  • In this video I show how accurate the Browning X-Bolt Hells Canyon is. I also test how accurate my new CDS turret is I just received back from Leupold.

    I'm not a 6.5 fan, but great video and thank you for sharing this with with us!
    I especially like how you showed us your setup. It takes a lot of equipment for testing, not just walk up with your rifle and a pocket full of shells.

    Sweet im shooting the same set up. Mines a 30 06 and love it. Just saw your videos going try get mine zeroed here soon. Thanks for the video. Awesome seeing a lefty like me shooting a right handed i just gotten a lot better and used to the action on the right.

    I just picked up an Xbolt Hell's Canyon Max in 6.5 cm with a Leupold VX-3HD 6.5-20x50 optic ..... can't wait to put some down range

      2842, 2830, 2849, 2824, I had a few more, but my average was 2841 FPS.
      With a 100 yard zero it is 51 clicks to 775 yards

    Would like to see 5 shot groups? Nice rifle? A gunsmith once told me browning adds glue to barrel threads and he couldn’t remove a barrel for a change? I wonder if that’s true?

      I really like the rifle, very light. I’m not aware if they use glue or not, it’s prolly more of a lock-tight material

    Fixing to order a new xbolt speed 280 ackley improved. And either a Leupold vx 3 hd 4.5x14x40 CDS. Or a vx5 hd 3x15x44 CDS.

    I have. Several a and x bolts but my long range 6.5 needmoor shoots god awfully. Several factorys and even reloads struggle to shot 3 inches at a 100. Guess there a lemon now matter you builds them.

    I’ve seen a xbolt 6.5 prc consistently time and time again shoot one holes at 100 and .5@200. I’ve been for some time now contemplating sale off some stuff just to join the club!!

    Just picked up the same rifle the other day what brand and grain did you use? Only box I could find was hornady 143 grain.

      Hornady Precision Hunter 143 gr eldx. They seem to be money in any gun I run them through!

      Great hunting bullets "for long range impacts" but grenades in that PRC until 200 yards I'm guessing.

    I just sold my xbolt 7mm . I was after trying everything best I could do was 4.5in at 100y. I figured it was a bad barrel. Never again

    Can you reach out farther then 900yds with those turrets? I was watching another video trying to to see if I wanna switch to a Leupold CDS Turret but his turret stopped at 700or 800 yds.

      It depends upon a couple things, your zero yardage, the cartridge you are using and the scope. The set up in this video goes out to 1400 yards

      Without the brake it’s similar, with the brake it’s quite a bit less

    Shouldn't that Chrono be like 10 feet in front of the muzzle, not 2?

      Just so long as you don’t get muzzle blast interference and have consistent reading you can put it as close or as far away as you want, you can put it out at 70 feet if you wanted, but will get lower reading. Since the CDS wants a muzzle velocity, I try to get as close, but yet still accurate reading I can

    As accurate as that gun is I'm kinda disappointed a didn't shoot mine before fitting the proof carbon barrel and timney trigger. Mine is 7mm rem mag medallion left handed. Curious why didn't you order yours left handed?

      The main reason is that if I ever wanted to sell it they are pretty hard to resell. Second reason, I mostly shoot off bipods and I can throw the bolt without taking my left hand off the grip and can shoot faster

    Hi how do you mount a bipod to that rifle? I'm new to shooting and just bought a western hunter 6.5 prc from browning

      You can just mount a bipod to the sling swivel on the front of the stock

      Very sturdy, you shouldnt have an issue, I would use a Harris, best bang for your buck

    Thanks for the video. I have just ordered a HCS in 6.5CM with a Leupold scope! Hope mine shoots like that out of the box! Enjoyed the vid, but would have preferred it if the religious stuff was kept out at the end. Only downer for me 👍👍

      I sold one to a buddy last year, same set up your talking about, thing is a tack driver!
      I’m sorry you feel that way, it is a very important part of my life. Agree with it or not, there is a lot of principles in the Bible, if applied, that will make us better people.
