We are not demanding or have insane expectations about quality, we just like certain things, and companies don't want to provide those. That's why many indie games that developed by small groups of people are successful. We don't want political content, lecturing, attacks, or blaming men for liking attractive female characters. It's more about the fact that mainstream creators don't want to make something fun, but rather agenda-driven. We have not ruined gaming, tourists who came to change our hobby are the ones who did it. We just stopped buying their games since the content is not what we like.

I haven't given up on anything, except the western AAA games industry. The simple truth that the industry has yet to reckon with, is that GG2 takes no effort on our part. The games they are making are complete trash, we have no desire to play them, and thus no desire to buy them. It's not a struggle for me to not buy Unknown-9 or Dustborn, i don't want it, so i just don't buy it. Which means we can keep this up as long as it takes. They are not going to wear us out, i still won't want to buy this slop 10 years from now, 20 years from now, 50 years from now. They can't outlast us.

Dude Bobby Kotick didn’t know the first thing about video games, he just knew how to make slop and kick it out the door, he knew that Call of Duty would sell if you shit in a box and called it CoD, as long as you made a new one every year, what he couldn’t do was allow good games the time or money they needed to finish, and once he milked every IP Blizzard had, he ran out the door.

the fact that people havent figured this out years ago baffles me. The costumer always holds the power without the costumer buying the product the product itself always dies and there is no way they can force costumers ( aka gamers) to buy something we dont want. So they are fighting a losing battle they can never win the harder they try and push us in one direction the harder we will go the oposite way, and for people saying then we wont have any games to play... ever heard of market competition? because if the western developers wont deliver what the costumers want the eastern market will and even if they get the eastern developers to shove Dei into our games then people will go towards indie developers so they can never win no matter how hard they try.

Instead of nintendo making a literally hail Mary with a game called final fantasy, we have 1000 studios taking this leap in the form of indie games. And quite frankly, it's all thanks to steam early access that enough small companies got the recognition they needed to compete in the market place once triple aaa studios drank the kool aid

you say people (game studios/publishers) are doing this to increase their profit margin, but that makes no sense, if they were eyeing profit, they would do what people want. whatever these people are up to, profit is far, far away from it.
If you have 500 devs and your next game will require 600, but the game after will go back to 500, you will not hire 100 extra devs, but you will outsource from a company the work that 100 devs should have done. So you will always have the core devs and you will keep the know how and grow it in the company and you will pay for extra support every now and then when you need it. If you fluctuate your core voluntary, you highly increase the risk of failing the company, because your best resource is motivated people with experience.
My 2024 was great i broke 200 hours in Neverwinter Nights and have likely anothte 100 hours to 100%. Plus my new computer ro try out one of those 500GB mod list for skyrim. Oh well guess Star field and Fail Gaurd has to wait.

Even though I totally support the slogan to make games not politics i am always suprised how so many people are convinced that oversexualised woman are an indication for a good game and the lack thereof must be a woke disaster. Maybe it is comparable to buying a playboy magazine - even if the articles are bad as long as the Girl of the month is hot the (male) consumer is happy, whereas if you get a magazine that is all about its writing content and it is bad then you will regret buying it. So as i understand it if you deliberately skip the Girl of the month you better make sure your articles are great. However - judging by the comments - many people here don't seem to be able to enjoy a magazine without the girl of the month and that is sad.
Ugly character models are a red flag and good character models are an easy way to get people into your game, but they definitely doesn’t make a good game necessarily, gameplay has to be good too, otherwise people will leave as fast as they joined.
