For a relatively new owner of an MT-01, having someone as awesome as this legend of a man to show me how to maintain my bike is a real blessing. Thank you very much good sir...
So after you complete this exercise you now have oily fingers, oily Allen wrench and confirmed that if you loosen an oil gallery bolt, oil will now out drip out. If you are worried about oil pressure, install an oil pressure gauge.
Had my MT01 for 14 years and still love the big old beast. Great vid as I'm looking to change the air filter shortly (after spending £998 on chain, sprockets, fork seal replacement, brake pads etc.... big repair bill but other than servicing, tyres and a few starter solenoids - its been very cheap to run for many years. I notice from your oil pressure segment that your V cover on the crankcase has lost the paint on the right hand side, which has also happened to mine recently... is there any fix for this or just buy a new cover?
yeah at around £60 a pop for a K&N filter buy the cleaner kit take a day to clean and wash dry and re oil. my Vmax 1700 is the same no oil pressure gauge but you can buy a kit that taps into the sump with a braded hose and pressure gauge i will have to have a look at my MT01 to see if one will fit on Ash
Thanks for the tutorial, Informative and straight to the point!
Nicely done sir!
Thank you

Well, thanks so much for your kind words really happy I can help out
SUPER Film, dzięki za niego, będę mógł bez obaw wymienić filtr powietrza. Pozdrawiam.
Thank you
Thanks for the video tutorial!! I prefer the OEM airfilter. I use to change it every 3 oil changes.
They were very expensive and needed shipping from Germany unfortunately so stuck with K & N

@nightmareuk69 thanks for the comment, I guess you could get it off and resprayed. It happens to most the laquer is very thin...
Take the cover to any alloy wheel repair shop
Hi I normally wash the K&N filter out with there cleaning kit that’s the idea of them lasting for years saving money 👍
Yeah in hindsight I should have just cleaned it. But I had already brought it and piece of mind knowing it's new
@@tomstc I se what you mean it is easier just to replace them it can be a mucky job 👍🏍️

Nice one
So you know if anyone that makes a larger fuel tank for the MT01?
Despite lots of research no, there have been a few modified ones
Could you fit a pressure gauge to one of those gallery bolts?
I don't think so 🤔
Would probably struggle with heat too
I have a MT 01 and find this a bit of a joke, no oil pressure switch or light, your engine would die before you could do anything
Yeah its a bit daft on a modern bike, however I think most bikes would die before you get any lights anyway
k&n air filter should not be thrown away but cleaned and oiled and is reusable
by the way I'm still waiting for the video tutorial on changing the LED bulbs, hahahaha Remember?
Haha, I remember 🤣
