I’m with you on this one. I have both the gold and the steel nib and I like them both so much! Pound for pound at the price point, this pen is amazing!
Sweet review. As you rotate the pen around 15:00 onward, the nib looks sprung - the tines are separated and the nib has lifted from the feed. I suspect the nib shouldn't be pushed as hard as in the review for line variation. I saw another review of the 14k version and they got some line variation but it didn't look sprung after.

I am so grateful to you for this review. I'm a fan of flex nibs, the owner of many vintage pens but I am always in search of a working, soft nib for everyday use. Your review of this pen ticked all the boxes for me and as a result, I now own THREE 630s (!) I too had issues posting the cap on the teal-coloured cigar-shaped pen, and despite assurances of a replacement cap from the Ali Express supplier, there's been no resolution on that score. However, I got a black version from a different source (Etsy) and the posting was MUCH better. THEN! found the flat-cap/transparent body version, bought one and the posting situation is perfect! There is even an almost 'click' in place putting the cap/clip in line with the nib. I see variation in the nibs (some feeling more like a western M than F) but nothing I could possibly complain about w.r.t. performance. Smooth, consistent, and a joy to write with. Thanks again! I also find this pen one of the best for staying wet and ready-to=use if left unused for weeks at a time. Like my Pilot pens, I can reach for it at any time and know it will write.
@@ForTheLoveOfPens I prefer to avoid getting ink on my fingers if I can avoid it,hence my strong preference for piston fillers. A little more difficult to clean. That said the converter on the 9019, is a good reason to buy the demonstrator models. The Pilot Con70 is also an excellent converter.
The Pineider traveling inkwell has two holes on the side of the box to show the minimum and maximum size of the pens that fit. It does not claim to fit all pens.😊
I picked up a WIng Sung 630 not long ago and it is very well-constructed and feels solid. The nib, however, had misaligned tines and needed some smoothing before it would write properly. It writes very well now and I have it inked up even as I type this. I would recommend it but I would caution a person that the nibs are a bit hit-and-miss. Thanks for the video!
Sorry to hear you had the issues with the tines! While this isn't an ultra-budget pen, it is still very affordable. So Quality Control could be a concern; I may have gotten lucky with my unit.

I have just received my Wing Sung flat top - it fits into Visconti Traveller Inkwell (dry test, for now I have inked from a Franklin-Christoph ink bottle). For me, problem solved. And yes - the nib is fantastic, even for a B/BB preferring dude like me.
I would like to see the comparison between the three. I do have all 3 models but would be very interested in your assessment. I did pull the nib and feed from the assembly. It is a friction fit but is very, very tight and reinserting the nib and feed is very difficult. It is a good idea not to try it. The notches in the nib assembly is to use a special wrench to remove the nib assembly which you did with your fingers.

LoL, it is a bit challenging to flex over the camera. I pushed a little too far doing the horizontal strokes at the end of the writing sample, luckily the tines came right back in place.
My fountain pen cap for my vacuum filler fountain pen broke apart awhile ago so I will need to use a JB Weld brand cyanoacrylate adhesive to put it back together.

The clip broke apart from the cap, the vacuum filler feels too stiff to push and pull, and for some reason, way too much ink oozes out from the grip section excessively, which is not normal. Obviously, I would need to spend some money to purchase cyanoacrylate adhesive glue to put the cap back together.
Sounds like a lot of issues, sorry to hear it. I’m working on a review of my Custom 823 right now and I’ll show a full disassembly of it. Maybe there’s something out of place on your unit.
Good thorough review. Do you know if the nib unit (housing) would fit in the Jinhao x159 or the 9019? That Fine in your pen looks broader and stronger than the Jinhao Medium nibs in my two pens. (Would really prefer a Broad or a BB nib, but the Chinese manufacturers don't seem inclined to go in that direction.)
Thank you! Unfortunately the nib units aren’t swappable, they have completely different threads. I just compared the M Jinhao with this “F” from Wing Sung. Line widths are pretty comparable, but the Wing Sung is much wetter and can flex (to a degree). I agree with you on broader nibs, but I think it’ll be rare and far between because Chinese characters usually require a finer line. Last resort, you could grind away the tipping material and turn the nibs into stubs.
Someone said they have a separate wrench, but all it does is give you grip to rotate the collar. I guess the nib and feed are a very tight friction fit.

@@jimkrieger776 I had trouble removing it, and my nib writes so nicely I didn’t want to risk damaging it. I have seen some AliExpress stores selling the nib by itself for under 10USD
@@jimkrieger776 You can unscrew the nib assembly without a lot of trouble but removing the nib and feed from the collar isn't easy. I soaked mine in warm soapy water and it was still a pain. Proceed with caution.
Does Wing Sung put this pen out with a medium nib. I've only been able to find Fine (although one vendor hedges his bets saying it's 0.5mm-0.7mm so its a lottery).
I’ve only seen it listed with 1 nib size, but the nib doesn’t have a marking on it. I’ve seen it advertised as a fine, but to me it writes more like a medium.

The Parker Sonnet is a thinner pen, but it writes extremely good. I was pleasantly surprised by the Wing Sung pen. My Parker Sonnet has a broad nib, and it writes like a dream, while the Wing Sung has got a medium nib. It`s a pretty big pen, but it writes very good. It`s wet, and quite easy to write with. I have never tried a real montblanc pen before, but people who has tried both pens say that the Wing Sung is equally good. I hope they produce more colors, and nib variations. When they start producing broad wing sung pens i will get one.

I use a blunt syringe to fill up pens that are like this - just pop off the nib unit, and basically fill it like you would an eyedropper

Nib is bouncy which is unique and build of the pen feels more substantial compared to Jinhao X159

I had the same thing happen to my Wing Sung 629 top finial. I’ve been a lot more hesitant to disassemble caps since.
