  • I live in the southern part of Ocean City New Jersey and wanted to document the effects of Sandy on my community and family. In this first part I show the developing storm, 2 days from landfall, up through our mandatory evacuation, and then interview Doug Bergen who stayed during the storm. Bergen is the editor of Ocean City patch and he walked around with a wetsuit and camera the day of impact, recording what he saw.

Great job, Johnny boy. Very sad movie, Nice to meet Doug Bergen through this film--a brave guy, I must say.

Great video! I grew up in OC and I remember the storm in '62. I haven't lived there in a long time but I still have family on the island so it was interesting to see this.

Believe it or not the rain that fell was not as bad as they predicted. We were at the Jersey shore suppose to get a foot or so of rain but it was only half that or less. Most of the moisture fell way further inland in Pa, New York, Ma, Va.

I love this place I've been going here since I was 0 literally my cousins live down there and everyone in my family loves the place... It was sad when everything hit and seeing the aftermath but the lady year or two has been good last summer the town was looking great!!!

You have to wonder if this will even be around in the next 30 years or so. It is all well and good toilet your house, but if there is water in the streets a lot of the time, you can't really live like that.

I am 62 and hope i can stay here for the duration but doubt whether my grandkids will grow old in Ocean City.

By about 7 minutes in, I started to get a bit upset at you for not packing
EVERYTHING up and heading WAY inland. What a waste.
