I really don't know why this channel doesn't have a hell of a lot more subscribers. Great work though John and team at Curated TV, best wishes from Scotland.
2 years late to the party, but Holy Crap, I know this car. Not in any great historical detail, but 6:14 clinched it for recognition. My family attended the Pocono/Daytona "Le Belle Macchine" events for something approaching 20 years running, and we got to know a Father/Son from the Northeast who attended. The father drove a black Countach (on the track too, lol), and the son (not at first, but eventually) drove this exact 348. Nice guys. I'm curious if this is being restored for a customer, or if he did eventually sell it. I have a ton of photos of this car from those events. Feel free to reach out if that would help anything. No actual challenge race photos, but on track etc.
There are some similar and also rare wheels I've seen on Ferrari 355s in BPR racing: the OZ BPR GT Racing Wheels. They have thicker spokes and a single wheel nut instead of the 5. I've seen a few modern imitations but none really come close-enough that I wouldn't notice the difference.
Must admit, I was a little put off by the stereotypical TH-camr 'what's up guys?' intro, but I kept watching and it turned out to be a very interesting, well-made and informative video by someone who knows and cares about the cars he's talking about. Is there going to be a next part where we see you fixing up the car?
Hello, I recently bought a 348 Challenge with normal interior. Do you have interior parts (OMP seat, OMP 4-point belt, roll cage, MOMO steering wheel, fire extinguisher, etc), please contact me. I am also looking for pictures of the battery in the front compartment. Greetings, Paul
Yes. "Factory" prepared 348C were only 1994 models. However, the only factory difference between a normal road car and the Challenge was factory installation of the roll cage mounts and and seat harness mounts. That's it. The dealer then installed the Challenge kit. "Factory" is prepared cars all came with a full road car interior. (ps, I managed the Lake Forest team, and built a bunch of these racecars).
That Jalpa is incredible
Glad to see someone show the 348 some love. So many people give it such a hard time.
