Thanks for this reminder that not everything I draw has to be perfect, that it should be relaxing. A lot of us who have so little time for drawing but a huge desire put a lot of pressure on ourselves to produce an appealing end product. But think about it-when you drew as a child or a ninth grader, it was relaxing and fun. That’s what we all need.
I worked in the garden all day. No smoke! We had a clear day but I was bushed. It was lovely sitting down to doing the chill, relaxing drawing. The reason I love drawing. iS THAT It takes ME to another plane. Thank you Shayda that you keep keeping on. YOU MADE ME FORGET MY ACHES AND PAINS.
I was too stressed about my coming exam, so i had to calm myself. And I'm glad i watched this video 'cause it's really relaxing and fun. Though i'm not the one who made the artwork, i found myself unwinding 🧡 Thanks, Shayda!!! 😊

This video has come just as the right time for me with 3 boys and a newborn little girl I sometime fine it hard to just relax. I need little projects like this that are fun and and help me to unwind after being on my toes all day with work and kids xx
@@christinamoxon awww thank you.. she is an angel compared to the boys to be fair she sleeps haha, the boys never. There 8,7 and 2 now haha.. so when the oldest two are in school, I only have the baby and the 2 year old. So when the baby is asleep me and the 2 year old will have a draw or paint what ever takes are fancy that day. I will also try and do abit before bed to try and help me unwind otherwise I cant sleep thinking of all the things I have to do the next day haha..xx

something that helps me relax or helps me with art block is just trying to fill up a page. i pick about 5 colors and i use different supplies, and just do little drawings or doodles to fill us any blank space.
These were fun. And I'm glad to have more inspiration to use the Faber Castell markers-I had never used them, nor even thought of using them, until I watched your mountain doodles video and you used one in the background of a doodle. Now I'm hooked.

The Koi pen is a really nice pen to do leaves. They don't have them in the shops near me but maybe I can get them online , although I don't like the expensive delivery charge. But, they are quality pens that seem to have great natural results. I have had a go with some brush makers but I think they are too thin, I like the mix of thick and thin, not thin and thin lol I have had a go wit the cactus, which was fun and it worked out really well on the paper on my bullet journal, even on my blank postcards. i like the large simple forms and colour palette, and desert feel to it. Things that I have learned since lockdown in March and since I have started to watch Shayda's videos - 1) I like grey and browns (and I WAS normally a bright colour person), natural colours are amazing and calming 2) Liking botanticals watercolour... I always thought they were too fussy and detailed for me, and I didn't like that look but Shayda does simple botanicals that are fresh and cute, which interesting colours other than the normal ie not just green leave but grey leave 3) Small paintings of one subject are OK, pne doesn't have to have loads of complicated subjects in one picture which is daunting 4) learning that it is ok to trace and learning about graphic transfer paper, this is also a way to simply buildings too 5) it is ok not to be perfect 6) that video photography can make the art of watercolour painting relaxing to watch too and feel. I think this is why I like watercolour 6) learning about different greens to get some interesting, unique mixes which makes my paintings look interesting and modern 6) painting leaves can be fun, and not be a chore. 7) Flowers don't all have to look like one way daisies, but they can be shaped different ways for a more fun and realistic and less childish look but doable 8) Having an art / bullet journal to practice on and seeing my progress 9) we are still learning all the time, it is ok not to get it right all the time
