- Awesome motorcycling around the Peak District National Park! I ride the awesome 'Cat & Fiddle Road', the 'Snake Pass' & the 'A5004' roads this bank holiday weekend. Thousands of other motorcyclists also take to these fabulous roads incorporating fabulous bends & scenery in this beautiful landscape in Derbyshire, England.
Initially stopping at Matlock, a well known bikers stop off. We then ride the 'Cat & Fiddle', the A5004 to Buxton then to the 'A57 Snake Pass' & see 'Biker Pic's photographing bikes as they enjoy riding the road.
A last stop off at 'Derwent Reservoir' for a photo to conclude this great motorcycle ride.

Snake Pass. Brilliant. First went up there on a CB400F in 1980!
Yeah I love riding it too Mark, very scenic ride & a definite diversion if touring to the north or south for that matter 👍
At the summit of Snake pass there is a walk to the site of a crashed B29. I believe much of the wreckage is still there 80 odd years later.
Crikey I didn't know that! I just researched...'The B-29 named 'Overexposed' a Superfortress bomber was on it's way to Burtonwood from RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire. It crashed on the moorland on 3rd November 1948. Unfortunately, all 13 crew members lost their lives in the crash. Many parts of the aircraft have survived the harsh weather conditions of Bleaklow & are still very well preserved today.
I went to see this awhile back, would definitely recommend going if you’re interested in that sort of thing😊

Peaks on my doorstep being from Barnsley, it's good seeing some of my favourites.

🤣 yes thats a nice choice to have Troopz 👍. Ideally I'd of gone out of bank holiday time but couldn't resist the biking weather plus a friend wanted his first ride out this year.

I tried out the route today, did a long day from mk to peak District and back, I went directly to cat and fiddle and then made my way up to snake pass. The reservoir, there was a diversion near Whaley bridge , but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed myself
@@krishnack79 thats great to hear, u picked a good day weather wise. There always seems to be road repairs that way, 2 sections collapsed recently between Buxton & Whaley Bridge, I believe they have repaired one but the other is ongoing. I was letdown today by Ducati for a test ride on a bike so decided to go on a ride myself. I did the 'Ludlow South Loop', a good run out 👍
Peak District or north wales ?
Ooh thats put me on the spot 🤣🤔...they are awesome in their own right but if I had to say... .North Wales.
Most of roads ruined by average speed cameras
Its commented on frequently Roy. Some suggest being modest on the straights then enjoying the twists & turns. There is a suggestion to take a separate road near the Cat & Fiddle, to come back onto that road thus evading the average speed camera.
