These were definitly professional plays, but I feel like there is more you could do with strategy that no one has tried before, so I propose cluster formations, all teammates grab onto one person, in a sort of triangle formation, one being the drive that everyone grabs onto, two on the sides of the drive as defenders, and one upside down under the drive on the legs holding the disk, once through the torrent of players, the two on the sides fall back and defend the drive and disc, the disc the launches off of the drive and to the goal to score while the drive falls back and defends. Not a great play but I feel like formations should be tested out more.

My friend and I play together and we constantly switch between goalie and Striker because it's easier and if ones not there the other can cover for the other guy and it really helps the team in general to be able to play all positions

Thank god for this video! I'm a quest user and echo arena was the game i was waiting months for! Then when i played it i was so disappointed. Nobody had coordination or positions or anything. I genuenely gave it up until i found this video. Glad to see the whole community isn't like that! I think ill train on the wings.
I love how similar echo vr is to other sports. If you play something like soccer or lacrosse you can take a lot of that same knowledge and apply it to echo.
Ah are you referring to the geo names or just general callouts? Strembitsky did a pretty good video over communication that you might want to check out
OMG I was going to ask the EXACT same question. I think as a general rule of thumb, the wings would look for Defender/Goalie for boosts/re-grabs and that would provide a lot of flexibility as they can be very interchangeable. In emergencies of course, if the 2 Wings for instance or nearer to each other than anyone else, and you need to get from the opponent side to your goal before they do, then by all means do it! But that SHOULD be rare, and if it happens a lot might mean that people are playing out of position to much ;)

I would also assume that these positions are not *incredibly* strict, so i feel like the two wings could definitely join to get more speed. You can't really just have one set of positions which you never break, there will always be edge cases. One thing i can imagine is the wings regrabing in the middle and then splitting off into two once they reach their side. It is important to keep in mind that i am just a random quest player tho, so i have no idea
Yeah Wiggan pretty well nailed it. These positions are very flexible. Most of Echo Arena is built on improvisation, but those chances you can move the disc with a plan significantly increase your chances of scoring. NOVA had regrab priority pairs, but it was mostly in case the two wings and maybe the defender were all right next to each other. Because the wings are typically together more often, they would get priority even over the defender in this case and try to contain the opponents until the GK/Def could get back. I think this worked for NOVA because Dim, Esend, and I all had GK experience. For teams with wings who have no GK experience, it may be better to set GK/Wing and Defender/Wing pairs.
Generally the team has agreed upon pairs, the wings would be partners and the GK and Defender would be partners. That doesn't necessarily mean that they always boost together though. Most of the time, it's best to boost with whoever is closest to you. Once you get 3 or 4 players clumped together (it does still happen), that is when you start looking for your priority pair. It helps to avoid too much confusion. I knew that once I needed a boost, I needed to find Zesper and could count on E and Dim to find each other. This solves the problem of 3 man chains which are much less efficient that 2 man chains.

This is a really helpful video, the wing approach makes a lot of sense, would love to see some deeper stuff on strategy and running plays

Thanks! We had our goalie QB in this structure. Wings played their side and the defender usually went to enemy territory depending on the play
