Today’s video is an excerpt from one of our recent Creative X Crew office hours, and it’s all about payment terms and pricing. While this isn’t a thorough pricing guide for freelancers, it does cover many valuable aspects about pricing that freelancers should consider and think about. Knowing how to set your freelance rate, pricing freelance packages, and how much to charge clients is an important skill for any entrepreneur looking to start or thrive in their business. Know your worth and your work’s worth.
Some of the freelance pricing tips we cover in this video revolve around knowing your offer, not looking desperate, setting timelines for payment, and being firm not only in your negotiating but in what you need to complete a project. Pricing your services can be daunting if you’ve never done it before but understanding the logistics behind pricing can help. What resources do you need? What value are you delivering? How will this impact the potential client? Follow the freelance pricing strategies in this video and you’ll be more confident the next time you’re thinking of onboarding a new client or project.

SOLID advice! I'm a big believer in 100% upfront, and only IF it's a deal-breaker, then 50% upfront and 50% on an agreed-upon date BEFORE completion.
This also weeds out fussy clients. If they are difficult with this, then = 🚩🚩🚩

Great approach to something I've always struggled with - communicating one's value to the client.

Great video - thanks. I don't know if you mentioned it, but how do you go about the yearly subscription fees for editor x and explaining to the client, that they will have to pay around 200.- a year just to run the website? I imagine many clients won't understand, why they should be paying "extra" every year, for a website they already paid you to make in the first place... what's your way of handling this issue? Thank you very much!

Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you found the video helpful. If you want to build websites for clients, then yes, they will need to pay subscription fee to have access to pro features such as access to business tools like a custom domain name, email marketing, analytics, invoicing, custom members area, and an online store, to name just a few valuable features.
It's important to be transparent about this with your clients from the start. In my experience, the best way to handle this issue is to make sure your clients understand the value that they are getting with the yearly subscription. With Editor X, they are getting access to a powerful no-code website creation platform that allows them to easily manage their own websites, plus they have access to other valuable business tools to grow and manage their business. This can save them a lot of time and money in the long run, and make it easier for them to make updates and changes to their website as needed.
Additionally, the subscription fee also includes access to customer support and regular updates and improvements to the platform. And it's important to remember that, even if your clients decide to use a different website creation tool, they will still have to pay for hosting, subscriptions to certain plugins, etc. in order to have a website online. So, while the yearly subscription fee may seem like an extra cost, websites are never free, and in the case of Editor X, you get so much more bang for your buck.
Editor X also offers various pricing options to suit the needs of your clients. So, depending on their specific needs and budget, they may be able to find a subscription plan that works for them. Ultimately, it's up to your clients to decide whether or not the yearly subscription fee is worth it for them. But by being transparent about the cost and highlighting the value that they are getting, you can help them make an informed decision.
      Hope that helps!
