel macht oder die Räder Ein- und Ausbaut. Ihre Abschlussprüfung war dann Steuerkette und Lenkkopflager wechseln ;).
Schau mal nach "Puig Hinterradabdeckung F800GS", das ein großes Plastikteil, Kettenschutz und Mudguard in einem. Ich fand das immer sehr gut, nur leider sind beide bei uns nach 1,5Jahren zerbrochen. Die Straßen in Alaska waren etwas zu viel...
Wir haben jetzt wieder klassisch einen Kettenschutz aus Metall und einen separaten Mudguard aus dickerem Plastik montiert. Mal sehen wie sich das macht....
