Thanks CPU, 200 miles by the time we got back to Leicestershire. Enjoyed the run out, loads of bikers out everywhere. Biker cafes getting some good custom! Cheers, ride safe, Daz.
Thanks John, its an hour for me so a great local destination to get some riding in, definitely agree, just as soon as this freakish wet weather passes I think we all need to get some miles under our belts! 👍
Was a good days riding & lots of bikers out & about. The photographers must have made a few pound 🙂. Thin blue line : have to support them 👍. I'm just doing a East to West ride through the Yorkshire Dale's National Park & The Forest of Bowland, nice ride, I'll have a vid posted in a week or so 👍
Crikey I didn't know that! I just researched...'The B-29 named 'Overexposed' a Superfortress bomber was on it's way to Burtonwood from RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire. It crashed on the moorland on 3rd November 1948. Unfortunately, all 13 crew members lost their lives in the crash. Many parts of the aircraft have survived the harsh weather conditions of Bleaklow & are still very well preserved today.
There are numerous wrecks around the Peak District, I've been to most of them over the last 40yrs. The B29 wreck is one of the most spectacular, if that's the right word and the easiest to find being fairly close to the trig point. There's a Lancaster wreck within half a mile of this plus several to the East on Bleaklow but they're getting hard to find now as they've gradually been picked clean by souvenir hunters. Search out "Dark Peak Aircraft Wrecks" book 1 and 2 if you're interested. There's a Gloucester Meteor on Hagside within 10mins walk from Fairholmes carpark at Derwent dam, which is probably the easiest to get to but little remains of it now.
@@Potatoman7 thanks, I'm all about telling people about where to ride & good roads to ride. Of course to get the best from them its good to be zble to go when its not so busy mid week, off season & in good weather but sometimes those opportunities especially here in the UK don't come around so easy. Ive posted a few other routes on my channel, the Lakeland Route is a good one 👍
Was a cracking weekend for the biking community, never seen so many groups of bikers, might have been the first proper ride out for a few after the crap weather. Here's to a great summer of bike touring 👍. Thanks for your comment John, a good playground for you there in the Peaks. Ride safe, Daz.
A really nicely made vid. Recognise most of the roads as the wife and I are often up in the Peak District, mostly on the hunt for cake. Thanks for the share.
I tried out the route today, did a long day from mk to peak District and back, I went directly to cat and fiddle and then made my way up to snake pass. The reservoir, there was a diversion near Whaley bridge , but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed myself
@@krishnack79 thats great to hear, u picked a good day weather wise. There always seems to be road repairs that way, 2 sections collapsed recently between Buxton & Whaley Bridge, I believe they have repaired one but the other is ongoing. I was letdown today by Ducati for a test ride on a bike so decided to go on a ride myself. I did the 'Ludlow South Loop', a good run out 👍
Thanks bud appreciate your kind comment. It was a great ride made all the more enjoyable with other bikers flocking to the Peaks for the bank holiday weekend. Ill be back soon! Ride safe, Daz.
🤣 yes thats a nice choice to have Troopz 👍. Ideally I'd of gone out of bank holiday time but couldn't resist the biking weather plus a friend wanted his first ride out this year. To get the full satisfaction of that area take a day off mid week when the roads are quieter, trust me you won't regret it 😉. Ride safe & thanks for your comment Troopz, Daz 👍.
Its commented on frequently Roy. Some suggest being modest on the straights then enjoying the twists & turns. There is a suggestion to take a separate road near the Cat & Fiddle, to come back onto that road thus evading the average speed camera.
You certainly got around that day. Thx for the share.

At the summit of Snake pass there is a walk to the site of a crashed B29. I believe much of the wreckage is still there 80 odd years later.

I went to see this awhile back, would definitely recommend going if you’re interested in that sort of thing😊

More great content Darren. Thank you.
Thanks Chris, after several hours I felt at home on the FG850, similar in many ways to my 1250. Hope you are well & I appreciate your comments, Daz.
Enjoyed the Video❤
Thank's for your kind comment 👍.
Snake Pass. Brilliant. First went up there on a CB400F in 1980!
Yeah I love riding it too Mark, very scenic ride & a definite diversion if touring to the north or south for that matter 👍
Peaks on my doorstep being from Barnsley, it's good seeing some of my favourites.

Most of roads ruined by average speed cameras
