    Suffered through the traffic mess when it was being built back in the 90's although the majority of the work was done at night. Surasak Station is quite busy as you have two huge private schools near there being Bangkok Christian College and Assumption Convent.

    • @BangkokPat
      @BangkokPat  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Saint Louis station has taken up a bit of overspill from Chong Nonsi & Surasak. Bangkok was messy during construction, traffic was a mess as you say, but it'll take a hell of a lot to get people out of their cars here. Convenience isn't a good enough incentive when you can be seen driving a car.

    Tip to visitors. If you are staying in the center of the city don't automatically assume that taking the BTS to Saphan Taksin and orange flag boat is the best way to go to the Grand Palace. The MRT from Asoke to Sam Yot might be better, especially if you are getting an early start to beat the crowd on a weekend or holiday as the orange flag boats get a late start then. The walk from Sam Yot to Grand Palace isn't that long.

Also love the accent from the O'l Dart, tell me as a Brit you must be missing those real cask ales, the real deal from CAMRA, with so many Brits over there I am surprised no one has started to brew these British style cask ales, maybe they do undercover but there would be a good market for those. Good video about the Skytrain. Two things that bug me about the system. Is that the Skytrain and the subway are different systems and you have to pay separately. The other is that at most stations there is only one machine that takes bills and most of the time it's broken. So bring coins or you have to go to the counter.
