This wasn’t technically a tool show. Just an event for TH-cam makers, influencers, and the brands associated with them. Maker’s Central is mentioned a lot, by the makers that plan to attend. If you didn’t hear about it, you’re not watching the relevant channels.
I think they are advertised decently for people in the trad but poorly for people outside of that, the amount of people I’ve met who have told me they didn’t know it existed is far too high
I'll be your website today, gotta get one, I really need to get my chisels sharpened, I keep putting that job off so so excuses now. ps, do you add water or oil to the stone?
Just an observation. I picked one of these up at makers central too. The spacer is attached to the back of the sharpener and the green piece with the handle is for holding the diamond blades to flatten the back of the chisels. Brilliant Content and in need of a good order of your foam for my tough system boxes. Cheers
@@bennen14 thanks Ben. Great observation and thank you for buying the SharpEdge at the show. I hope you enjoy using it and we'll catch up next year 😊👍

The rolling ruler is a navigation chart ruler as used on ships about 50 years ago. It is used to lay off bearings and tracks onto the charts. This is the first one that I have seen since my salty sea dog days.
@@ShadowFoam Probably out 45 years ago. You picked up a set of parallel perspex rules which effectively replaced the rolling type. A ShadowFoam layout would have been handy to stop chartwork equipment landing on the deck in heavy weather.
We found maker central 2 years ago by accident and we love it. Each time we've been, there is always something different. What I like about it is everyone is so friendly and will listen and answer any questions my children have. A fab video showing everything that we love about makers central, also love the fact you share your videos with other creators, to allow us to see how we can use them too

@@richard3004 hi Richard, that's a great shame. I have a fair amount of brilliant quality old chisels, Sheffield Steel, the newest are a set of 6 Marples chisels complete in their original box & the price in old money 43 shillings about £2 in today's money but taking inflation into account over a hundred squid. They are good quality but not as good as the older chisels which I picked up at auction many decades ago, 40 years approx. I used to have a lovely adze as well, but some charmless creep stole it. If they ever used it I hope they damaged their legs with it. 😂
@@janoginski5557really can’t beat the old stuff, myself I have a decent collection of old tools mainly woodworking even though I’m a spark by trade, but the wooden handles feel nicer in the hand, the steel is nicer and sharpens better, in general higher quality than todays stuff.

Absolutely loved this video. Getting to see these smaller businesses showing their products off is amazing. Really loved the chisel sharpener and its definitely a purchase soon for me, and that gyro cut looks super fun to use.
It was a good show. You forgot to mention just how popular the shadow foam stall was... Some very unusual tools there and great to see the level of skill and creativity that exists around the UK.

Great shows, both Shadow Foam and Maker Central, never new about it, but will look out. Particularly likes the wood chisel sharpener. My kids are always into creating and will love this 😃
