Now would be a good time to show the results.
We used a pro-drive with an ATV spreader on the front. Spread it in 2 feet of water so the woodies and Black bellied whistlers can't get it. After almost 1.5 - 2 weeks the rice will be rooted and 5 - 6 inches tall from the bottom. Drop the water to expose the rice plants. Works like a charm.

I have owned 11 different Duck Club’s. One year I planted 15 acres of domestic rice like they are doing next to a 90 acre cornfield. Never saw a duck in the rice one time. Corn is king
Got an update for how it worked? Also, what seed did you use (if it worked) for use southerners?
I live in the northwest Oregon what month would you do this to be ready for oct through end of January season?
Soak the seed first before you broadcast it. You want it to sink to the bottom as you distribute it. You guys are awesome!

Soak your rice for a day in water and then put it out. Works well in GA.

Rice farms in Northern California flood their fields for duck hunting after harvest. I've seen stupid money made just for duck clubs. I've only been the grunt labor though turning steering wheels and wrenches. Using the equipment was worth it though. And will be again in fall.
Thanks for the video. It could help feed a lot of families. Rice is like a salt block for deer. Or deer for a bear 😂

Where is part 2?
Wonder how deep a water you can plant that rice in? Anybody know? I got few farm ponds on my papa's land that are filled in, depth from 4 inches of water to 6 foot!!! But if I could plant something for the ducks at least around edges I would but don't know nothing about it
One of the biggest keys in planting duck plots/crops is water control. These guys have ways to bring in water, or let water out. If there’s a way for you to do that on your papas farm pond… you will be in business. Japanese millet is another great crop for ducks. But you need the same ability to raise and lower the water
That be great to do if everybody could afford a 30.000 dollar track machine .
Or a pair of waders it's not that hard at all
Or just get out there and walk around in it and broadcast by hand
