Wow, "screw-nails," "shim-shingles" and a "power miter box." Love seeing these old episodes, a few cringe moments based on current building science, but of course I love that Bob is actually doing a bit of the work himself rather than just pointing to Norm doing it all. What was cutting-edge in 1982 looks like a showcase of regrettable decisions to later eyes, but constant remodeling has been good for the trades. On Google this house is still there and has been remodeled extensively since, sunroom is now just regular roof and the main house sprouted a second story, different windows throughout, etc.

The reason why Bob helped out so much was that they were on an incredibly tight budget due to overspending at the Newton House in season 2.
28:36 How many remember this station identification chime from their childhood? Especially before a Sesame Street episode.
I was born in 1979. That bumper is one of my earliest memories.
That door hanging segment would have had Beavis and Butthead giggling nonstop.

I doubt Bob did any of that kitchen cabinetry work himself. Norm worked 25 hour days in the early 80s.
Anyone remember what street this was on.
