over 16 years of world of warcraft and I come over here and my brain is MUSH. I've watched all 4 beginner vids and I don't know HOW everyone keeps up with all this! great vids! I don't think I'm capable of drinking from a firehose! :P
Please make a video on the subject of post lvl 80 guide such as where to start off in the right direction. Most other videos seem outdated and with the new expansion coming up it would be a great subject to cover.
This is a really great video. I been playing since launch, and never bothered digging into some details you explain here (eg light vs heavy defense difference = 15% direct damage, randomness on weapons in PvE, etc)
On a constant level basis (let´s say 80) ferocity is strictly linear. Ham sandwich is a bit broad of a term. toasted, not toasted, with of without cheese, do you like pickles or are you a horrible person?
@@kevin3369 Well, good to know. Here is one way. Proper bread, very slightly toasted slices, proper Cheddar, but older Gouda or any other medium strong cheese is always an option. Proper Ham, grill bread, cheese and Ham. Or put into microwave (you´ll have to put both sides into pan after microwaving). Slice pickles Finely. For best results use a mayonnaise with added mustard. Put both on the ham. If you are more inclined towards fruity ffavors Ketchup will do the trick, but a mix of reduced tomatoes and a bit of Worcestershire Sauce might be better. Hope this helps. Imho, Ham sandwiches are a perfect topic to really tryhard! The Meta is pretty open.
It would be nice if you could explain currencies as well. What I mean by this is, what is the general concept (global vs map currency vs volatile magic and stuff like that), what they are good for and also maybe a recommendation on how you spend them. As a returning player I'm a bit overwhelmed by the amount of currencies which are in the game now a days 😅
The best way to explain how Magic Find works is that it's a multiplier on the normal drop rate, I.E. if an enemy has a 3% chance to drop an Exotic item and you have 300% Magic Find it will result in a (3% + (3% x 300% = 9%)) 12% drop rate
@@firby7341 1000% does NOT double it, it automatically bumps it up to the next rarity (I.E. if you would've naturally gotten an Uncommon (Green) item to drop, it would be replaced with a Rare (Yellow)
what exactly is the relationship between condition damage and duration. Duration stacks additively but damage stacks multiplicatively, Does that mean duration is almost always more powerful than damage so long as they dont have infinite cleansing?
Condi damage and condi duration are both additive in their nature meaning if you add more and more of each stat on top of what you have the percentual gains will become smaller (example: 1100/1000 > 2100/2000 or 110/100 > 200/190). If you look at the combination of condi damage and condi duration to determine which stat is more valuable it gets interesting. Due to both stats having additive properties this becomes a dynamic calculation and you have to look at each condi damage/condi duration combination seperately. For example excluding any modifiers if you had 2000 Condition damage and 0% Bleeding duration you'd see that adding 1 point of Expertise is superior to adding 1 point of Condition Damage to increase the overall Bleeding damage you inflict - assuming no damage is being wasted. However if you keep adding more and more Expertise you will reach a breakpoint where adding 1 Condition Damage will become superior again. For PvE (fractals/raiding etc.) since you reach very high levels of condition damage from all the boons/gear it is always worth to go for Expertise until you cap a certain condition duration at 100%.
Hello Teapot, I'm a member, having fun though. My simple question is " How can I get to the pane that shows my gear I'm donning? ie, pants, shirt , weapon, things like that. Thx.
How does weapon strength compare with power for damage? I have a Berserker's Krait Slayer and Ventari's Claymore. Ventari's Claymore is Nomads, all defensive stats but higher weapon strength. Berserker's Krait Slayer has power. Which should I use? For argument sake I can't just change Ventari's Claymore into Zojja' at the mystic toilet. Let's say I can use my Berserker's Krait Slayer or borror the Ventari's Claymore from a healing character.
With the idea of certain weapons benefitting more from power than others... how can I tell? Sorry if thats in the video and I just missed it. Is there a wiki for it? thanks.
How can i tell if boon duration is working? I'm new and playing a scrapper. when i hover over my shredder gyro the tool tip says "Superspeed(5s)....max duration: 10s" so i assume if i get 50% boon duration then it should say "Superspeed(5s)..." but this number doesn't change no matter how much concentration i add. i even tried counting the buff time after i use the skill. still 5s
Question. I am making a bunch of ascended armor/weapon trinket sets. I have made Berserker, Diviner's, Marauder's, and Viper's. What else would be good to make? I play all classes and PVE and WVW. Thanks!
Why does every character of yours have damaged armor? Great video, great voice, etc. Yet I can't stop looking at your broken gear wondering "does he not see that, lol? He made a professional tutorial video series but he can't even notice when his gear is damaged". Idk
@@MightyTeapot Hm, how did they get to the "base damage" values displayed on the Wiki? Since they don't align with the power coefficient + base power (at least not for either Lvl1 or 80). And why display that at all, rather than just the coefficient in that case?
Started a guild for new players made by new players lmk if you want to join have 5 players rn and we play everyday comment your in game name I’ll add you 🙏🏽
as far as i can tell gear has absolutely 0 effect on your damage, survivability or anything when it comes to arena. when i change pieces, stats stay the same, when i remove all gear, hp and all stats stay the same aside from armor, so idk WTF you're talking about gear means nothing in pvp unless you're below the min scaling.(as far as I can tell) scaling is one the features i hate most in an mmorpg. it invalidates all the work you've done.
This was fabulously comprehensive. I just started playing and I'm 52 but I was able to watch this video without my eyes crossing. Thank you.
Thanks teapot, I've been playing the game for just a mere 8 days and this is really helpful information!

Up to this one, also add which gear should we invest in first? Weapon? Armor? Trinkets? Ascended gears?

do you have a good recipe for a ham sandwich? oh and does ferocity have diminishing returns

Do you suggest brand new players watch guides or go through the game blind at first?
As a new player to the game, is it a good idea to use max level boost in earlier part of the game?
Thanks, Teapot
What is the game at 4:41? :0
Destiny!
Are those weird unknown gear prefixes like Rabid, Sinister, Seraph used in any way?
Those are not the weird ones. Imagine having a stat with prec vital and expertise
Seraph sees play on some niche builds like condi druid or hybrid firebrand. Rabid can be powerful in some certain high sustain solo play condi builds!
Good stuff
