JC I cannot thank you enough for your evidence based approach to fishing. It's helped me learn over the past year what I think would have taken a decade or two to understand. My wife and I are welcoming our first baby in about a week and I hope I can pass on your knowledge to him someday when he can hold a rod. God bless you brother and tight lines.
Those what we call flair hawks are awesome for snook at night. We pitch them in the shadow line of the bridges. You drag them on the bottom nice and slow.
I really like bomber long A too. Especially around structure like bridges with current. Usually in silver and black... From my boat and the concrete around the bridge pilings if i can get to them... Great, informative video. Thx bud!
JC, great info, just ordered from First Light Tackle some jiggs, will try them here in the east coast of FL, then the west side later on this month. AS usual great tips.
I live in Florida, New Smyrna beach and fish mosquito lagoon and areas south around Merritt island. Bomber long A and first light jigs. A curly tail on the jigs sometimes work great too. Also Slayer inc paddle tails in their new grande size. The baby bass color is a favorite snook bait. Rigged on an owner weighted hook. 1/8 or 1/4 oz. hook... Great, informative video. Always room to learn something new! Thx man!
Thanks for the comment. I'd like flounder, but a keeper snook would be nice in the frying pan. I set up a new fishing rod specifically for fishing with those large jigs.
3ds minnow yo zuri is great for snooks here in Brazil...I think is one of the best lures ever, for snook... Your videos are awesome!!! I hope next time in florida I can make some casts !!!!! I saw so many spots that I'm sure that snooks eat there.....sorry my poor English
Yozuri Crystal Minnow off the beach right before the sun comes up. Absolutely deadly. Wind Cheaters out going tide at the inlet, preferably at night right when the tide changes.
Thanks for the helpful Snook videos. I’ve always wanted to catch one but haven’t managed to yet. One question: how do you fish those jigs around bridges and structure? What action do you use? Thanks
hey jc check out the you zuri twich bait slow sinking 3 1/2 inch lure in silver black, I find this mimicks a pilchard better than an x rap or stick yozuri
Thanks for this video! I had great luck last summer with xraps on the beach and was looking for a good lure for bridges and dockls. I will definetley try out those jigs. Thanks!
Thanks, I fished a jig for a couple of hours the other night, casting lights and shadows form a bridge that is loaded with snook, nothing, not even a bump. I put on a DOA shrimp and caught a 24" snook within about twenty minutes. As I was leaving I went down to the seawall and caught three on a Rapala X Rap buzzing the shadow. I could have caught more, but some kid was throwing a cast net from the bridge about twenty minutes before right in the lighted area I was casting the Rapala, spooked the fish I'm sure. I am determined to master jig fishing for snook though...
I live in Belize and fish in the belize river. I see snook quite often but i can never catch one, the water is quite murky, i've used live sardines, lures, and shrimps. Any tips for catching snook in rivers that aren't close to the ocean.
It seems to me that live bait is the best approach when the fishing bite is difficult. I always make sure that I have very lively and vibrant live bait when snook fishing. Lethargic or lazy minnow type baits don't do very well with snook in my experience. When I put on a pinfish that is kicking and vibrating really good, that's when I get the most strikes. Thanks for asking.
Great Video! Hello, I'm new to Snook fishing. I just want to know your opinion on using soft-plastics (like gulp) and how to use fish them to catch Snook. Thanks
I"ve caught several snook on Gulp type soft plastics. I've always just used a jigging motion like in this video: th-cam.com/video/stlNHgAm-kQ/w-d-xo.html
That excellent videos my brother, as I entertain and learn with you, I always expect excellent videos, greetings from Costa Rica, luck and good fishing.
Change those trebles out for inline singles, especially during the spawning months. May through September. See to many guys out maiming, injuring, and killing fish using those plugs with big trebles.
Hi JC, I live in Hollywood and plan to fish in your area Saturday 12/2. I have been looking for the greenback Yo-Zuri and can't seem to find it. Any suggestions? Do you know the style and color? Love the vids, keep them coming.
Thank you sir! I'll swing by there today. Any bait shop suggestions in the Port Charlotte - Venice area that can guide me to a couple of spots for success?
Thanks for the comment, very appreciated. Fishing with lures can get expensive when you are hitting concrete bridge pilings and seawalls. They are a must though if I'm going to catch fish around structure.
Yes it was awesome and I really liked the introduction to the video, right now I’m trying to teach myself how to edit videos... hopefully can get some TH-cam content before the end of the year
Thanks for the video, but all of these techniques and lures are not gonna work if u don't have a nice spot. If u have a spot that holds tons of snook you can use anything to catch them
SHOP LOCAL!!! Bps and walmarx are garbage. There are so many excellent locally owned tackle stores. Never any reason to spend a penny at either place you suggested.

You are welcome. I'm glad the videos are helping. Thanks for sharing your experience with me, greatly appreciated.

Thank for sharing great Snook fishing tips, greatly appreciated.
I got my first snook after this video thank you partner 💪🏽
Awesome. you are welcome.
Gotta love those yo-zuris, that bucktail looks like itll catch some nice fluke(flounder) up here
Thanks for the comment. I'd like flounder, but a keeper snook would be nice in the frying pan. I set up a new fishing rod specifically for fishing with those large jigs.
I've been to Florida many times and never had luck with snook lol, only sheepshead and muttons.

Thanks for watching and commenting. The Yozuri is my favorite. Yeah, we have loads of places that look like they hold Snook.

Thanks for the helpful Snook videos. I’ve always wanted to catch one but haven’t managed to yet. One question: how do you fish those jigs around bridges and structure? What action do you use? Thanks
I just published a snook fishing video a couple of days ago answering your question. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thanks for sharing your ideas Danny. I'll have to give that a try. Is your hook up ration less when you use the single hooks on lures?
Hi JC,
I live in Hollywood and plan to fish in your area Saturday 12/2. I have been looking for the greenback Yo-Zuri and can't seem to find it. Any suggestions? Do you know the style and color? Love the vids, keep them coming.
Hey Kerry, thanks for asking. I found some on Bass Pro here: www.basspro.com/shop/en/yo-zuri-3ds-minnow
Thank you sir! I'll swing by there today. Any bait shop suggestions in the Port Charlotte - Venice area that can guide me to a couple of spots for success?
Enjoy watching your videos very informative and great content
Thanks, Which of these lures would you surf fish on the beach
Interesting question, thanks for asking. My favorite lure to fish anywhere and anytime is the Yo-zuri.
Great lures.
Thanks for the comment, very appreciated. Fishing with lures can get expensive when you are hitting concrete bridge pilings and seawalls. They are a must though if I'm going to catch fish around structure.
What size would you recommend in the First Light jigs?
They make all different sizes to accommodate different currents. I fish with all of the different weights.
great video brotha this one really helped
Hey JC! Does this list still hold true?
I did make another video: th-cam.com/video/lBe53WIyhgg/w-d-xo.html
Subscribed. Good info.
What happened to telling us about how to fish that jig
Thanks for asking. I did briefly when I told the story of the slot Snook.
Trying to find the yo zuri but some many models and colors. Do you have a link where I can get? Also for the broken rebel thanks.

Yes it was awesome and I really liked the introduction to the video, right now I’m trying to teach myself how to edit videos... hopefully can get some TH-cam content before the end of the year
Catching fish is a lot of fun, but editing videos can be even more fun. Let me know when you are uploading and I'll subscribe.
Ok will do😁
"yeah i saw this one place where water flows into an area" YEAH ITS CALLED A SPILLWAY OMG LMAO HAHAH
I'd like to find a good spillway. Thanks for commenting.
Maybe they think it’s a squid
Thanks for the video, but all of these techniques and lures are not gonna work if u don't have a nice spot. If u have a spot that holds tons of snook you can use anything to catch them
Thanks for watching and commenting. Yeah, I always like it when I find a place where the Snook are piled up.
And this is a revelational thing that nobody else knows?
SHOP LOCAL!!! Bps and walmarx are garbage. There are so many excellent locally owned tackle stores. Never any reason to spend a penny at either place you suggested.
Garbage advice
