Thanks for the great content, Ben. Pirelli has become my tire of choice for road and gravel, so I can’t wait to try these TLR Race versions when I size up my 28s to 32s or even 35s!
i have a set of gp5000s and a set of pirelli p zero r tlrs mounted. i cannot tell the differance in rolling resistance but i do feel the p zeros give me more confidence cornering. and i can see that the pirellis are wearing the casting flash of faster than the conti tires...
I really like Pirelli tires. I used their gravel tires and liked them a lot. Then they became hard to find and when there was finally inventory the price went way up. I switched to Panaracer gravel kings.
For me, it's something that is comfortable and feels locked in. If it pinches anywhere - heel, ankle, top of foot - no bueño. But if your foot slips around, well, for one, you're probably in too big of a size, but that's not good. What kind of fit do you like?
@@TheRidewithBenDelaney thanks for the info. Because of where I live, it's hard to try on several models back to back. And often as soon as you mount cleats to them, they can't be returned, so I'm not sure what consists of the perfect fit until I'm outside of the return policy, ha.
I have done 200km on the PZero Race TLR SL (26mm) mounted tubeless on Mavic Cosmic Carbon SL UST (40) wheels and they feel fast, but hard and possibly not that grippy in spring temps, may be better in summer with higher air+tarmac temps, how different are the new ones?
They're definitely much softer in hand. That's a noticeable difference. And I'd like to think that I could feel that the new ones feel softer, but that is trickier. I hear you that the old/current ones feel hard. I had just switched a Schwalbe that felt great but kept leaking air to a P Zero, and the weight and the tread thickness between the two was quite noticeable.
you know its intresting when pirelli claims the greater majority of the pros still use tubulars, wich is the reason they have spent the last 2 years refining their new to release next month of the new pirelli pzero race tub SL.....here in the states
Thanks! I realise its an almost impossible question. How do you compare the Extreme Pro 3 to shoes like S-Phyre, KR0, etc. (whatever you have tried)? Are they worth compared to other brands?
If Pirelli was able to improve puncture resistance and decrease RR that is huge. I like my GP5000, but the puncture resistance leaves a lot to be desired and their "gatorskin" version is dangerous in the wet weather (when punctures are the worst). I really hope Pirelli has mastered best of both worlds. As for shoes, I'm shopping for gravel shoes and in pains me how expensive they all are.
@@dirkstaudt4341 sorry, but no they haven’t. If you hadn’t notice, every media there is (like GCN, Road CC, Bike Radar etc.) has taken down their videos on Conti GP5000 AS TR and GP5000 TT TR. You can’t find a thing about either one of those two anymore.
@@dirkstaudt4341 that’s awesome! I would be devastated if they cancelled them. I am looking forward in getting the AS TR in 35c. It’s so hard to get a good 35c slick tyres and I was over the moon when I got word Conti is releasing the AS TR and TT TR. A few days later, everyone took down their videos. You actually won’t find a single thing on TH-cam about them. Odd!
this is one of the rare occasions i would actually trust a 24% increase given the old p zero race had a pretty mediocre RR coefficient. 24% would make it a top tire while still being believable. waiting for BCRR tests

Bang on as usual
Thanks for yet again putting out quality content.
Thanks for following along.
Great video, thanks! Grazie, danke schön!
Totally jealous! Stop having soo much FUN, lol.
😁👋🚵♂️🍷
And Pirelli makes better calendars than Continental.
@Ilan Vardi = Hilarious !! + I couldn't agree more !!
Would love to try the Northwaves, but they stop at size 48 ...

I prefer cornering on the GP5000

Tuscany is Amazing!
Pirelli tires are super easy to mount on otherwise tricky tires.
How is a cycling shoe supposed to fit? Is it about heel lock? Arch support? Should you be able to wiggle your toes? Totally fold them? Thanks!

the tube version has same compound as tlr?
08:18 it looks like cleat postion is a bit far back at the middle
What?
@@BadTanLines yea
i mean the cleat position is drilled bit more back than the others
Is this the Development of the extreme pro 2 ?

My faves are S-Works then S-Phyre. Shoe video coming.

Continental has launched a new GP 5000 AS TR ( all season tire with improved puncture protection)

I wonder how those P Zero's taste?
I have a set for your culinary sampling.
I haven't tasted them, but if the smell is anything to go by, it should be fine

It's still the old pzero race. What they claim 24% faster is their older Pzero Velo. GP 5000 is much faster.
How more italian can it get?
I think with a 24% increase it should be pretty visible ijs
Don't think they're much faster in the mud and on forest trails :(
So the GP5000 still wins.
