Golden boi seems like less of a win condition and more of a play enabler, as is this whole new archetype, which is in someways preferable to a crazy boss monster since we live in the age of kaijus and many diverse crazy methods of removal.

I played against it quite a few times and I genuinely thought it was shit because everyone I played were bad. But now that ppl got how the archetype works I can confirm that, if played well, the archetype is absolutely broken.

I've had games where I have 4 sets with golden lord on field multiple turns in a row, basically overwhelming whatever my opponent was doing. Completely broken, and not to mention having a medium size engine means ability to play staples, handtraps, floodgates

Never noticed it before, but the lore in the card artworks depicts a cult of sorts, reviving some-kind of magic stone mcguffin which then resurrects the Golden King and turns said cult members into zombie slaves for him.

Lightning Storm and Evenly won't always be effective since they can recover cards by banishing from grave and they have a searchable negate. Reboot can also be stopped by their searchable negate and is also at 1, so not reliable.

It found some success on OCG if anyone doubting. It's like S/T version of Orcust with GY reliant floating with wide variety powerful effect instead body. the downside is that it IS slower, but it's more versatile and less bricky than orcust because even if you brick, you still have S/T to cripple your opponent enough to survive. then made your play next turn since you already have plenty of resource in GY.
I was thinking it was more like the Trap version of Sky Strikers, but I find the Orcust comparison more apt. Especially since the Golden Lord and his cards are far less restrictive than the Spell waifus.
Trap Trick can also a good card to play with this archtype, as it can search out El Dorado, Red Splatter, and Infinite Impermenance or any staple Trap you like, and it also helps set up El Dorado too if you get Red Splatter with it. The fact it's also a Trap means it has synergy with the Eldlich themselves and Magicians' Souls, so it still has value even if you don't set it or go second. Card Destruction and Dangers! could also be a good Spells and Monsters to run, as both offers both draw power and a easy way to set up your GY with whatever you don't want to set or Summon in your hand, in the case of C.D. it gets information on what your opponent's playing and better set up against them while Dangers bring bodies out on the field for Extra Deck plays.
@@matthewholmes2332 True, but you can't activate it if you control any Special Summoned monsters. Eldlich isn't the best deck in the OCG even with triple Skill Drain, so I'm not sure it would do really well here.
WyomingPTT Lots of cards are technically negs, yet still see play because their upsides are so good. Also, you can plus pretty well sending a spell / trap In eldlich
I love how Eldlich always something to do in field, hand, or the graveyard. He’s live as long as you have a S/T in hand, which means even at 3, he almost never clogs. The S/Ts being expendable with GY effects really helps out. I’m playing him with just the generic zombie package, and it’s been a blast to play in ygopro!

I've pulled one, I wont lie to you though i went through roughly 16 secret slayer packs at 4 bucks a pop, but still got him under 80 bucks and I got alot of cards for the plant and rock ones too but, I've been running zombies since 2002, even after losing locals month after painful month. Now, with the shirinui and mayukashi and added synchro and link monsters I've been re-learning the game, besides, if you entered your current deck in the tcg deck builder and hit add to cart I'm sure it would pop over 200$ man
What sucks is that the Boss monster is super-short printed, pre-selling at $80+. Some people even saying that there is only 1-2 copies per case. Super scummy from Konami to do that since the Deck literally cant function without him.
Allegedly it's even more short printed then Nurse, Kitchen and Alembertian in Mystic Fighters. Classy move by Komoney, "We're not gonna short print core set cards anymore! But side sets, kindly go eff yourself and pay up!"
60 card Eldlich honestly seems like a lot of fun. Might have to play around with it on Percy, see what kinda memes I can pull off. You never truly know a deck until you play it and discover a hyper specific interaction that makes you laugh hysterically

We ended up chain linking up Lycoris, El Shaddoll Fusions, and finally a Super Poly just to fuck around. THAT chain took a while to resolve. That's also the only time I've ever decked out playing Trickstars lmao
I am super hyped for this deck. Eldlich is so good not only because it has a solid base in itself but when you combine it with the already existing zombie support which has topped regions consistently then you start to have a very solid deck.
This deck actually makes me want to get back into the game again, it has everything I could possibly want; good artwork for all the cards, Zombie support and trap monsters that aren't actually bad at all. I like this a lot

another idea might be Necroface? while it doesn't have the special effects of El Dorado, it *does* return all your banished cards back to your deck, recovering from your Pot and Eldlixer/Golden Land costs (and getting bigger for your troubles) even if it's only on a Normal Summon.

Legitimately theres a ton you can do with this archetype, but its not a main player. I'd say a 10 card engine into a zombie deck is all you need. It is a play enabler, not a body type. But it opens the doors to more consistent extra deck plays, and can speed up the combo potential of zombies. I definitely am interested in seeing how well this works
This deck is a denial of the Synchro zombie deck. If you manage to splash it in normal zombies you will no longer become normal summon reliant which is nice. However when played as its own deck it is a strong extension to control you can easily end with balerdroch and the counter trap. You can also have the trap monsters which are also light disruptions. Overall I like the deck but this is the death of zombie synchro for now.
I meshed Eldlich with a more generic zombie based deck (Glow Up Bloom, Necroworld Banshee, Doomking Balerdroch like 1 tuner and other zombies that I often switch out). In master duel what I did to make Eldlich and his fusion even stronger was adding in honest since he's a light monster, so 3500 direct damage with that, can get out doomking balerdroch and the fusion for an OTK

I am 100% aware that this is stupid to say, but if you really want to... This is actually a good deck for Uria, Lord of Searing Flames, especially with the new trap card. Wouldn’t recommend it, tho.
When the deck got it's first reveal, I thought the deck was merely a joke. But after seeing some competitive success in OCG and some live duels, gotta say, it ain't bad!

Correct me if I'm wrong(please), but because Golden Land Forever! says " Tribute 1 Zombie monster" not " Tribute 1 Zombie monster you control", you can tribute a zombie in hand or even a zombie monster your opponent controls. (And you bet your balls or ovaries I'm combining this with Mayakashi)

It’s also wise to keep in mind that Souls exists for extra consistency and ceiling.

In master duel what I did to make Eldlich and his fusion even stronger was adding in honest since he's a light monster, so 3500 direct damage with that, can get out doomking balerdroch and the fusion for an OTK

Eldlich Mayakashi is pretty fun. They can summon about 20 times a turn, and can consistently revive from the graveyard.

The Adamantia have been limited by MR4 up to this point. Being super Synchro focused there’s a chance we could see more of them after the MR5 changes.

The fact that the S/Ts only specifies Eldlich monsters means there’s hope for at least another Eldich monster to be released someday. I just hope it’s as blingin’ as the Golden Lord.

Correct me if I'm wrong(please), but because Golden Land Forever! says " Tribute 1 Zombie monster" not " Tribute 1 Zombie monster you control", you can tribute a zombie in hand or even a zombie monster your opponent controls. (And you bet your balls or ovaries I'm combining this with Mayakashi)
This is in fact incorrect. I don't have the exact sentence available but if you check the glossary in the rulebook it's pretty clear about the word "tribute" :)
