    In depth and explaining thought process behind issues is good, as well as testing etc. Too often people keep throwing parts without confirming what the issue is cause they do not understand how the system works

    I really enjoyed the indepth diagnosis of the system it helps me out to understand it better as currently studying lvl 3 light vehicle maintenance and recently we were studying how to diagnose a problem. These types of videos really help me out to understand how most of the engine systems work out.

    Definitely enjoyed the in depth detailed explanations Dean. The PCV valve on my A4 B7 2.0 TFSI was knackered. It was actually hissing when the engine was running. I could only hear it though with the bonnet open and my ear not far from the valve. Hissing continued for a short time after tuning off the engine until the pressure reduced. Got a new genuine VAG part. No hissing now. Also noticing the clutch judder has pretty much gone now so I suspect there was excessive pressure in the crankcase causing oil to seep out of the rear main seal. Since then had some throttle body related errors but took it for a bloody good thrashing on a several hundred mile journey a couple of weeks ago and so far the errors haven't re-occurred. Research pointed towards the throttle body re-alignment/re-adjustment process but I don't have VAG-COM or any other suitably advanced programming tool. See how it goes. Really enjoy all your videos. Do keep them going.

    Amazing video and I'm glad you explained it that way. I guess that's what most of us is looking for.
    How are you going to deal with the intercoolers and the tubes full of oil? Will you need to replace them or clean with some special product to eliminate the oil from the system?

  • @jamest5149
    @jamest5149 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome. Glad you decided to look a bit more into the CCV system, faults are common. As I mentioned the symptoms did not align with turbo failures and both turbos failing at the same time is not that common.
    The £400 part (air/oil separator) May still be faulty, these are common failure items so if the valves don’t fix the fault.
    Great content 👍

  • @MichaelPanzer
    @MichaelPanzer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think it's great that you take this approach for the video! Checking one by one and starting with the PCV system. But let's be honest, I think we already know that these amounts of oil and the missing power is basically telling us that the turbos have some issue. There is not really any other reasonable way how else that much oil should've gotten there. I know that car is hard to work on and you won't get around getting the engine out (incl. transmission) because basically every kind of engine work on that model means taking out the engine. The good thing is, if the turbos haven't destroyed themselves yet, they can just be repaired and that won't be that expensive.
    anyway, keep it up and looking forward to seeing that engine out and fixed!
