I'm 50 years old black male and grew up in Philly. I remember in my teens never being hired for simple jobs like fast food or even dirty jobs like janitor. My black female friends and family members were hired though. We watched them bring home paychecks, get fired from one place and quickly hired at another. Most teen Black males in Philly didn't even get once chance.
I can tell you in my time, the majority of young black uneducated Males/teens in Philly have never been given solid economic opportunities. This is from teenage years forward. Yeah most of us are unrefined as teens, but you got to start somewhere.
