I have one of these. I paid about 50 USD. up here in Canada. I like it. I've worn boots all year round for the last 30 years. Your points are right on. I personally don't wear this, although it's a nice blade overall. More style than substance.
I generally think its pretty bad when a knife like this has basically no finger guard. I suppose if it s meant for self defense it should have one and have a really robust tip as you really want to have great thrusting capabilities. I think this model finds its place but not on a belt but on a collector shelf. Personally if you havent shown them on a Channel i can recommend reviewing cold steel safe maker 1 and 2. These 2 are the ones i can recomment to anyone as the best self defense knives I ve ever encountered. I ve had about 15 diffrent push dagger models and these 2 shines the most.
I would carry the Shrill. Boot knives and daggers are bad ass and just have an amazing look that says they mean business. I'm not sure I would modify it though. I would rather adapt to the weapon. Anything else would feel like a handicap. 2 Thumbs Up 👍👍
Good looking knife but I'll stick with my cold steel Kyoto with c clips its very comfortable and easily concealed and ive got it like a razor blade sharp it is small but that's one reason I like it!! good video bro 👍⚔🗡⚔
It’s a awesome knife used to have it you can carry it in your pants inside or out put it on your boot or just let it sit in a pocket if you have big pants everyone thinks it looks beautiful and wants to check it out. If you have it on you and is amazing for self-defense that the purpose it was made for an assassin’s dagger so you Gotta make sure it fits your hand right? And you know what you’re doing with the knife it’s not a beginners tool
Your right looks like a one and done. I carried my dag a much of ways but my favorite .was inside my waist band .price wise he and done ill go to Smith and Wesson h r t but great review good looking knife
@@411Outdoors thank you bro I appreciate.👍 I also think better to have something carried easy and you can go pretty much everywhere in city especially.
My issue is that it doesn't have a guard. It can easily slip and cut up your fingers during a stabbing motion with resistance (as you said hitting bone) How does it feel? The no guard thing is why I am very hesitant to get it
@@411Outdoors it's a damn shame because it looks really nice. But it's another knife that favors form over function. The other crkt knife similar but shorter 3.25" is the Sting. It has a very, very small "guard like" feature, but it isn't enough to call it a real guard. I truly don't understand the purpose of these piercing weapons that don't have guards. These knives aren't for anything else but self defense. 90% of knife deaths are piercing attacks. I'm just wondering what was the point of making it without a guard for the shrill. Or why it was a half assed guard for the sting. Was it to keep it compact and slim? Aesthetically appealing? Cold steel has a drop forged boot knife (I really liked this one) and counter tac. Kershaw has the secret agent that also has a very small (similar to the sting) guard. I stay FAR away from anything Smith and wesson makes. I got the SW boot knife in 7cr13mov and returned all 3 because they all had defects. Boker has one for 300$ lol Cold steel has the SRK and drop forged series which I'm really leaning towards. Even though SRK isn't a boot knife. I don't wear boots. I planned on clipping it to my belt or waist or ankle. A lot of other knife companies are known for folders rather than fixed blades. Got any recommendations for good fixed blade brands?
Its nice enough. The carry options are a bit limited as you pointed out, which causes it to lose points. Id prefer it had an integrated cross guard though. That way you'd have a bit more protection from your hand sliding up on the blade. I do prefer concealed carry though b/c i dont want to upset the sheeple every time I use my knife in front of them. I mean yeah one could go to jail in some places but you can go to jail just for defending yourself at all these days.
Yep a lot of the blades that I’m going to be looking at in the future come from a connection that I’ve made with a subscriber. This is one he sent me and we put our brains together on the ups and downs of it. Wouldn’t be one I would buy based on its design because I don’t do boot carry myself.
That Blade is Definitely Not User Friendly... and for that Price, I can get something that is Better Designed. If I Can't have Confidence in my Blade.... then the Battle is Already Lost.
Great summary and thank you for pointing out some practical disadvantages I had not considered.

Nice assessment, my friend!
Looks like something of a skean dhu. Perfect for wearing with a kilt.
Great video, thank you for your hard work!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Love my Kyoto too! Carries so well and so solid!

Love the HRT ! All the dag one would need.
the design inspiration behind this weapon seems to be the Kunai instead of a traditional western dagger
👍
Can you make a review and test for the small knife (Gerber ) you was carried. Best regards
Which Gerber knife was it? Was it the Ghoststrike?
@@411Outdoors I don’t know , you show it while was reviewing the cold steel cobun tanto knife .
@@KhanKubratDulo ok yep that’s the one. I did actually review that blade. Let me see if I can find the link.

I’m right there with you. It would almost make a better spear tip. Definitely not for me as a knife

I'm pretty sure the lanyard hole for making it capable of trying it to your wrist so it isn't dropped in a fight?
Could definitely be used that way 👍

So true!
Good find, but that lanyard hole and lack of hilt wreck it for me. I'll stick to my cold steel mini leatherneck dagger, Thanks.

You should do a review on a Khyber Bowie.
That is definitely an interesting looking blade!
It looks great tho.. may get me one just cause 😂
