David Sancious has two really incredible albums on Epic from the mid 70s my favorite being :" Transformation" (Speed of Love) where he shows off his incredible guitar talent. If only the radio would have also played these plus Jack's great album from '80 :"I've Always Wanted to do this" also on Epic / CBS with David Sancious on keyboards ,Billy Cobham on drums ,Clem Clempson from Bakerloo and Humble Pie "Smokin'" lp on guitar ,Jack on bass vocals and keyboards on some tracks I think. Brilliant and vastly overlooked lp from the end of the jazz rock fusion era
Saw Cream in 68 in Edmonton. Played Songs for a Tailor & Harmony Row on my little stereo in heavy rotation. Thank the lord for U tube so l can see this for the first time 50 years later
It's the late Bruce Gary drummer from the Knack on drums..Some maniac took my posts off of here that I had explained that Bruce Gary was the original drummer of the (1975) Jack Bruce Band with Mick Taylor,Carla Bley,Ronnie Leahy, & the late great Jack Bruce...Some idiot...a cop or some busy-bodied-freak took my three or four posts off of here that lent to the facts of who the late great Bruce Gary was...He was a customer of ours and also a good-friend who knew Robbie Kreiger of the Doors, and whom once sold Jack's SG Bass on EBay over 10 years or more ago back in '05 or so...He produced a few WB Reprise Boxed-Sets of Jimi Hendrix material we ran into him in the early 90's at a yard-sale in Encino with a Orange-Red 1985 BMW full of original Hendrix masters in the trunk with original graffiti on them that Eddie Kramer and Alan Douglas had written on the original master-tape-boxes...really a true genuine musician who once saw Hendrix and The Who at Monterey Pop in '67...We all miss you Bruce...
What a shame that a lot of general public haven't heard music like this and would get away from the same old hits on radio that they have been listening to for years
we all know that Jack is brilliant. But - wow - David Sancious is just jaw-dropping great. To think he plays guitar this well - and is mostly known as a kekboard player. I wish this band would have actually recorded something and toured the US. This song is also a great example of something that Cream would not have been able to pull off. Jack went way beyond that...as good as they were.
If curious, this song is from an excellent Bruce LP called AUTOMATIC. Bruce plays all the instruments (including cellos) with percussion programming assistance from Bruce Gary. Some of Bruce's strongest vocals from later in his career. Don't believe it's ever made it to CD. Thanks for posting.
I think you meant tiny drumset. The drummer is Bruce Gary of the Knack(he never got credit for that signature drumbeat) and he's 6'2",and that's not his drumset. He plays a much larger Gretsch set.A friend since 1978,he is highly underrated. He was in the Jack Bruce Band in 1975 with Mick Taylor,Carla Bley and Ronnie Leahy. Thanks to Chrismans and TH-cam his performances live on.He passed away a couple years ago.Miss ya Bruce.
If you read Jack Bruce's autobiography he refused to make the music the record companies wanted so they wouldn't promote his music but what he recorded during the 70s and 80s puts a lot of so called big name bands to shame

Mike Mathews Thanx Mike for reposting. Lots of amazing factoids not discussed elsewhere.

This concert was recorded and is available on DVD 😀
Great song and performance!!!
All those regular bands on corporate radio can't hold a candle to this standard of musicianship and virtuosity

The problem is trying to find that vinyl

@@johnphillips7886 His name ist Sancious, not Sancius!
He's not better, just different.
Bruce plays Bass better than Clapton, Clapton plays guitar better than Bruce. Stop this "a" is better than "b" shit!
