    I wish you would’ve shown the first 3 rounds of the project. The chain, single crochet round and then the first round of knit stitch.

      It's really hard to show where the "V" sits in those first stitches, that why I omitted them here. But it's exactly the same thing. Keeping your tension loose is very important!

      @@NomadStitches thank you for the tip. Those 3 first rounds are a nightmare for me when using sock yarn 😭

    Thank you so much for this! Crochet patterns haven’t really grabbed me as much as knitted accessories and garments did and I’m so pleased to have found a happy medium and not have to start taking up knitting quite yet! I found your Winter Mountain mitten pattern and I’m SOOOO glad you have a TH-cam channel!! Thank you again and for your help with these stitches!

      I am glad you like it! I have a video on the invisible join and it's done exactly the same (ie. no need to go through the middle of the st).

    I really enjoyed watching this different level of crocheting stitch. I would really like to see a tutorial on literally using color work for a similar sweater like what you showed in your video tutorial.

      It's the same exact technique. Is there something specific that you would like to see?

      Not really, unless maybe if you're alergic to alpaca. The little bit of acrylic in it makes it very wearable and it's still super warm!

    Thanks for showing us this stitch. I will try it with my new colorwork top i have just started. Do you get floats with this technique? Usually in colorwork sc i crochet over tge other yarn immediately and dont get floats.

    • @NomadStitches
      @NomadStitches  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can leave the floats loose at the back, but I like to tuck them into the sts as I go like you do too. I think it's neater!

    Thank you for this very interesting video! I only hope that i won't have trouble starting this as you don't show how the swatch starts from the beginning.

    • @NomadStitches
      @NomadStitches  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I start with a chain, like if I was using any other stitche. Then the very first row is made up of sc around. After that, you can start working in the middle of the stitch to make waistcoat stitch. The first row of Waistcoat is SO DIFFICULT sometimes becuase those first stitches are not super steady, but after that it gets much easier!

    How do you join after each round? Do you just work continously?

    • @NomadStitches
      @NomadStitches  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can work continuously in a spiral, but I prefer to join the round with a sl st in the 1st st (like you would normally, not in the V like you work wasitcoat st) and then ch1. You should check out my invisible seam video to see how I do it so that its barely noticeable at all!

      @@NomadStitches Thank you. I have just atarted the aztec sweater in cotton working continously, but I might try the invisible join on my next one. I love your pattern. It is so well made. Thank you.

    When I tried to do a waistcoat stitch. My stitch’s go the left and it does not stay inline with the previous row. Is my stitches to tight or my tension?

    • @NomadStitches
      @NomadStitches  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ashley. It happens to me a little bit, but not too much. It's possible that it has something to do with the twist in your yarn. I think you should try blocking it and see if that helps!
      xx

    Hi, Sandra! Great job! I believe you speak perfect Spanish... Am I wrong? If I'm right, you should also make videos in Spanish because there not many with the techniques you teach. I can tell because I'm from Argentina. Hope you do it! God bless you! ❤️

      Hi Marcela! Thank you for your feedback. I have been thinking about recording them in Spanish, I simply haven't had the time. But hopefully soon! xx

    I've made a scrap blanket before with this technique! You can do it in back and forth rows. The stitch just looks different from the front. Instead of going into the V that's on the front of the stitch, you go right under the top bar that connects the V strands in the front on the backside of the work. Make sure to go between the strands that are to either side just beneath that bar. It should look like an upside down V. Push through with your hook and it will then be in the middle of the V on the front. Finish your stitch, and there you go! The fabric created looks slightly different since it's worked back and forth and not in the round, but it still has a knit appearance.

      Hi!
      Thanks for your comments. I have used it when working flat, but I'm not a huge fan of the different look, though. I'm glad you liked the finished product, though! A blanket sounds amazing!
