Can you add solar panels to it as you are not showing it at the back
Hands down the best inverter to get. It's even better when you linking up into the DB Board in the house with switch over box.
It is nice linked up as you then get lights on as well

Hello and thanks for the video. I discovered it recently while shopping for larger ah batteries. Not knowing to much about electricity and hoping you would, do you think it will blow up the inverter to replace the 100ah batteries with 2x 200ah batteries? My understanding is that charging time will be longer and that the inverter doesnt care about larger batteries but only about system voltage ie. In this case 24v or type of deep cycle ie. Calcium vs lithuim? Thanks again!
According to the manual for this unit you have to install a 75Amp, 24V DC breaker on the positive line between battery bank and inverter. Where did you find this and how did you install it?
The unit has a built in breaker for load protection on the unit itself. I have looked at the combined integrated Mecer unit and it does not have an isolator installed and thus i have used it myself in that way. If you do need a breaker, you can get one at any electrical spares shop - drop me an email on enq.alternate@gmail.com and I can send you a list of places.

No, it needs to be a 24v or 2 12v batteries for this unit

For this, you require a qualified electrician to perform the installation and make the necessary isolation and change over to the circuits.
What about a 45watts printer . The printer is only used about to print 10 pages and then it won't be used again for that day if there is a power outage. It's for home use work from home situation. Can you please advise if the 2000va mercer one like this is good enough . Thanking you

I can connect 4 12v batteries, that is 2 in series and 2 in parallel?
Yes you can, you connect two sets in series which will give you a pair of 24v batteries and then jump them into parallel to each other. Please check your final output before plugging it into the inverter.

Hi Can I connect 2 x 230AH batteries to the 2400 VA inverter and if so how long do you reckon will they last during a power outage?
You certainly can. Basically you will be going from a 105AH 24v system to more than double that @ 230AH. So it will last twice as long. Depending on what you run during this time, it can last anywhere from 4 hours to 20 or more hours.
May you please make a video where you are using things like heaters, electric blankets and fans, I have the ellies one and would like to exchange the inverter to this meccer one if it's able to run those other things.
Also, am I able to add 2 batteries to the system so I have more off-line power to run more appliances?
You can add on more items but that will make the duration longer, not power more items. Fort more items you need a bigger inverter - if you are running at the max

correct, the big box on wheels holds the batteries which provides the new power source for your items
Can I request a tutorial on how you hook up the batteries to the unit ?
It's really easy. Positive to negative using the jumper lead. Then positive to the inverter using the red cable and negative to the inverter using the black cable. The next one I put together I will take a quick video
@@alternatesolutions2408 I just connected mine today, got worried when it sparked a bit while connecting the positive to the inverter unit - the supplier assured me that's all normal :) first time connecting one up and it worked out alright.
As someone who has not done this before, it took a bit of figuring out, but I learnt a lot.
@@waseemsabjee the spark is surprising and not ideally great for the unit. The capacitors inside are charging up and it’s receives a large amount of amps causing the spark. I recommend using a resistor in-line when charging them up to control the amps through the unit. You just need it for a few seconds then there’s no spark.
is it suitable for hair-clippers or will i get a poor and weak vibration?

Just one question, should I keep the inverter plugged in and switched on all the time?
Yes if you can. If you can’t and there isn’t load shedding or power outs for a long period, then atleast once a month turn it on and let it charge up. Also allow it to run once every 2 to 3 months and run down to 50% and charge it back up just to cycle through the batteries else the batteries end up dying
I bought mine and i tried switching it on without the batteries but it doesn't switch on to show that it's working, so can this mean there is a manufacture problem
pretty sure you need the batteries for it work; usually the seller will test it for you first to show it working with batteries before you walk out the door...

Hi there, no I don’t but it isn’t hard. On battery one take the negative and to the positive of battery two. Then the remaining open ends of each battery, positive on battery one goes to + on inverter and then the neg on battery two goes to the neg on the inverter. There might be a slight spark on first contact as the capacitors charge up. I use a resistor or breaker to prevent that from happening.
@@alternatesolutions2408 Thanks, sorry what I actually should have asked was does the big batteries come with cables (positive and negative wires) or does one need to buy that separately. If I need to buy what does the ends look like, are they like jumper cable type clips
@@stanceworks7995 ah yes the inverter comes with the cables. They are 10mm eye lugs and bolt onto the battery posts and 8mm on the inverter side.

So what happens if the geyser and fridge is on since it's connected to the wall?
It will trip and sound a buzzer due to over load

There is a solar charge controller that needs to be purchased then you can.

Yes absolutely and more, like a TV, charge a laptop etc.
thats why im on here as well. especially when loadshedding is in the middle of the night. Loadshedding is costing me more money than anything else to get things like this
What is the 3 lights in front for
Green Solid - The inverter is on line power (Wall power or "Eskom" power) and the battery is fully charged.
Green Flash every 5-10 seconds - The inverter is on line power, the battery is charging.
Orange - The unit is on inverter mode, running on battery power. The line power is disconnected.
Red - Fault mode, either unit has surged and blown up or it has been overloaded by a larger load than it can handle being plugged in, such as a kettle.

@@1Sbuys we do smaller UPS type solutions, that’s more to shut down but if it’s a laptop we can support that as well.
