    This video is sponsored by my Patreon patrons - THANK YOU!
    I originally posted this on Patreon July 2018, but had to re-edit and post it again on Patreon a few months back due to 20 seconds of copyrighted soundtrack which caused it to be blocked in the USA.
    I'm going to be posting on TH-cam selected previously locked Patreon videos that are approximately 1.5 (one and a half) years old. This is one of them and TH-cam has already demonetised it with the standard claim that's it's not suitable for most advertisers....which always leaves me wondering why there's a ton of adverts when movies with the most disturbing content are aired on TV and cable? Those advertisers don't seem to have any qualms about placing their products with such content.
    My dear friends, I've started a fundraiser on my Facebook page for St Jude Children's Research Hospital. For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I've chosen this non profit because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope you'll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal. I've included information about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital below. I've already donated $200 Not one cent of this goes to me, the money doesn't even come into my hands, it goes straight to St Jude Children's Research Hospital. Myself and loyal Oddites have already raised over $600. - $1000 is the goal, even a $5 donation helps out. For the price of a couple of coffees you will be helping to save a child's life. Thanks for your consideration. If any of you can spare a small amount to help ease the distress of families with children suffering cancer. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and we won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries we make, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. #StJude
    Kind regards, Oddie

      HAPPY BIRTHDAY ODDIE!!!
      What a wonderful thing to do.🤗 The children and their family's deserve any & all help they can get.
      I need to take that guy to court very soon, if win, I could help out that way way if I'm awarded some money, also can try next month to sell some rings. If that is a no go, I'll try to save some $ over acupple of months and just make it a goal. What we put our minds to doing we can do !
      I've given to them in the past BECAUSE it goes to saving children & their family's. Danny Thomas was one careing, loving, outstanding person and his daughter still carries on with it.
      And you and Oddette are very careing, loving folks.
      I can't give right now but I CAN make it a goal to give in the near future.

      December babies unite! 😊😊 I went to donate but I only saw a FB page summarizing the amount raised so far, but not a link to give. I am not on FB so logging onto FB is not an option. I will try again and maybe find a way to circumvent a FB login but if you have e a more direct link, please post it and like my YT comment so I will know that you've replied. Thank you for posting such wonderful content and more so for helping St. Jude's - it is also one of my favorite causes. Worst case, I'll donate and do it in your name.

      @@MSYNGWIE12 Hi anonymous anonymous, Christmas greetings to you thanks ! Marilyn Monroe was a beautiful person , this photo was taken in New York at a time Marilyn decided to say no to the movies the studios in Hollywood expected her to play in. Many people do struggle with depression. If this applies to you - sorry if I got your message wrong - , try and be kind to yourself every day. Many serial killers were not raised in a loving environment. Some have high IQs, others don't but one cannot deny they have a strategic intelligence. I was 5 yrs old in 19 53 . I will be 72 this year 2020 . My dad was a young police constable ,and was one of the police men in the Bobby hats , as they were digging up the back garden . He described in detail ,when I was in my early 20s ,the horrendous smell, and the bodies in the cupboard in the kitchen . It made me feel quite sick .My dad climbed up through the ranks , and was the major Detective who investigated , and solved the kidnapping and murder of Mrs Muriel Mac/Kay , wife of a wealthy newspaper mogul .The kidnappers were the Hossain brothers ,Arther,and Nisamidin . Jonny Miners , was my dads partner. With intricate detective work , everything lead him to a pig farm called Rooks farm, just outside London . No body was found but lots of evidence , showed that Muriel had been their . It was the first kidnapping for ransom since Oliver Cromwell . It happened around 19 70 . I have looked to see if that story had ever been told . I am sure to be a murder high ranking officer, one has to have a very thick skin, as often my dad would come home and eat a big dinner , after being at a murder investigation . I had to small children back then , and it
    Often made me upset . These days I look back and wonder if their have been any documentary’s, made about that murder .

    • @H4FF
      @H4FF 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@biancaswart2405 Nope, but it is a very consistent theme with people who end up committing serious crimes. To say it is just nature is naive, I think. There is a monster in all of us, and sure, it may be easier to wake in some - but it is there nonetheless, and a terrible childhood is an experience that can bring that monster out in many.

    • @frankboff1260

      Eelke van der Brug There’s no evidence he was actually abused though. Abusers always make that claim to elicit sympathy.

    • @H4FF
      @H4FF 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@frankboff1260 Maybe. For many it is also confirmed by others. We like to portray these people as monsters, born as such. A lot of that comes from us not wanting to consider that we may end up the same if we lived a life such as theirs; it is very uncomfortable to look in that mirror. I'm sure some use it to elicit sympathy, but there are way too many cases where it is proven to put it aside as just an excuse.

    • @H4FF
      @H4FF 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Valarie Parker You sound rather sure of yourself making claims you cannot prove. Just because you haven't seen your own dark side doesn't mean it can't be there. Have you ever wondered why the Nazi's in WW2 were as succesful at exterminating the Jewish people? There were way too many people who turned into a "monster" for that to just be a predetermined thing in their DNA or whatever. Really, your response just proves my point - you find it too uncomfortable to consider you may also be just as flawed as anyone else, and that you too could have ended up what you might consider a "monster". Messed up situations creat messed up people. Some can deal with that, many cannot - some of those end ip destroying their own loves, others destroy the lives of other. Life is always a play of grey shades, not black and white, as uncomfortable and complicated that may be.

    • @H4FF
      @H4FF 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Valarie Parker As for free will: even that can be debated, rarher convincingly so. Even that assumption is not as obviously true as you seem to think. I'll not even bother to address the more personal things you just said about me; I'll just say that you don't know me, and your judgement based on 2 comments is rather... Rash?

      But I see TH-cam has messed with another one of my favorite channels. Extreme horror & slasher films, or movies that even show full child nudity and sex, like Blue Lagoon and Pretty Baby (both Brooke Shield movies - very good movies, but they even shocked me; especially "Pretty Baby") have no problem showing plenty of advertisements, yet a documentary channel that specializes in older horrific/strange stories can't? Or my other channels that just narrate scary bedtime/around the campfire stories?? Someone needs to make a new, less bias TH-cam channel.

    Thank you so very much for another wonderfully narration of this notorious crime story. I'm familiar with the atrocity of this Evil monster. Another example of a child abuse, the damage it causes is a ripple effect. Christie took this childhood trauma to a most despicable tragic end. Your voice is lovely Oddity. Happy Holidays and to a prosperous New Year. Be kind to all. With love and Peace.

    I have always been totally fascinated with the Christie case.
    I too have the strongest memories of the Madam Tussauds Chamber of horrors exhibition. For a long time after the experience had to sleep under my duvet but facing the wall I could not turn my back on the wall. That would have been in the early 90s I am not sure if it is still there today.
    Thank you Oddie for the amazing work, entertainment and knowledge you bring us. I could listen to you talk about anything for hours. It kills me not to be able to put a face to the person.

    What a ghastly fiend Christie was. I had heard about him, and another killer named Crippen. I've always gotten these two murderers mixed up. You make these stories, with the illustrations and animations so very interesting, Oddie. Thank you for posting this one. :)

    • @MsDoctorWhoFan1
      @MsDoctorWhoFan1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Laurie P im undecided wheather Crippen did it. Theres been a lot of debated, that the torso was male. But how do you get that wrong? My theory is that Crippen had a low iQ like Tim Evans and was possibly hung a innocent man. Cora could have killed a man, to frame her husband, in order to live a new life. Sounds a bit extreme but divorce back then was frowned upon and your name would have been tainted. She was an actress and would have been hard to find work.

    This was a fantastic and chilling story. I being a full in believer in Ghosts and the Paranormal, such horrific things as this can't be erased by the demolishing of a building or block for that matter. Something always remains. Such as the case with what happened with the Haunting In Connecticut and what was done to the people's remains post mortem with the mortician that lived in the house and caused all of the negative and malevolent spirits to remain. With what was done to all of these women with the way they died and then the way their body's being subjected to even further horror and indignity, it's no wonder the area may still be cursed or have angry and malevolent entities still there. And if a man that's lived there 40 some odd years says it's cursed, I would say there has to be some truth to it.
