Thanks for watching!
Hyundai NEEDS a sonata N. After they discontinued the Kona N and Veloster N they lack performance ice cars, and this lacks polish. It needs more features. It needs a reason to buy. Give it AWD, more horsepower, a V6 a better exhaust, and an LSD, and you got yourself the BEST Sonata. Please Hyundai! Give us the Sonata N!
Oh my god this was almost exactly what I envisioned for the Sonata N as well!
Slap in the 3.3 liter Twin Turbo V6 from the Stinger, keep the DCT, give it as many features as the Limited, and give it AWD. The only two I was missing were the exhaust and LSD.
Great minds think alike I guess!
@@Expt629-BrInStAr especially now that they killed the stinger. A sonata N would be a master in it's lonely class
idk with more and more mid size sedans getting killed off every year, we're lucky that the Sonata exists at all. You're more likely to see a Palisade N or Tuscon N than a Sonata N.
@@RatAvenue I would rather see a Sonata N with a V6 than a TuscoN
Yes just completely change the whole car 😂😂 like think dude @Expt629
If this car had better tires and/or a LSD, this might be one of the best mid size bang for buck sedans out there. It’s still fantastic as it is. For me I actually like this design over the 🐈🐟. Thanks for taking us on the drive!
The catfish? What are you referring to?
Let's not forget, they're trying to keep the sonata at a cost price that everyone can afford. Not everybody can afford a stinger. And by the way they're discontinued. An LSD would be great, all-wheel drive and rear air vents... That's all you need...
This car is just fine. We can always purchase better tires down the road.
@@sockmonkey3D 100% agree with both points. That’s why I said tires and/or LSD. Tire technology is so great right now, just the right set of tires would probably do the trick. And I’m sure Hyundai won’t offer a LSD because it will eat into the N Car sales. Which is why Honda doesn’t offer hatchback in the Si.
I think the facelift completely transformed and modernized the look. It's amazing this is considered a 'mid-cycle refresh' because with all of the exterior and interior changes, this could pass for 'all-new'. I really like this new look...strong, meaty, aggressive lines and the light bar is awesome. The interior improvements are outstanding. The super wide screen is slick. Such a handsome vehicle inside and out. It's too bad SUVs are so popular as we need more sedans on the road..boring if everyone drives a SUV
The back NEEDS rear seat vents... What was Hyundai thinking... Considering the heatwave hitting everywhere
Canadian spec gets em 👍🏼
Got them in Australia
2025 US N-Line will get it according to Hyundai press release of 2025 model year changes.
Accord only offers rear vents on the touring model. Many midsize don't offer rear air vents on all trims for some reason
@@ayushmalpeddi2793 The Sonata only doesn't offer it in the lowest and N line trim. It offers rear vents in every other trim
This thing needs a Limited Slip Diff! I was just at the dealer test driving one this morning. An lsd would make this an excellent value.
i have this car. they didn't change the tuning of the throttle. they made the vehicle more rigid. you can see the new strut tower rings mounted...also, 2025 N-Line will bring back air vents according to Hyundai Pressroom site. as for wheelspin, haven't had wheelspin w/ new Michelin tires.
I'm like 95% sure you can just retrofit the rear seat vents aftermarket for a few hundred bucks yourself. Huge omission on Hyundais part but not a huge deal. Cats like the Accord only get rear air vents on the top touring trim.
Should have had them from the beginning tbh.
When you use the turn signal does it have a camera? I’m trying to decide between this or the 2025 Kia K5😩🥺
@@jazminrellis The Nline model does not. Only the Sonata Limited Hybrid comes with that
@@jazminrellisthe Kia k5 GT with GT1 package has those options, but sonata you would have to get limited.
I love my '23 N-Line. Have mine tuned with some bolt-ons, and it's a pretty fun car. As everyone always says, and LSD would be great. Better yet AWD. It's a burnout machine otherwise. But I think it's a great option. It's practical, relatively efficient, comfortable, and it's got a 10yr/100k mile powertrain warranty. I'm really happy with mine. I think I'm part of the minority, but after checking out a '24 in person, I still prefer my catfish.
If you're tuned then good luck getting your warrenty honored.
I just got this car 2 days ago. Im 23 years old & I love it !! Everytime I get a new car I binge watch videos about the car
How many new cars could you possibly have at 23? Stop 🧢
He doesn’t make good financial decisions 😂
@@porfiriato84 every time i get a new girl, i get a new car. New car, new me.
Glad the A and C pillars aren’t blacked out. Gives the car a clean look
In this color, the front has that RoboCop look.
Let's go back even further in the '70s. It has the Battlestar Galactica Cylon warrior look.
Great vid man. I'm extremely happy the market is starting to get like it was in the 80's and 90's. There are so many more performance cars you can get nowadays compared to 10 years ago, it's awesome seeing the variety. I agree on the looks, it's definitely striking but I feel like the car is not timeless, and in a few years idk how people will feel with the way it looks. Also the exterior imo is having an identity crisis, the front is nice and sleek, I wouldn't say elegant but maybe futuristic. Then you get to the side view and the wheels look very boy racer, along with the trim on the quarters and the decklid. Maybe its not for me but I'd rather have one style and not the other. Either full boy racer or aggressive and elegant. All in all I think its a good package for $35k in this current market.
I’m not sure what the hell happened, but I believe Korean car companies might be having a negative influence on the German ones.
Any new AMGs down the pipeline?
What about versus Kia K5 GT?
they share the exact same engine with the exact same curb weight lol
Kia K5 has all the features of this car aside from ambient lighting plus more like rear vents and power folding mirrors. More expensive though.
I think if they came out with a true Sonota N for a bit more money (maybe throw in those vents or AWD option too) this would be the perfect sedan; a great mix of Luxury and Affordability
So then what's the point of the Elantra N? You really think they would make 2 of the same car?
Are you going to drive the new facelifted Elantra n? That would be good to see as well!
There's plenty of videos of that. Not sure what Topher would add that hasn't been said already
It seems like a solid good looking but sporty sedan. Good for people who'd rather have a comfortable daily, but I went with the Elantra N in 2022. I can deal with the stiffness and have a rowdy daily
In Sport+ (My mode) the transmission shifts a bit faster and more aggressively. Definitely give it a shot next time!
Currently leasing a ‘23 Sonata NLine & so pleased with it that I’m looking forward to leasing a ‘25 next year in lieu of the G80 Sport I highly considered. Coming from Infiniti and Lexus, although it’s missing a few luxurious amenities to which I’m accustomed, I’m pleased with the overall package for the money - definitely a solid vehicle ………… and a true sleeper, too.
See the typical replies of “needs an LSD, yadda yadda” … even without that it does quite well, even from a dig for those of us who know how to seamlessly rein it in.
Hi topher! I love your videos they are the only thing I watch that makes me happy. I just wanted to say thank you for making amazing content keep up the work!
I like the exterior more in this one but the interior more on the last gen.
This or a un used Arteon SEL R line premium are going to be my next vehicle in 2 years.
Hey as an owner of a 2021 sonata n line I can say after a bit of practice you have 0 wheel spin unless you want it btw. Off the rip yes you wont know how but there’s not that much truly
When you listed the power specs I audibly said “JESus”
Is this car worth the tag?
While a Sonata N, I think Hyundai realizes that the numbers show they need to pour a higher % of resources into SUVs. As nice as a Sonata N would be, realistically, it would sell in the numbers needed to justify the cost... I think we should be happy the Sonata N-Line exists and is probably suitable for >80% of the people looking for a sporty mid-sized sedan..
After owning a VN KN and 2 Elantra Ns
I can say the one thing i want is better like N line seats and less bumpy ride from the Ns
There is no reason they ride like that for other than "feel" like sports car. And the seats look cool but again as a daily no need for them either. EU got the option idk why us didnt.
I need the sonta N line -N middle mark lol
I hate the fact that we don't get this in Europe, that looks like a really nice car
I don't know if it's just me, but it seems to have a lot of grey, non-descript plastic everywhere, especially in the rear where there should be climate vents. The fit and finish just screams cost cutting. Not feeling it.
W for the brake test/bunny avoidance 😆
The instrument cluster tablet has this weird 3 inch gray zone on the far left - anyone know why? It ruins the aesthetic in my opinion.
You can put magnetic accessories on it like magnetic clips
The Elantra N and a the sonata n line are 7 inches length difference if that matters. I wouldn’t say they are in the same class
They need a v8 rwd sonata n line
Great videos topper! I love the Sonata N Line. I have an Elantra limited hybrid but I keep going back to the Sonata N Line on the videos. I think I'm about to trade for one.
I'd like to know how that handles in snow and ice. That's a lot of HP and torque to put to the front wheels, and with the AT, without some major TC intervention it might be troublesome. Really wish they'd offer it with AWD.
It looks SHARP. Just how I like a cars design.
That black truck was def going like 95
what crazy i get 26 Mpg for my volvo which is think is better then estimated. my old mazda could never
Spectacular car that we don't get in Europe...
Can you do a review on the Elantra n line plz
That steering wheel is disgusting
Should make a true Sonata N with a manual transmission
I really hate that the RPM gauge is on the right side 😭
Yeah, for me the aesthetics are pretty busy. Like you said, seems like it lacks an identity.
I think the business is the identity. Hyundai is about being bold, different. This design is not for everybody. I think it's awesome.
Your car likely lacks aesthetics and identity too , why not list yours here?
Put in sport plus will be faster and shift faster
too bad us doesnt come wit rear vent canadian version does
The hell is that shifter? 💀
more engine and fire recalls this week, oh and airbags going off for no reason
I miss my 23 sonata n-line so much but the resale value on these are so bad😩
Sharp exterior, but needs rear seat vents and the screen set up is hideous. Looks like they just stuck some elongated ipad on top of the dash.
I love you Topher ❤
Woah, no diddy! He is a married man with kids.
@@Y_hasslol
The front is good looking but they have rear ended the rear.
I ALMOST traded in my 2018 accord 2.0t but I ended up not signing the contract..The car has everything but the driving isnt inspiring at all,my accord drives so much better that you cant even compare.
Yay or nay for the single line LED around the front? I think I'm a nay, but its still a sweet ride
I can't imagine spending 37k on a Sonata! Too busy inside and out as well.
What other car can you get at 37k that has 290HP?
im 24 and i would love to have this car but i ahve no money haha
Why don't you have money?
I had the previous model but the lack of lsd really was deal breaker for me. I ended up getting the G70 3.3t AWD to replace it.
Two totally different cars WTF
i love the new hyndai interior tbh. i just don't like hyundai
RoboCop
I’d buy this in a heartbeat if the exterior wasn’t so ugly. I also don’t like how the middle screen is so blocky with sharp edges. If the accord sport L had this power but with Bose speakers, would be an instant buy
Yeah Kia and Hyundai are making crazy designs. Many people like them but I'm with you, I do not like how this looks
Hmmm!
Not bad. 😊
Car looks extremely tacky... you spend a more thousand you could get something much nicer new and something pre owned with a lot more performance and luxury
I'll still take the 2025 camry xse over this
Boooorriiiiingggggg
First
9:07 was that a legal left turn??
nasty roads
Funny. The current governor ran on "fixing the damn roads". They never got fixed, and if they did, the politicians would have nothing to run on.
Dashboard horrible
Its an N line so its mid they shouldve just went all out and done an actual N.
No bro they want you to buy the Elantra N. This is where you get your true horsepower and performance.
yikes, ugly design inside and out
Is 90+ mph on the highway in Michigan normal? lol
Yup
