- In this video we look at the beautiful Sansui SR-929, probably their best ever turntable, and the Audio Technics AT-OC9 mk3, which I'm installing on this deck.

The holy grail of sansui turntables. Gorgeous piece though probably not worth the money they sell for these days.
Yes, very nice decks indeed, though I would maybe disagree and say I think they are worth it, especially when you look at what else you can get new for say $1000AUD. Having said that, I would take a KD-600 or 650 over the Sansui any day!
Liquid Audio if I could find one for 1k I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Most I see sell for over 1500 aud
There's one on, or recently on Stereo.net as I recall, I think for less than $1500. Coincidentally, my buddy has just sold the one in the video, which is pristine, for around $1300, minus cart. Have to take the cartridge out of the equation as it muddies the waters of deck pricing of course. Even at $1500 it crushes anything new though.
Liquid Audio yeah most sub 3k decks are heavily compromised in some way shape or form. I had a project 2 xperience SB which retailed for 1500rrp. Motor noise could be picked up by the cartridge. Simply inexcusable.
may I know why would you take kenwood 650 over sansui 929? thanks :)
Great video, any way you could make a small list for old Turntable to buy that you recommend? Hearing horror stories about the new ones.
Hi and thanks for the great feedback! I would love to make such a list and maybe I will, when I get a chance. I'm just so busy with repairs and servicing that it keeps me from creating useful content like that which you've suggested!
ok ty:)
Could I get some help for my engineer for a recap?
Certainly, technical assistance and time may be purchased via my website, 30 min consult blocks are also available.

Hi, I'm located in Perth, Western Australia, details here: liquidaudio.com.au/about/
Can I ask where you got the headshell for this . I am having the same issue with the set-up.
Hi, I'm not sure what setup issue you are referring to - can you clarify? This deck has her original Sansui headshell.
@@LiquidAudio I have this same deck. What I meant was the headshell length to get the correct overhang. Was that the correct headshell? I have never seen what they look like all original.
@@che1925 Hi, yes as per my reply this is the original Sansui headshell. Complex decks these, they need very careful electronic and mechanical setup. Working inside them is tedious!
@@LiquidAudio I want to sell mine. It had a broken tone arm that was replaced with a jelco 750 D tonearm. Sounds nice but the headshell that I have is not original. The other Sansui one I purchased is too narrow to fit a AT 150E stylus and cartridge.
I see, just get a Jelco HS-25 headshell and you are done, thats what should come with the arm. Lovely headshell, far better than the original Sansui.
