      The drums in the remixes are so much clearer, whereas before they were muddy and tended to get lost behind the other instruments. I have a new appreciation for how perfect his fills were. He's not flashy or blowing you away with his virtuosity, but he's always adding just the perfect amount.

    There is something I don't quite understand. As Giles Martin said, Texman's drums, rhythm guitar, and bass were all recorded on one track, so how can their sounds be clearly separated?

    It sounds like George does the count off on this recording Giles is playing. But who actually counts it off on the album? I've googled this in the past and there seems to be no "consensus". I always thought it was John, because that weird slow deep count matches his sense of humor.

    • @scottandrewbrass

      Two count ins. First is Paul apparently doing the comedy voice ( I always believed it to be John too)and George in the background doing the real one.Though to me it sounds like Ringo. Drummers usually do count ins.Most frustrating .

      @@scottandrewbrass I searched here on TH-cam, and found this video from a few weeks ago that agrees it was Paul doing the "main" count, and supplies good evidence to support that. Sometimes I forget that Paul has a "comedic" side to him. th-cam.com/video/QuNm58x9eMc/w-d-xo.html

    if he said all the instruments - guitar bass drums, were recorded on one track, then how did he separate the instruments?

    • @disneyscott98
      @disneyscott98 ปีที่แล้ว

      AI, and machine learning technology. It essentially "learns" what each instrument sounds like, and is able to (pretty clearly) remove them. That way, each of the instruments can be separately placed in the mix rather than all 3 being stuck together.

      Same with guitar at 1:33, clarity drops for a second. Don't seem to notice it when it's all played back together though.

    I didn't like the new remix of Tomorrow Never Knows, the seagulls like sound and other sound effects that I love appear to be lower, more buried in the new mix. I still prefer the original, those sound effects sound louder and in your face.

    This is the one track I was a bit disappointed about. THE COWBELL!! You guys should have used the cowbell as is it heard in the MONO mix of Taxman. The stereo mix got it wrong in 1966 and it still sounds wrong to me in the new remix.
