Actually the American Standardbred is available once you do the Hosea mission hunting for the bear. The stables unlock. It is unlocked DURING chapter 2 in Valetine.
Buell is still hands down my favorite horse in the game. I think he’s also the most fitting one for Arthur to ride into the last mission and die with. He’s a war horse that you get from an older man who dies in front of you, his last wish being that you take his horse and give him a good life. (That unlocks in chapter 5) From that point on you can basically do half the story together, and then do one final ride before he’s killed in front of you like a warrior. Maybe I’m looking at that wrong, either way you lose a horse before you die as Arthur, but when it’s Buell it always brings me to some tears 🤣. Specially after I’ve kicked ass with him for half the game.
The dappled black thoroughbred can only be bought if you have rhe ultimate edition of the game and the seal brown thoroughbred is given to you for free in the epilogue but cannot be obtained after you sell her or if she dies (alpha skibidi toilet)

It all depends on how you like to play the game, me for example, I don’t like buying things at stores or stables unless I really have to. I play the game using everything I earn, for clothes I use a lot of trapper clothing and hats I find in the world, for guns on the most part I use the ones I find in the world such as rare shotgun, rare rolling block, the legendary gunslingers guns etc.. same for horses, I like using rare ones found on the wild, like Buell for example, the only horse I use with John, the game is much more satisfying for me this way
The rarest one is Liver Chestnut Hungarian Half bred, so rare that you have to scour through the game files and place it on your save to have it as your horse 😂

They are solid and loyal but my preference is Turkomans, sometimes even MFTs and I never Ever under any circumstance pay for a horse yet I use every horse in this video. Go figure.. I sell em too.
Steal a wagon enter the stable with it and keep shooting on the roof until you get wanted level go to your ideal horse that you want to steal keep feeding it until it becomes your temporary horse exit the stable and then. Whistle and there you go
a male palomino Andalusian(his and buell's coats are similarbut made for the panther saddle!!!, either coat on the mft, or my reverse black dapple thoroughbred, and the dark Bay turk are my play through horses. I've never made it far enough to unlock the buel mission and although using the random horse cheat as early as chapter one gets you buell, Rachel, and all the others, the cheat never gives you male horses n a female buell doesn't sound right so I'll patiently wait to get him the right way.

They are race horses and free throughout the game as those and American standardbreds can be found in a variety of places. ntm any horse in a stable is there for the taking if you know how to take them.
The palomino I got it twice. A guy it’s fixing the horseshoe and the horse kicks him and run. The horse from the special edition of I lost it (die or leave it somewhere without the saddle) can I get it back?

I think the Buy Horses unlocks for that stable, at certain points of the playthrough. You can use the stable but not necessarily buy horses. On my 3rd complete playthrough and have seen this before. Or, you may own 5 horses already.
Uuhh🙄, the Palimino Dapple is available to buy and the Black Reverse Dapple is available For Free as soon as you get access to the stables "Early" in chpt 2.

Arabian's are fast, but it looks like you're riding a little pony.
Yeah they don't look like something an outlaw would ride. They don't look badass. An outlaw would ride an Ardennes, thoroughbred or Hungarian halfbred

Speed on horses is really a non factor in this game when it comes right down to it, but I can appreciate your love for the very fastest.
The main thing that matters is the handling, it even affects the speed. Elite is the best than Race than the others lol

I miss him too. Some left that last mission for John and they have it forever now. But it fitted Arthur better :)
I like the Grullo Dun mustang for the early game. You can’t go wrong with that one.
The American Standardbred becomes available during chapter 2. I used it for most of the chapter
The Brindle Thoroughbred is my all time fave in all my playthroughs. Easy to obtain early on. That horse is fast, hardy and not easy to spook.
I just steal them from the lady who rides up and asks if you want to race.

Are we forgetting the MFT and Turk. Definitely better than #5. And for rarity the one you can get from the veteran is probably the most rare one.

It's just you. It's a big tall horse so doesn't look like it's moving that fast. The Nakotas and Arabians are tiny compared to them.

TW Mahogany bay and Raven black shire are the rarest horses in the game, you cannot reacquire them.
Can't require Buell or Rachel either.

Black reverse dapple is part of game DLC. if you’ve bought the special or ultimate edition of the game, you get it for free.
